I still can't see how this bit of banter is derogatory towards woman. He's taking the piss out of his male mate...he wouldn't have done it to a woman. Woman want to have equality in Golf...if that's the case, get rid of the ladies tees. The ladies tees are there for a reason...because generally woman can't hit to ball as far as men. He wasn't demeaning the ability of woman golfers. Just that his mate, hit it like a female...shorter...which is true. It's a dig at his masculinity...not females. Female sports correspondence are saying they want a level playing field with men. Well how can they have that, when they play off shorter tees? One Sky reporter said... Whilst females and the offended get all righteous ??..then you get the likes of Paige Spiranac ( phwoar ??) ,and a host of others getting on her bandwagon, using golf and sexuality to promote golf and make a living...corporate golf and manufacturers using and sponsoring her. Whilst she openly jokes about Phil Mickelson getting his inches wrong and feeling sorry for his wife ?? The hypocrisy is the joke. At least Spiranac found it funny and made a valid point

Friend of mine is a Sheff Utd fan, season ticket for 30 plus years, goes to every game. He's said they've been playing poorly for weeks and getting results. Like when we played them here. He can't believe how they keep doing it. Reckons they'll run out of luck and Boro will take second spot. I tend to agree with him.

Old school golf banter. Basically telling him he drove like a girl. Leave a putt short...caught the grip in your skirt etc etc. Will be seen by many as inappropriate, but worse is said amongst mates when playing.

Fingers crossed. I've always thought he is most consistent centrally. Because he has such an engine and willingness, he's been used in less effective positions imo. Perhaps last season was a one off as well!

Its a catch 22. We needed greater depth with new signings...but like every new signing, it takes time for them to adapt to their new surroundings and get accustomed to our way of playing. For it to be ingrained and become second nature. Understanding your team mates, and knowing what they are going to do. I thought when I saw Weimann coming back from injury, and the two new signings starting, that it could be a problem...and it turned out that way. They looked rushed, disjointed and lacked composure in certain areas. Our upturn in recent weeks, imo, has been down to a settled side that have trained, played and ingrained our way of playing over a whole season. It's why the likes of Sykes, Conway and Bell fitted in seamlessly. Whilst we may now have depth...imo, it could turn out to be a problem. The GK, back four, DMF 2, James, Kal or Williams, and CM Scott pretty much guaranteed most games, they pick themselves. So 8 positions taken. That leads to the 3 attacking positions left. We have Wells, Sykes, Conway soon, Bell, Weimann, Cornick, Memetti. 7 players to choose from, to fit 3 positions. I can see this being a problem. Some may call it a good problem. However the understanding Conway, Wells, Sykes and Bell have, has been there for all to see. When blooding new players or those straight back from injury together, then imo, it's a step too far. Whilst Wigan had a well executed plan, imo, it was an opportunity lost to win that game, if we'd had more continuity up front. I know hindsight is a wonderful thing, but I would have preferred to start with Sykes, Wells and Bell, and subbed on Weimann, Memetti and Cornick and break them in slowly.

In this day and age, you aren't going to get anymore information from a programme, because it's all on the net. Unless it's an exclusive interview, photo, info that hasn't been shared before. Programmes these days, are imo, are a momento of an occasion. In the same way you'd by a souvenir from a holiday and such like. It's nice to have a physical item to flick through in years to come, to bring back memories. In the same way as a Vinyl LP cover and insert with lyrics/ photos are. Now very popular again. I've still kept my programmes from Man Utd and Man City from a couple years back. I still thumb through them when I stumble on them. Memories flood back. If their were ' exclusive' interviews etc, then I think they would sell well and be kept. Get them signed, as I did with the aforementioned, even better.

You can film, take photos using your mobile, for personal use. However, you aren't allowed to share it to third parties, like YouTube, social media, football forums. Cracking game down at lodge road yesterday. Backwell and Wood both started. Backwell did ok, got hooked. Wood was more impressive, very composed. Hooked later on. Two great goals from Yate. One straight from kick off. Three howlers conceding. The defending at the corner is a joke. Then the call from the keeper to win the ball from a long cross is hilarious. Don't think he got within 2ms of it ?? Then the cheap ball inside to lose possession leads to the winner. Watching this and my mates stream of City at the same time made for an entertaining afternoon. Speaking to a Poole fan, the majority of their fans behind the goal celebrating are banned from home games ?? Apparently one had to get a train back as the coach driver wouldn't let him back on...he was that wasted ?

As with successful teams that recruit players to fit a system...imo it's essential to find managers that fit your club and it's circumstances. NP is probably the perfect fit right now for our clubs situation. A manager can be excellent at another club, but every club is different, so a successful manager elsewhere, might be less so at your club if the circumstances are completely different. If money is no object some excell. No money and reliant on other avenues, you need someone different who knows how to work in those parameters. Then you have to choose and trust your backroom staff. Football is ever evolving. And managers trying to find different ways of winning. Imo...the analytical background type manager may come more to the for. The young manager at Reims is a case in point.

Both of these are great ideas. However I wouldn't risk it in October. Getting around from Nice on public transport is very easy, and some fantastic places to visit nearby. Cap Ferrat, Eze, Antibes, St Paul de Vence, Grasse...to name a few. Stunning places. Can highly recommend.

And this is what society has created. How do you control people, if they disobey rules, and refuse to listen to words? Parents these days are frightened to touch their kids when they are kicking off. Seen it many a time in supermarkets. They just let them scream and have a full on hissy fit often kicking out. Teachers aren't allowed to do anything. So how does a Steward have any chance? Kids can pretty much run riot these days with little or no consequence. And they know it. I've stepped in when 3 kids started abusing an OAP in my local town. Abusing him, pushing him. I stepped in...two kids got phones out and started filming, the other started pushing me, saying ' come on then Mr, what you gonna do about it, you can't, we're kids'... probably 14/15 yo. I walked the OAP away...whilst both of us took abuse, goading us. My initial instinct was to slap the kid into next week, take their phones, and contact the parents. No chance these days.

Tanner and Pring are defensively sound in the RB and LB sense. However, they both have the ability to play offensively ( like a wing back). They are the best of both worlds. Imo...they have provided just as much, if not more width and offensive play, than when we played with ' wing backs '. The CDMs allow this to happen. It doesn't leave us open to counter attack so much.

Same here. So sad over the years, society is now about blaming others for your own actions. It's such a blame culture. Sadly...we are dealing with not just the kids, but their parents. There are always consequences from your own actions. From a parent who's allowed/ encouraged their kid, to run onto the pitch...the consequence is a steward made a decision, rightly or wrongly, and gets abused/ man handled by other fans. Nothing happens to the kid or the parent. Perhaps in future...instead of fans having a go at the Stewards, we should start policing our own. Have a go at the parent, not the Steward. Call them out. It could have ended much worse...fans turning more violent on the steward. Just because parents can't control their kids or themselves in some instances. Society hasn't helped in letting this blame culture and no consequence culture develop.

I agree with your observations. As has been spoken about on the thread already, there has obviously been mitigating circumstances that have led us to play certain ways, with players playing out of their strongest positions. We all agree, I'm sure, that NP has done a fantastic job. Remarkable considering circumstances. However...like all managers, none of them are perfect, I'm sure most look back with hindsight on occasion and wish they had done things differently...that's football...not all plans come to fruition. What George Tanner said post match yesterday...implied performances improved with set up that the players felt more comfortable playing. Being comfortable breeds confidence. And being confident and comfortable is a massive help. If you play in a system you are confident and comfortable in, then you play with freedom and less worry. Confident in your own ability, confident in your team mate not making errors. It makes a massive difference. We haven't played much differently as has been pointed out. But we've cut out the individual errors and become defensively better. Playing with 4 at the back and 2 covering DCMS has been instrumental in our up turn in results imo. It stops oppositions exploiting our weaknesses. You can see the players are visably more confident playing in this set up. Not only does it help us defend better as a unit, but also allows us to play offensively with confidence, without worrying about losing the ball and be so open on the counter. In short...we aren't playing much differently to how we have all season...but the change has made us more defensively secure, which has bred confidence and in turn cut out individual errors. Formations perse are too vague. As they frequently change throughout a game. However...looking at stats...when we've initially set up in league games with 4 in midfield, we've lost most games. Playing 352 or 4231 has been our most successful set up...only losing 1 game. Winning 5 and drawing 5. When we've played 3412 we lost 7, won 4, drew 4. 442...lost both games. 343 lost. 433 won. Fingers crossed we can now play to a system where everyone is comfortable, and have a better depth of squad available. Going 4231 seems to have helped and reverting to a 352 during games has some logic.
