  1. On the match day thread, I saw a lot of positive comments about the line-up and personally I thought it was ok. On the bright side, though, it does show us with certainty who should be starting for us as some of the following still look on form/ready: Conway and Wells up front; James and Scott in midfield; Pring (probably as LCB given our injuries); O’Leary; Vyner; I would keep Weimann at RWB as he can least get forward and cross and he has not been performing as well recently in his role behind the front two; Dasilva (if Pring has to play at CB.) This leaves a CB position up for grabs - unless Kalas or Naismith are back (unlikely) I’d go for Atkinson (if fit) over Klose and play him in the middle (Vyner right, Pring left). And the role behind the front two - Semenyo doesn’t look right so I would bench him. I’d be inclined to try Sykes there as I think we need Scott in the middle two given Joe Williams’ poor form and this is the position I expected us to see Sykes when we signed him. Anyway hope we see these players on Saturday.

    FA Cup 22-23

I thought Paul Warne (Derby manager) spoke properly/generously after the match. Said Torquay deserved it. I really enjoyed the game .
  3. Agree with this. I’m watching the recording of the match and it was even more one sided than I thought on the night - there was only one team in it. And that was against a team that is currently third. Plus their goal should have been ruled out for offside and Norwood should have been sent off. My only slight concern is that Wells and Semenyo are not as clinical as they have been, and Weimann hasn’t looked his usual self for a while now. Need them back on song.
  4. Just watched my recording of this match as couldn’t watch it on Monday and was watching City last night of course. Managed to avoid the result (and this thread!) before I watched it - a bit like the Likely Lads for those that remember it! Glad I did as was a cracking game. I wanted Exeter to win (as used to live there) but would be good to see Plymouth in the Championship. To be fair I think the two Plymouth matches I have watched on TV this season have been a couple of the best matches I’ve watched on TV for a while - v Ipswich earlier in the season and this Exeter match. Very entertaining.
  5. What a brilliant result - and a great start to a holiday for me! Managed the game really well - showed real championship nous.
  6. I’m loving it. My favourite bit was when Chris Martin handed the WBA player the ball for our throw in ?
  7. Well onside (I’m watching off red button recording so could rewind and pause)
  8. Shouldn’t be underestimated how much responsibility Naismith takes on organising our defence.
  9. Agree. Atkinson - with his height - needs to be getting higher though.

    Andy King

Entirely agree. He was looking good in midfield before he had to cover at CB. In his interview after the match he explained that he has been tried at CB in training given the injuries to Kalas and Klose.
  11. I was also surprised that we changed shape so soon after we scored. I felt we were starting to get on top at that point and saw us equalising. We didn’t look as dangerous afterwards. After the change, the wingbacks had more defensive fullback duties (not their strength) and Wells had to go more left side (away from the middle). Personally I would have seen how Semenyo and Wells did as a front two, kept the three at the back, and if you’re going to bring Wilson on, he needs to play RWB.
  12. Agree. Really interesting and honest interview. I like him - and I also enjoy watching him play. Doesn’t shy away from answering questions just like he doesn’t shy away from demanding the ball.
  13. Only lost 2 of the first 10 matches - mad!
  14. Summed up that game - he’s a Plymouth fan too! Really enjoyed it. Well done Plymouth.
  15. 2-1 Plymouth. Cracking game. Plymouth top as it stands.
  16. Coverage cuts to Mark Ashton in the crowd and the commentator talks about him and then almost immediately afterwards Plymouth equalise ?
  17. Good game. Jammy goal for Ipswich.
  18. James Wilson (ex City) playing for Plymouth. Time flies - still think of him as a youngster coming through the ranks but, having checked, he’s now 33!
  19. Yep - top of the table clash; beat Ipswich and they replace them at the top.
  20. Yes it does feel odd, especially given we also have a mid season break in a couple of months. Agree that Sept is a good month for watching City - still warm and light - home or away (Fulham 0 City 4 was six years ago today which I certainly enjoyed!)
  21. And Plymouth v Ipswich same time tomorrow may also be worth a watch.

    Weimann

Spot on. Plus we were rubbish last time when he was injured and he was great when he came back.
