Given our high profile at the moment, surely City are going to make the most of this and get the season ticket prices out there as soon as possible?

But you'd hope that there are still decent deals on the table given the money we’ve recently made. COYR.

Think they’ll wait until the play offs are out of reach! ?

Back in the days of Graham Kavanagh! He was some player always enjoyed watching him unless he was running the show against us.

He didn’t always have a good day against us, as he confirms here!

  3. After watching the coverage back I loved the question by Laura Woods to Wrighty, which was something like “what do you think of the 5 changes City have made?” Wrighty then goes on to discuss us!

Two points from this, ITV now know there’s more than one team with City in their name and secondly, do your research to know the changes each team has made?

All about opinions, but I couldn’t be more polar opposite in mine.

FWIW contract discussions with Nige aren’t a priority imho.

From what Steve Lansdown has said, it looks like they have a pretty open relationship and both know a change could have been made, but wasn’t. Steve said that Nige isn’t afraid to argue with the owners and that he’s with “the project”!

Walked the full length of their away end to thank the fans, on his own. That sort of thing is often missed or forgotten at the top level, fair play.

Saw that, like the man and it was him connecting with the fans!

O’Neills were confirmed as the new supplier at the Senior Reds lunch with SL last Thursday. SL also wants to see the return of a printed program rather than just a digital version.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned this before as I guess a few of us were in attendance! Steve was quite open with his thoughts, an enjoyable Q&A!

We got better coverage than last week..........which was the first time I had watched the ITV4 version and thought it was shocking!!

She, unlike many other guests on these shows, appears to have at least a grain of knowledge about us......either that or simply bothered to find out before commenting which seems to be beyond many doing her job.

Whilst I agree she seemed knowledgeable, pretty certain it’s scripted for them, note the iPad’s! Last week Dean Ashton appeared to know every player each club had bought and sold in January - I have trouble just remembering what went on at Ashton Gate!

    Bristol City

    1. O'Leary - £0 (youth)
    2. Tanner - £300k
    3. Atkinson - £1.6m
    4. Vyner - £0 (youth)
    5. Pring - £0 (youth)
    6. Williams - £725k
    7. James - £0 (free agent)
    8. Sykes - £0 (free agent)
    9. Scott - £0 (youth)
    10. Bell - £0 (youth)
    11. Wells - £4.75m
    12. Mehmeti - £5m
    13. Cornick - "low six figures", lets call it £300k
    14. Weimann - £2m

£14.7m and yet, we're no better than them. We're no younger than them. We're 3 points apart in the table.

I still can't quite get my head around how much money we've wasted on flops like Rashica and Tzolis, and how heads haven't rolled for it. The fees for those two alone exceed the amount transacted for Bristol City's entire squad.

Begs the question really, are we one of the most expensive mid-table sides in Championship history?

I saw this yesterday and gave up reading when they quoted £5 million for Mehmeti.

Probably inflated as he was once on Norwich’s books?

I thought that was only in the final? Seems strange that they would take gate revenue and then dish out prize money to the winner?

That may be the case! I’m guessing the prize money is already ready set for each round and if so, how’s it financed? Mind you not having replays in this round reduces the chance of any extra revenue. Well, we are talking about the FA! ?

So we have earned £225k in prize money from the previous 2 rounds of the cup, a win in this round would double that, but the odds have to be against that.

However, there is still money to be made, but how much? I would imagine that Gate receipts from a full house, hospitality etc would be approaching £750,000 assuming around £25 for around 20k adults and 7000 concessions at around £15  a ticket. An additional £120,000 in F&B, Gross should be achievable. We receive 50% of the Gate receipts but retain all the additional income.

It seems likely we will also get a live TV spot which is worth £247,500 to each team. What I am not sure of is whether we get more for any overseas sales that are likely considering our opposition and their global reach.

I am sure there is potential for additional income from merchandise and collectables too. It seems that a gross £750,000 is a good ball park figure to expect.

A televised replay could also earn an additional £120,000 if it is televised and 50% of any gate receipts at the Etihad, would surely be greater than those from the home tie.

This could go some way to explaining why the purse strings seem to have been loosened even more than we thought today.

With regard to ticket sales revenue, I thought the FA took a significant wedge before splitting the remaining between the two clubs?

Agree, I thought he was excellent second half in particular.

Like Zak, he has really grown as a player over the last few months.

Agree with this, thought Pring was poor on occasions in the first half, but much improved in the second, got in good positions to cross, shame a couple of final deliveries weren’t quite there. Pleased for Zak, consistent throughout and worked hard.

    Royal, Windmill or Ship?

24 hours sounds more like campylobacter. A very different bug, could have been introduced before it even reached the venue.

Campylobacter is not pleasant, had it once and environment health, as Tom alluded to, were informed - best diet I ever had to lose weight quickly! Also, didn’t eat at either The Ship (good old Vic!) the Royal or the Hole in One!
