Where does your inside knowledge come from?

I don’t have any , just an assumption based on what hear, read and see. May possibly be 2+ 2 and not getting 4 but my rationale:

Pearson has a year left on his contract , there appears no desire to commence contract negotiations. Pearson has been publicly critical of  Lansdown jnr in media interviews and also of te mess he inherited (rightly so). Lansdown snr for me was not exactly complimentary of Pearson during the last interview he did with Twentyman at the end of last season.
We’ve raised significant money in transfer market for Semenyo (acknowledge we used that money in January) plus Scott recently. Whilst I don’t expect us to spend it all but we have gaps in the squad for me / short term striker defence / long term GK and creativity in midfield. For us to be talking a week before the deadline oh no more incoming is a concern. As I say I’m looking at the above and does Lansdown think we’ll stay up, replace Pearson with ‘X’ and a transfer kitty to temp - May be completely wrong and hope I am

Why back him at all if that’s the case. When we improve our final position on last year I fully expect another contract to be offered

So if a decision has been made to not extend his contract, why not get rid now? Of what benefit is it to keep a manager here that is going to be leaving? Seems counter productive.

Personally I would be offering Pearson a new contract , with the mess he inherited I believe he deserves the opportunity to build a team.

However, I don’t get the impression all is well in the relationship between owner, chairman & manager and I’d be surprised if Pearson is in charge of Bristol city next season. As for why not do it now , cost I guess if the board believe we have the squad that will be in no danger of relegation why go through the expense of replacing Pearson & coaching staff?

Either a bluff, or further confirmation that Pearson won’t be backed despite all the work done to clear the decks over the last 2.5 years, and losing Scott as the season started…. Kick in the nads.

Discussed this on another thread with @Davefevs, believe the club will not be extending Pearson’s contract and decision made to offer any funds the new manager. Let’s hope it doesn’t backfire

No place for Vyner then or are you assuming he's off before the window shuts?

No. Although not signed a contract.

3 decent CB’s at this level.

Maybe even go 3 at the back with Wingbacks - Mcorie and Pring/Roberts.

Also Vyner could play RB feel he would be better than Tanner.

Use the wage offered to Kalas to Vyner

I agree we have enough to stay in the League. Having read the interview with Nigel in the Sunday Times today [he was with the journo in Scozzi in Clevedon Monday evening] and featured in another thread on here, I think he could well call it a day anyway - there appears to be more to his life than football  and there's that bucket list to achieve which he alludes to in the article as "you never know how long you've got". He's 60 tomorrow and at 67 myself I know what he means!!

Glad you do , because I don’t!! Start of every season I look for three worse teams than us and was confident we’d be well clear. No creativity and 3 shots on target in 3 games - you don’t score you’ve got problems

That's how I see it, if you heard Steve Lansdown on the Guernsey podcast he was saying that Luton got promoted with a squad of players that were not as good as ours -  inference being that our manager should have done better with his resources.

If Nige isn't backed he'll probably walk anyway, if he can't move forward he'll probably see no point in signing a new contract even if one was offered. In his recent Times interview he said there were plenty of things he still wanted to do in his life after football and he talked about not leaving it too late.

Can’t see us offering Pearson another contract , if we did would he sign but to be honest pointless discussion as don’t think club will.

The club needed a feel good factor following Scott departure , fact there hasn’t been suggested we stick with what we’ve got. Hopefully the gamble will prove correct

  6. Has anybody recently received a car insurance quote? Received a new quote and premium increased from £370.53 to £611.93. No change in vehicle, no claims , no convictions in 12 months. When asked how they can justify the increase in cost , explained they’re unable to detail their underwriting criteria !

Yep I guess so (which is disgusting).

Home fans in that part of the ground will be paying the stupid price too.

I don’t think away fans can moan at our prices when it has been shown the club are more than open to reciprocal pricing.

Whilst I again reiterate its disgusting on our part, it also shows which clubs care about the prices their away fans pay, now if they don’t agree a reciprocal price then it shows they want the extra Leeds away fan income in their coffers over their own fans saving some money.

Completely agree , and to be fair there should be an agreement across the league on reciprocal pricing. As @frenchredsays I suspect we’ll be charged top dollar by Leeds because we’ll charge the same to your fans

  9. So Leeds have tickets on sale for Ipswich (a) and are being charged £34 with Leeds stating; Unfortunately no agreement could be reached for a reciprocal pricing deal for this fixture.

    £34.00- Adults

    £27.00- Seniors aged 65+

    £20.00- Under 23s

    £12.00- Under 19s

I assume they will charge the £47 for Ipswich fans visiting ER

That can’t be right, I thought it was near £50 for away fans at Leeds

Fair play to those in the £20s, especially Leeds.

As stated above by @Mr Popodopolous. Leeds have said they will reduce the cost to away fans to reflect what their away fans are charged. They’ve reached an agreement with Cardiff for their games.

Leeds United are pleased to announce the club have agreed a reciprocal ticket pricing offer with Cardiff City.

The EFL allow reciprocal ticket offers to be agreed between clubs and we will continue to work with all other teams in the Sky Bet Championship to try and offer a better deal for travelling supporters.

As a result of the deal being struck, Cardiff City supporters who travel to Elland Road in August and Leeds United supporters who travel to the Cardiff City Stadium in January will pay the same price for tickets.

    He's better than Bournemouth.

Already accepted that he's going to leave so it's not bitterness, but it's hugely disappointing if he ends up at a small club playing in front 10000 fans.

    Tinpot.

He’s only as good as the club that are willing to pay the price for him, if that’s Bournemouth then it’s Bournemouth.

Bournemouth would give him the opportunity to play at the top level of English football and showcase his ability and talent and no doubt Scott will see them as a stepping stone to a bigger club, whilst at the time increasing his profile and also no doubt his weekly salary by a significant amount. Which I’m sure he saw is in a similar way when he joined us.

It is a shame that despite the money pumped into Bristol City in many ways we’ve not progressed beyond a middle ranking championship team, until we do we’ll see continue to see our better players leave to clubs we as fans may see as smaller than Bristol City. I’m sure we all long for the day when we’re called ‘tinpot’ by supposedly bigger clubs as we sign their better players because we can offer top flight football!
