A United player ended his fathers career, one of the worst things Ive seen on a pitch. Haaland junior can not play for Man U. The dessert should be eaten cold as the sicilians says.
To avenge the injury to his father by Man Utd, Haaland spends 20 odd years preparing to become the greatest goal scorer of all time and signs for their bitter rivals Man City to get revenge! Maybe watched too many Rocky films

I wouldn't. There's clearly a deep rooted issue at spurs like there was here. Pearson has cleared the rot.
I don't think keeping Kane has really helped them at all, each manager has been almost forced to play Kane I think and that limits options to how you play. Jose has won trophy's at every club he's managed accept for Spurs, that says something to me. Conte is no mug as a manager. Poch was given time and could win anything.
They also went through a stage a few seasons back of securing lots of players on long contracts and I think it ended up making too many players way too comfortable with life, nobody is fighting for anything, managers come and go but the players stay.
As a club they have won nothing for donkeys years, they have now moved to a new stadium, and as Arsenal will testify, that saps resources and takes a long time to find your feet, regardless of how good the stadium is, I can't see them winning anything until they have a proper reset and change mentality.

I watched a game there back in the 90's! The glory years of you will

It's not a soulless bowl design but it's an ugly duckling of a design compared to other new stadiums of the last few years built around the world. I'm glad we stayed put if this was the choice but hope we can do something about the Atyeo one day, which has always looked poor, even when first built and let alone now

Looking for recommendations of grounds to visit around Europe, never been a great fan of watching England abroad, don’t get me wrong love watching everyone there and recently us doing well in tournaments but to much baggage for me , sorting tickets , chavs causing problems , being targeted by the police etc etc . So over the next few years I have set myself a bit of a bucket list of European grounds to go to , just see what the atmosphere on the day is before and after the game , what the grounds are like , quality of the game , oh don’t forget check the bars out as well ,basically just get a match day experience as if I was going to watch City but obviously without the passion
Spain Italy Germany France Portugal Poland possibly a Scandinavian match ( beer bit pricey there though ) any other thoughts .I await with interest. For starters I hear Athletico Bilbao is good un .
This guy is worth a watch on YouTube for stadium ideas, he's done vids on San Siro recently but also does obscure and different grounds all over, very interesting videos for football fans in general

Just thinking about all the over 60’s in my family and don't think any of them have a smart phone and what’s more I don’t trust statistics
Just thinking about my family, both my parents are over 70 and have one, both my wife's parents are over 70 and have one, my Aunty is 85 and has one.

Most people my age don’t have a smart phone, to be honest I don’t even know what a smart phone is !!!!! I don’t think my £10 per month Tesco phone is a smart phone
I'm sorry but that's just hyperbole, there are plenty of surveys conducted which state that older people mostly have smart phones, here's one survey albeit from the US https://www.pewresearch.org/internet/fact-sheet/mobile/

I have a smartphone but would argue that the demographic of our crowd will not quite hit the 90% you suggest.
You seem to be arguing with no stats to back up what you think, obvs you can think what you want, but without anything to back it up it falls short against somebody who is actually providing stats.

True, however they did listen to fan outrage when that monstrosity of a shirt from TFG that has been posted on here from 2005 was released..
I genuinely can’t remember another shirt since then that has seen as much negative feedback..!
That anniversary kit mash up was terrible, did anyone actually buy it? The worst kits for me were defo the TFG ones (whoever they were), and some of the lotto ones were suspect as well!
The Yellow & Green Thorn Security one is my fave of that colour!
this site is great to see all the previous kits:

Thank god we didn’t go with them. Think I’d even rather O’Neills over Castore. The Sketchers of football shirts !
Really? I think the Castore kits look great, really good quality as well, plus the leisure and training wear is good. Interestingly Sketchers is a HUGE brand in the US, not seen as a small cheap brand like here at all, 3rd biggest trainer brand

Yellow and Green
Looks decent to me, I don't mind the alternative Robin on the front with the actual badge on the back, and it's nice to have the yellow and green back good work O'Neills

Thanks......i learnt something.
Until today, i thought it was jose who learnt from bobby, then avb who learnt from jose. Clearly not
Well there defo would have been a stage when all 3 were at Porto together, and I guess AVB might have still been at Porto when Jose took over, but I'm not 100% sure, very interesting stories though. Jose and AVB have had their critics but to have done so well, especially Jose, considering where they started is unreal!

I believe in this case it was Mourinho. (I could be wrong)
But that's not Just luck, as he got his start from sir bobby.
Wiki on Jose: Then, in 1992, an opportunity arose to work as a translator for a top foreign coach: Bobby Robson had been appointed as the new manager of Lisbon club Sporting CP and needed an English-speaking local coach to work as his interpreter. His presentation was on 7 July, alongside president Sousa Cintra, manager Robson and Manuel Fernandes. Mourinho began discussing tactics and coaching with Robson in his interpreting role. Robson was sacked by the club in December 1993. When Porto appointed him as their head coach, Mourinho moved with him, continuing to coach and interpret for players at the new club.
Wiki on AVB: He has spoken fluent English since childhood, for his grandmother was from Stockport, England. At the age of 16, Villas-Boas found himself living in the same apartment block as Bobby Robson, who was then manager of FC Porto. Following a conversation between the two, Robson appointed him to Porto's observation department. Robson arranged for Villas-Boas to obtain the FAcoaching qualification, the UEFA C coaching licence in Scotland and for him to study the training methods of Ipswich Town. He obtained his C licence at the age of 17, and his B licence at 18. He received his A licence at the age of 19, and later acquired UEFA Pro Licence under the tutelage of Jim Fleeting.

This is turning into a great thread, as well as Will Still stuff, I just learnt ..
AVB lived in the same block as Bobby Robson at 16.
Robson appointed him to Porto's observation department.
Then arranged for AVB to get his coaching Licences.
Got his "C" Licence at 17 !Does show luck plays a big part.
As a side note, just reading Gary Numan's Biography and he says the same, but adds. He believes you can reduce the amount of luck you need. He read reviews and studied where the music papers did most of their reviews and where Labels would tend to gather. Then tried to be and play those venues when he could. Interesting take on it.I did know that Mourhinho was Robsons interpreter though.
Yeh Barce fans referred to Jose as The Interpreter as an insult when he managed Real

He obviously has talent, and he ' lucked out' by one person giving him an opportunity.
Football is often seen as a closed shop, jobs for the boys etc...but analysis and such like, is more to the fore front, and people from outside football are starting to get opportunities.
Watching his training sessions and interview, it shows he has something about him. Sometimes you just nee that bit of luck.
He comes across so we'll.
AVB lived in the same apartment block as Bobby Robson when he was at Porto and chatted to him and ended up getting a job at Porto, having never played the game professionally! Unbelievable really

Based on what? Have you ever met him or do you base it on TV interviews and seeing him in the touch line? If the latter then thats a bit weird

Were you sat next to Eddie Howe?

Looking at the positives, with Luton losing tonight sitting 6th, we win our game in hand we are only 6 points behind!

No injuries and a good performance would do me tomorrow.
No way, victory tonight against the league champions would be one of our greatest achievements ever, we are not going up this season anyway, but we can make history tonight, COYR!

It's a bit like back in the day, if you were on holiday in Spain or something, you had to wait 2 days for the English newspapers to come out to find out the scores!
