Having listened to Scudamore, I am releived that he is no longer in the job.

The further he is from this club, the better.

    100% agree with Neville.

For me he talks complete business sense, it might not be what people want to hear, but he's right.  The only thing I disagree with is the use of parachute payments, clubs should sort their contracts out in this respect should they go down, but apart from that he knows what he's talking about.  I like Gary Neville but he doesn't understand economics and why just giving EFL clubs a slightly bigger slice won't do anything to address imbalances and could actually impact finances long term if Prem isn't the top league

I'm generally pretty positive I just think there should be some consumer protection for stuff like this.

If Man U changed their kit half way through a season it would be on the news and newspapers would be filled with parents in full compo-face mode.

Football kits are really expensive for a lot of people and for them to be changed with little, to no warning, is pretty shitty IMO. Especially when a lot of the time these items are bought for children.

If city sold any hummell replica kit on wednesday during the England game for example, knowing a new kit was coming a few day later, that would be bang out of order and I hope they didn't.

The last football shirt I bought was an England one for the 2004 euros, it was a reversible one, and it had the dates that the kit would be valid for on it.  I appreciate England have their kits for longer that clubs, but still good to know esp if you were buying the kit near the wear by date!

I agree though, it's not great to change kits like this as there will be some element of pressure on parents to buy the new one for kids, but it's not really happened before and probably won't again.  I guess it's a shame that there hasn't really been any acknowledgement that thousands of people will have already bought the previous shirt and all the kit etc and now the club have changed it mid season (for valid reasons) but havnt wanted to mention it in the slick launch videos that they at least appreciate the ££££ spent by fans already at a difficult time, unless I've missed it?

Would be interesting to know what JL does on a day to day basis.

Obviously none of us know or probably ever will know what he actually ‘does’ but I can’t help but just feel he has been shoehorned into the role of chairman purely because of his old man. Fair play to him i suppose, the perks of your Dad being a billionaire football club owner ay ?

He's just in the family business, if SL ran a shop then JL would be working there, no different really

At the start of 1988/89 the player issue shirts had black Hirerite on it (the same as the replicas) - I think (and I might be wrong), that the white Hirerite logo appeared from the Forest televised cup tie onwards (maybe it was deemed easier to see than black on national TV?)

They are 'us' to most people watching - they literally represent our identity. So it's really, really important.

With all due respect, you need to get a grip.  It doesn't matter what the kit design is or who supplies it, the universal truth is some people will like it some won't, and Hummel by no means have the monopoly on great kits,

It would be deeply upsetting to move away from Hummel, the kits have been very imaginative (if not always my cup of tea). This year's away and third kits are excellent.

If we do move, it HAS to be to someone who will provide 'bespoke' kits - no more bl00dy templates, like the Star Trek abhorrence from Adidas.

Deeply upsetting? You must really love those Hummel kits!

  7. I posted this link on another thread but having now watched the whole thing I thought others might be interested to see it so have started a thread.

It's from Gary Neville's Overlap series of interviews on YouTube which by the way are all brilliant (especially Roy Keane, Scholes, Lampard and Gerrard).  This is one year old but thought I'd share considering Scudamore has been name checked by our new CEO this week.

He mentions his first ever game was the John Atyeo testimonial and that one of his first jobs in football was for the Bristol and District League (I played in Div 9 for RMC Wick back in the day!).

But it's a great interview, no punches pulled by Neville, but PS comes across very well and if he is involved with City behind the scenes I think that can only be a good thing!  Enjoy

I do not know one single person who has stopped watching the Football to then change and go to the Rugby. I know a few who do both who never previously watched the Rugby, and a few who just go to the Rugby who never previously.

That poor Saggie must have thousands of City mates to have found out his "fact" of there being many who have changed. Because I would bet the house on it being completely made up bullsh1t (or he simply knows one person).

What's annoying is this kind of baseless comment isn't even questioned on Gaschat, it's pure hyperbole and the word 'many' has been thrown out there as to indicate a huge number, when in fact it's probably 2 of his mates or something, poor of the Rovers fans on there to not call out the BS
