The fact they have announced a new stand (of sorts) with no drawings, planning permission or even a decision on what it is, says all you need to know about the announcement.  They haven't even completed surveys to check if they can actually do anything at all!  They have just thrown the dogs a bone to cheer them up with this.

Nobody with any integrity or common sense would announce anything at all until it was at least agreed what you were planning to build and what it was to look like, and indeed whether you could actually build it at all!

The vagueness of the information combined with completely unrealistic timescales of the start of next season is mind boggling from a CEO!

Todays news that the FM has fallen through confirms that the news of the news stand was 100% announced as they knew the FM had fallen through.  I think this could really see the cat amongst the pigeons with Wael, can't see why any owner would stick around paying out money to keep them afloat with zero chance of a return down the line

I didnt realise the upgraded stand that they “should” get is actually a tin roof. They are literally tinpot.

Just watched the highlights and had read that Sykes was going to take it but Wells took it off him.

However after watching it, I am convinced it was a clever ploy so that any gamesmanship from Sunderland was aimed at Sykes, who they thought was going to take it, allowing for Wells to sort himself our and remain composed.

The keeper was trying so hard to put off Sykes, who was also protecting the spot, and then Wells just came over and took over with no complaints from Sykes, like he was expecting it. A clever plan me thinks.

    I agree 100% defo deliberate

They’ve got quite a tough run-in. It couldn’t happen could it?

I think the only thing saving them is how poor the teams below them are, I can't see any of them stringing 3/4 wins together together in order to catch Rovers, but we live in hope!

Our comms and media team are priceless!

I appreciate they don't create a programme from scratch every game and instead change the main details within a template, but if you are going to 'file' and 'save as' the last programme and then change the details, surely get somebody to check it!  I'm an Internal Auditor so I do this stuff as a job but it's not rocket science surely

You can’t prevent this entirely without making it very difficult for people to book seats together. For example, a group of 3 would only be able to book where there was 5 together, and so on.

Hey I'm just an ideas man, I don't know how it works ?

    64 left according to OS.

Not sure how we are going to sell the odd seat in the family section?

Who is going to go with their young child, and then make them sit by themselves a number of rows away?

Going to be left for some "Parent of the year award winners", who don't care as long as they get to see the match.?

I'm surprised they don't restrict how seats are booked in the family bit specifically to stop this I.e. you can't select seats which leave a 1 seat gap.with others.  I've been to gigs where that was the case as they don't want single seats left in the middle of rows

County have recently started doing a few very cheap games in order to entice new fans (pay what you want, 5 quid for adults etc). Its about the only way they can keep crowds up.

That being said, they are still a well supported, big club and so have enough of a pull, even when they're in the conference.

Rovers on the other hand would be finished if we went up, unlike County they have nothing going for them and with their ground and league position, that isn't going to change

Notts County have been top flight more recently than us!  They gave Juventus their first kits when they started out hence why Juve play in Black and White!

Yesterday the atmosphere was terrific enhanced by the impressive attendance. A large crowd against Man Utd was the atmosphere was the same. and it’ll be the same when Man City show up.

However with a modest attendance the atmosphere with AG is nowhere near as good. The way fans in the Atyeo use the acoustics to propel sound outwards.and we often hear them signing “is this a library?” because the singing section are very limited by having no roof and the sound they make dissipates upwards and  doesn’t reach the away fans.

So you agree with me, a big crowd with everyone singing creates a great atmosphere! Nothing to do with stadium design.  You have inadvertently highlighted the real issue re the singing section in that if they are the only ones singing then the atmosphere will be like a library, if everyone gets involved it's a great atmosphere.

I hope the person who hit the steward is reading this ,You should be Ashamed of yourself,I for one hope you get Banned, it was your fault for letting your child on the pitch, the steward is their to do a job,and that's what he's doing, if you can't control your child don't take him to football, or if he wants a shirt that bad, buy him one and have the players name put on it,

23,757….end highest home crowd of the season….good atmosphere today too.  Really got behind the lads.

Hang on a minute, I thought you couldn't have a good atmosphere because of the stadium design and where the singing section is? ??  Or is that for another thread @Robbored?

This season, of the 8 home games with attendances of more than 20,000, we've won 3, lost 3, and drew 2.

Last season there were also 8 such games. Won 3, lost 4, drew 1.

Season prior to that was COVID so no crowds.

In 2019/20 we had 17 games with more than 20k attending. 7 wins, 5 losses, 5 draws.

So over the last 4 years we've won 13, lost 12, drawn 8 of our 33 home games with more than 20k attending. So that's roughly a 39% won rate, a 36% loss rate, and a 24% draw rate (allow rounding).

Of really big crowds of 22k plus it's a total of 2 wins, 5 draws, and 4 losses. So not so good with the wins, but still more games where we don't lose than do.

So no, we don't typically lose home games with large crowds and away followings (all large attendances at AG have big away followings).
