I really believe we could make that song our own.

I can imagine the crowd singing it as one.

Gas have one, West Ham, Liverpool etc. etc.

    We need one imo.

It's relevant...and the 'Blue' bit could be aimed at the Gas. Changed to ' what if I'd been Blue'.

When the red, red, Robin comes bob, bob, bobbin' along, along
    There'll be no more sobbing
When he starts throbbing, his old sweet song
Oh, wake up, wake up you sleepy head
Get up, get up, get out of bed
Cheer up, cheer up, the sun is red
Live, love, laugh and be happy
    What if I've been blue?
Now I'm walking through fields of flowers
Rain may glisten but still I listen for hours and hours
I'm just a kid again doing what I did again, singing a song
When the red, red, Robin comes bob, bob, bobbin' along

This has always been City’s song not that rubbish from the Wurzels, been to a few family funerals when they’ve played this, always brings a lump to the throat

I don't know, I heard a radio comedy one time where a running joke was that the Scots character was an active supporter of Dundee, and hated Dundee United.  Or vice versa, I genuinely forget.

How many English people would know anything about either club and be able to differentiate between them?  I think one of them plays in orange but that's my knowledge exhausted.

That's like trying to differentiate between Harrogate Town and Harrogate Railway !!!

You've clearly not seen the new season ticket video...

    Correct

  3. Unfortunately i got hooked in the early '70s with the emergence of our young local stars and the young Scottish players, very exciting times with the cup games and promotion to the top flight, who would of guessed it was going to be all uphill and generally mediocrity from then on ?

Yes, I worked in London with an older woman who was very into her football.

She could never remember whether I supported Bristol City or Rovers because she knew nothing about either team, from shirt colours down.

I was surprised by this but as we are way out west and have had little national impact then maybe I should not have been.

She was always very nice about it and didn't ever have a go, but genuinely could not differentiate between the two Bristol clubs.

    That's ignorance beyond belief

Have a look at the squad when we lost 3-2 at home to Stoke last autumn. That looks like a pretty strong group of players to me. Rewind back to a year before that when we lost 2-0 to Reading and we had a very strong squad IMO

Indeed, we had our two young “Premiershipship” stars then as well still playing for us, Reading away last season was possibly the most gutless performance I’ve seen in my 50 years of following City

Andy Johnsom on West Brom comms if you're detecting a Bristolian twang.  From Talbot Hill area, but a gashead unfortunately!!!  He's a decent lad in fairness, although I reckon some bias might come out today!!

    @JP Hampton

Lived on the Talbot all my life and never heard of the guy !!!

btw Dave there is no such Road as “Talbot Hill” despite the fact that is what everyone calls it !!
