Yes. We were decent and enjoyable to watch in the second half of last season. We are much more defensively solid now. We look fitter and more mobile. We’ve introduced various younger players into the team, who are doing well and have more experience. Some players have improved significantly under Pearson, e.g. Vyner. We are attracting and acquiring decent young players. We are only 3 games into this season - having won, lost and drawn one; we’ve had worse starts to seasons.

Please let Johnson & Johnson get the deal. Imagine the meltdown!

Exactly this. We gave the ball away through through lack of patience (to wait for a decent opportunity). As a result, we were playing Hollywood balls out of defence - Vyner did it as well, and Naismith before their second goal. Be patient and work the ball again.

But if we’re close to or in the relegation zone in November, I’m sure those same people will be saying we should sack Pearson and ‘why oh why did we extend his contract and waste all that money?’ Personally I’m a Pearson fan but I’m relaxed about his contract situation and I’m sure Pearson is too given what he has said in the past. If we’re doing well, I’m sure it will be extended - assuming Pearson wants to extend it, and if he doesn’t then good luck to him. If he isn’t doing well, I doubt either party will want to extend it - and I doubt most fans will want it either (although personally I would like him to continue assuming we don’t get relegated)

Why would Lansdown extend Pearson’s contract at this point? We’re three games in. If he’s got any sense, he’ll want to see how we’re doing towards the end of the calendar year first. And if we’re doing crap, I’m sure Pearson won’t want to hang around either.

I’m not sure what people are expecting. Pearson has been clear for a while now that due to our wage structure/cap there is a limit to what we can do. Quite frankly I’m pleasantly surprised that we managed to get Taylor in. How many times does he need to say this for the penny to drop? I’ve even seen people moan that we haven’t replaced Scott with someone as good as Scott. What planet are some people on? As for Pearson not being particularly ‘happy’ in the press conference - would you be happy after that Birmingham performance and result? He’ll be happier if we win on Friday.
