City signed him from Bath so, even if he doesn’t have a long career at City,  it shows that good players are out there in non league.

and he's certainly done the loan trail. Which has no doubt added to his resilience. He's 24 now, so a good age now to settle at a club

Yes playing well. Think they're stepping sideways at the scrum but I'm obviously biased. About as good a half with 14 men as you could hope to see at this level from England.

15-15 with 20 mins to go

Just spoke to the club. There is an issue with their version of Worldpay and it’s compatibility with various Banks new security systems. If you have tickets in your basket, but can’t complete the transaction, ring the club. I did and they’ve arranged for my tickets to be picked up and paid for at the WBA game.

Thank you I did ring the club, but no luck. Appeared doubtful that any more would be released(I'm not sure what our allocation was)

Thanks, I shall have a listen- he's always a good listen.

I think the PL didn't expect anyone to breach, perhaps a bit of a loss...they had the power although I say this without having listened yet to impose some kind of budgetary limits.

The rules are joined up albeit with different limits so I would be surprised if the EFL didn't have the power to charge etc.

£105m in a 3 year period PLUS allowable costs plus the averaging plus the Covid allowances- it seems impossible to breach, how do they do it?

I would prefer a sanction first and then appeal- at EFL and PL level. UEFA too although I guess right to a fair hearing etc.

They are anticipating losses in excess of £100m for 2020-21, but with Everton it's not only COVID. According to media reports severing their links with Alisher Usmanov is likely to cost them £300m over 20 years

Playing Bell out of position was a mistake, he looks lost and devoid of confidence. That he moans about no cover for Bell is interesting. He could help him out by going 4-4-2, but we don't play a covering player as such, so you are relying on others to work back. If he wants cover, surely they have worked on it in training. Whatever way you look at it, it's down to Pearson.

TBH that's one small part of another bad day. A midfield that I was looking forward to seeing in place, didn't do it. The front 3 isn't working (However they set up it's 3 strikers), I'd go with AS & AW as a pair.

If Klose is fit, and Atkinson has no reaction, I'd go with a back 4 of

    Kalas - Klose - Atkinson - Pring/DaSilva

    Round pegs, round holes.

I'd play all of Massengo, James, Williams and Scott. We could get away with a narrower MF if we play proper experienced FB's. Scott does his best work in an attacking role and with the other 3 we would have legs and experience.
We've tried an attacker, a left back , an attacking midfielder , why not try someone who has actually done that job before ?

I know it's a big job, but you start to wonder if with the same players, someone else might do better. These questions are inevitable, when you watch what is like Groundhog Day, without the

Rather than playing SB out of position and senior players not proving cover as NP moaned about post match, why didn't he just take a RB from the U23s .

At least it would have been a round peg in a round hole.

Never going to last long term, found an interesting way of playing that caught teams out for a while but never sustainable at the highest level.

Think next level Holloway at Blackpool.

Always chuckled at the media and ex pro hype about him.

But what about the fans?. They are not happy. Despite the league position the vast majority wanted him to stay . Some waited 7 hrs at the training ground to say their goodbyes.

To be fair their capacity is only just over 9700 so for once they probably aren't lying that it's a sellout.  Of course 9700 wouldn't be a sellout of The Lansdown stand at Ashton Gate.

Think we need to be clear here, he was in City's Academy for a little over a year before signing his first pro contract in March 2021.

    He came though Guernsey's system.

And don't forget Ben Acey who looks to be signing for us. I wonder how much SL living in Guernsey has to do with us getting these players as opposed to them signing elsewhere.

My hope is he'll be considered too old for big offers to make a sale tempting to the club, under the current set up.

If M.A. was still here, I would have feared a cash in before the end of his contract to make the balance sheet look better.

However, as his new contract was on lower wages, I sure many clubs will be happy to pay him a lot more.

As long as he feels fairly treated, I think we can hang onto him for a good while.
    Here's hoping.

On the plus  as he has said in interviews  he likes it here in Bristol and at the club. His contract is until 2024 when he will be 32. I can see him being our 'Jamie Vardy'

Peterborough v Reading (if its not postponed)

Reading will get dumped in the bottom three if they lose.

Its not that Peterborough have gone on a good run themselves, just that Reading (with a decent squad) can't buy a win.

They've gone on a dreadful run - last 10 games, 2 draws and 8 defeats, 7 losses on the spin, 28 conceded in that run.

Really windy there and corner flags virtually horizontal. Expect either a nil nil draw or a wind assisted freak goal

Idehen played really well in the last U23s game (broadcast on RobinsTV).

I suppose he's got his chance from that performance and how he's done in training.

and according to NP in his pre match conference said he had played well in U23s and hasnt been fazed at all on his call up to the 1st team subs bench today. If he does well in training this week, I expect he'll be on the bench again or maybe even play.

You are talking about the top 1% of players.  Ronaldo and Messi don’t need motivating sure. Not sure if youve noticed but our level of player is below that. Many ex pros talk about managers being good motivators. You should listen to them to understand.

Not sure about Ronaldo at the moment, and even Pep for all his motivational speeches gave up on Barcelona.

The Barton Post match interview is worth a watch, apparently they had 2 stonewall penalties turned down in the first half, "the lino needs to go to specsavers" ? and "the gasheads turned up in great numbers" ?

And apparently they've had a blatent penalty denied this afternoon  so ground hog day beckoning for the post match interview

Obviously about opinions, but think Vyner offers us more.

Firstly he’s been shunted between RB, CB (in a 2 & in a 3) and CM.

I don’t see a lack of competitive edge at all, but a player who has been dominated physically by Deeney & Mitrovic, which suggests in a side with Kalas & now Klose we would expect them to deal with those type of players.

He was very good in midweek & I believe he always gives his best, as a presumably lower wage, decent availability, versatile squad player I would personally keep him.

COD however can go tomorrow, (I appreciate the reality is we have to wait until his contract ends) rather like Pearson’s view of Paterson, he’s been with us too long, is stale & not offering value.

I may be wrong butI don't think Pearson has the same view of COD as he has of Patterson.
