I'm not trying to talk down the two teams' achievement, but both clubs have budgets that would be similar to putting Man City and Arsenal into the Championship. Mullin at Wrexham earns £4.5K a week, whereas some players at other National League clubs are still on part-time contracts.

That's football though, happens in every division pretty much, money talks these days and we would be no different if we dropped down a division or two I'm sure

I'm I the only Otiber who has no idea who Ryan Reynolds was?

To be fair, I didn't know who he was either, but his post match interview was everything you want your owner to be really, great respect given out, humble, and obviously loves the game

I've not been following the conference but can't believe 2 teams over 100 points!  Crazy times, should defo be 2 auto spots!

The other way around we are happy, but as it turned out ( as I, unfortunately, thought it would) we are left deflated all the excuses in the world can be trotted out but in the end, the city did what the city do and personally, I'm just growing a little weary at the inevitability of It, as a season ticket seller I'm not sure if it prompts people to buy or like me they will think how come a team like Boro who themselves have not been in the top flight for ages and do not receive PP can look so superior to us for long periods.

How many season tickets does a season ticket seller sell?

May aswell have just keep Potter to be fair and seen if there was any signs at all of improvement , unless they honestly think Frank is the man to win the champions league

Would be funny if Frank came in and won the Champions League a bit like Tuchal did when he came in for Frank!

  5. I'm not saying that I want to go back to the days of Vinnie Jones type tackles as they are reckless, but I would love to return to the days when players took it all as part of the game and actively didn't react to bad challenges or even not so bad challenges in the case of Kane last night, note the tackle on Cantona is criminal but Cantona is up quicker than Vinnie Jones!  This would not happen now

Gentle push ? stuck his fingers in his eyes, even if by accident that's gonna hurt for a bit

He went down to help ensure the red card nothing more nothing less, he didn't lose the use of his legs because of the pain in his eyes!

Personally I agree it's a red, but I don't agree with Kanes reaction to get a player sent off, it's cheating, everyone knows it, the question is whether you think it's justified and would you be happy if a City player did the same?

That makes it read like Clough scored 471 goals…he didn’t!

    image.thumb.png.0abec717e9f172327ba36ef0120bdd0a.png

    That was his total.

I think the other thing is that all bar one came in the second flight.

Whatever devision they were scored in, an unbelievable record, surprised he didn't get a move to top flight with those stats

If Owen would have stayed fit he would have beaten the record (49 at that time) I think, he was unreal when he came on the scene, another qualifying campaign and tournament would have seen him very close.

He was done with England by the age of 28 and scored his last England goal in 2007 age 27!

I know HK has the record but if you could pick one in their prime who would it be?

    Name Goals Caps Years
    Harry Kane 54 81 2015 - present
    Wayne Rooney 53 120 2003 - 2018
    Bobby Charlton 49 106 1958 - 1970
    Gary Lineker 48 80 1984 - 1992
    Jimmy Greaves 44 57 1959 - 1967
    Michael Owen 40 89 1998 - 2008
    Nat Lofthouse 30 33 1950 - 1958
    Alan Shearer 30 63 1992 - 2000
    Tom Finney 30 76 1946 - 1958
    Vivian Woodward 29 23 1903 - 1911
    Frank Lampard 29 106 1999 - 2014

If Owen would have stayed fit he would have beaten the record (49 at that time) I think, he was unreal when he came on the scene, another qualifying campaign and tournament would have seen him very close.

Atmosphere in the Lansdown is good? There isn’t one ?

I find when sitting in the Lansdown the atmosphere is good as you can really take in the rest of the grounds atmosphere from that vantage point, even if there isn't any atmosphere actually created from the Lansdown itself if that makes sense

Don't sit in the Dolman if you have long legs. You will have numb knees by half time where they are squashed up against the seat in front.

I worked with a women a few years back who had a false leg, and she used to book extra leg room seats on a plane, sounds fair enough, but she was only 5ft tall! ?

    Hello!

The Wife and I (American Bristol City fans) will be attending our first match vs Rotherham!

We are looking at W15 in Landsdown, or E31 in Dolman. Would the experience be much different between the two? Or are there any other recommendations?

Appreciate any help that can be provided!

How tall are you both?  The leg room isn't up to much in the Dolman!

TV now has just become so ' vanilla'...

Inbetweeners, the fast show, little Britain...so funny, still is imo.

And who can't remember the Big Breakfast. Bring it all back. Fed up of cancelling everything because someone might get offended ?

    Remember this...

I think I can still remember the address (without googling)

    4 Old Lock Keepers Cottages

    London

It's the same with The Inbetweeners and that was out only 10-15 years ago and I've seen disclaimers for offensive language/homophobia before it's been shown on TV.

I still laugh at the Inbetweeners but it's amazing that in such a short space of time, the world has moved on in terms of what is deemed acceptable, and I genuinely think it wouldn't get made now and certainly not in the same way.

If you watch Little Britain now it has aged terribly

Perfectly captured 1990's and 2000's culture, which is no longer applicable today

    Right decision

Along with Big Breakfast, this really was a British show of its time, the 90's were pre internet and mobiles for most people, and i think the 90's really was the end of an era in many ways.

Its a shame the collective TV watch by the public has largely disappeared due to streaming etc and we are now engulfed by the same Tv programmes as the rest of the world.  Live Breakfast Tv was immense in the 90's!

Not really... Cheap back up keeper to cover in case of an emergency, every club has one and he is certainly a lot cheaper than keeping Bentley.

I think you're looking for a problem that isn't there.

I think you maybe ignoring a problem that is there, in that we sign a keeper and he leaves after 2 months.

He's a keeper by trade so he knows the game in that you have to wait for your chance, and as we went through a good vain of form so he didn't get that chance, then 2 months later he's offski.

For me that shows a lack of commitment from him to prove his worth and break into the side, a lack of belief that he could actually get a longer contract, and actually the club weren't bothered either which for me says all we need to know.

Those saying he benefitted from being here is all very well, and I'm sure he did, but we arnt a charity.  We signed 2 keepers this season, neither of which have worked out, and our other former captain Bentley has left.  In anyones book it seems that in terms of keepers we seem to have an issue with recruitment.

Dont get me wrong happy with Max he's done well, but he needs a strong number 2 to push him.
