Always remember that Bath game. My dad won £1000 on the City Society draw at halftime. Everyone had a four digit number and it was limited to 2000 members I think.  Each week they'd call out the numbers one at a time. You were lucky to be still in the draw after one number and usually knocked out by the second.  It got pretty interesting after getting three matching numbers. I'll never forget my dads face when they called out the fourth number and he'd won. He'd just been made redundant too. We picked up the big cheque on the pitch at halftime in the replay.

He's passed on now, but football can create these sorts of memories that stay with you forever.

Me and a couple of mates won a car in that draw, it was announced at a boxing day game and with all the noise we weren't 100 per cent sure it was our number until we got it confirmed after the game. At the next home game we were driven around the edge of the pitch in the car, then it left the stadium and we had to pay to get back in! In the original version of that draw the first prize was a house, can't see that happening again now.

I also remember Cashley scoring a goal on a night match at home in similar circumstances. I remember the ball bouncing in front of the other goalie and going over his head and in the net. I was in the open end with my dad and this is the end the Cash goal was scored.

Will have to look it up in the City bible to confirm who the away team was at the time.

    Hull City I believe

great memories. Some great players as well. Merrick, Tainton and how good was Cashleys kick up the field to Keith Fear.

I was there, there was a gale-force wind blowing behind Cashley's kick. Rovers had the wind in their favour in the 1st half but only scored once

I use it through the internet browser on my smart TV, no pop ups and doesn’t open additional web pages

I just thought I'd put it up there as my system is pretty secure. Your TV won't have any antivirus and is probably using an out-of-date version of the browser so I'd be careful, if it's compromised hackers will potentially have access to the rest of your network, eg your phone.

  5. The combination of it being near Christmas, the virus and it's the first game where vaccine passports are going to be checked (City don't deal with new processes very well!) is going to mean a small crowd, at least it will give them time to refine the passport-checking process for when larger crowds attend.

  6. When he first played under TC couldn't play more than half a match but most teams used to set up at AG to defend, if we had trouble breaking them down TC would bring Joe on with half hour to go, the next cross we put over JJ would put their keeper in the back of the net, get booked, and then their defenders would spend the rest of the game trying to 'get' him and completely lose their previous composure and organisation.

Bringing back memories of Big Mick.  I had that kit.  Lush.

Villa’s away kit was nice too.

The only problem with black is that we always seem to get relegated when it's in the first strip (last time was 2012-13 when SO'D was manager and we went down). We also went down the season shown in your picture (Mick Harford).

  8. I used to get Shoot every week. Regarding the kit I believe that we had white shorts and red socks that season, the black was part of our second strip of white shirts and black shorts, not sure why we ended up with that combination against Man City?

  9. We're going to be missing our key midfielders again, with too many of the young players there in their absence we know we get overrun by other teams so Nige has got to think of something different, eg play Viner there and revert to a back four, and maybe try and make use of Simpson somehow, it might not work out but there's no point in picking the same as the last game as we know what will happen.

  10. We look ok if we have most of our key players available, people were saying before the game that they were worried about the midfield being so young and the absence of an 'enforcer' such as Mattie Jame or Williams and that's exactly how it's played out. If we can recruit a couple more like them in Jan we'll be ok. If you look at our results since LJ left they've been ok except when were missing loads through injury which has often been the case.

  11. He started off really well but was one of those keepers who was brilliant while confident but once he made an error it would usually be followed by another. Also tended to try and blame others when he made a mistake - I remember this happening at Wolves where he let in a late soft goal which he should have gathered then tried to blame Wilbraham, he was close to getting punched in that moment.

For me it’s worrying that with the £m’s we made from selling players we wracked up £41.4m of losses in that period 15/16-19/20…5 sets of accounts. All with MA as COO / CEO.  All with SL as Owner and JL as Chairman.  All with LJ as Head-Coach.

Without those sales we lost £117.2m.

    Let that sink in!

    Draw your own conclusions. ??‍♂️??‍♂️??‍♂️

How many Championship clubs make a profit? It's almost impossible given the level of player wages with hardly any income from TV, you can't rely on gate receipts these days. If a club can keep it's debts within the FFP limits then it's doing OK, and we fall into that category. The only way to make large amounts of income is through player sales, we've done that and our best signings have now departed but not sure how else you can solve the puzzle?
