Remember us scraping draws at home to the likes of Colchester & Shrewsbury under him with late equalisers in a very empty ground & thinking if we don’t change this then he’s taking us to League Two.

We won one of our first 12 League One games that season, it was ******* awful.

It was bloody awful and dull as ditchwater to watch

I don’t know how and why I would go to games knowing what I was about to watch - and then SC the messiah reignited my love of football

  2. With James, Williams and King regularly missing games due to injury I am sure the club will have been eyeing up midfield back up and I would be surprised if we don’t look to bring in someone in January and probably a loan

NP may also want a CB as cover as again we get too many injuries, Baker in particular

If we get a forward then can only see a youngster Prem loan as an option

Dependant on outgoing loans/sales then 3 loans inbound is the minimum I can see happening

Exactly . Kasey Palmer should be watching him & learning , not the other way round .

Forget KP, he’s not getting anywhere near the first team in fact I don’t think we will see him play for us again

Because we've looked pretty terrible for weeks now.

However, benefit of the doubt, maybe the uninspiring looking set-up will turn out to be a masterstroke.

Brum aren't all that, and if we get a hold on the game early on, who knows....

I like your optimism, I fear we will get battered tonight and bring us all back down to earth followed up by another hammering on Saturday

What like he did when he came on against Forest? O’Dowda for me is not the player you write about. One game maybe a season he’s good then it’s back to normal.

One of NPs not on the bus players?

The best I have heard NP speak post game. Very honest and thoughtful.

Reassuring that he knows the performance was poor.

    Hopefully the turning point.

Great to see Alex Ball actually doing some useful drills pre game.

It won’t necessarily be a turning point as NP spelt out in his interview, basically we are still crap but Barnsley we’re crap also and didn’t take the chances we gave them to get back into the game

Fortunately there are 3 or 4 other teams that are worse than us in this division

A common theme i'm noticing in Nige is he is incredibly honest in pointing out where we go wrong and critical where necessary, however I never get the sense he has a plan to combat what he sees.

Instead of: "we didn't play well we weren't composed"

I'd love it to be: "This performance was not the standard we strive for at City, we'll be working heavily on improving composure"

Probably because he is yet to have sufficiently capable players in the squad to play the way he wants and to manage situations on the pitch. Let’s see what happens to those who aren’t on the NP bus and who we bring in over the next few transfer windows

He may respond differently in future interviews?

Far be it from me to defend any manager from the dark side……but there’s a fair few posters on other threads here blaming previous managers and CEOs for where we are after a similar length of time.

I still think he talks bollocks though!

But then we haven’t signed a completely new squad like JB has!

I can’t see there being any fans that are 100% convinced Pearson is the man to guide us to the play offs at some point in the next 3 seasons. The jury is surely still out a little bit. Personally I will start judging him properly around this time next season. He’s got this season to sort out the club and build his team/philosophy

I agree, this time next season. He will have had 2 more transfer windows to make an impact and I fully expect the club to try and support him to improve the playing squad. If we are still churning out the same inconsistent performances and not managing games better then that will be the time to ask if NP is up to the job or not

Lost count the number of crosses he blocked. Loves a tackle too!

    Brilliant find.

He is an outstanding RB. He knows how to defend and you can tell he’s been well schooled in the art of tackling, blocking crosses and positioning himself to not be beaten on the outside or inside and doesn’t dive in and make rash challenges

Perhaps some our other players should take note, especially NB?

In those type of games in my experience, it’s usually time for someone to clatter an opponent, at least let them think the next time they receive the ball.  That’s not going in to maim them and get a red card, but there are ways to do it sensibly.

Exactly my sentiment, look how Brentford went after Chelsea and gave them a tough game. I would have been telling the city players to go out there and make sure you clatter their wide players early and rough them up. Don’t give them time in midfield to look up for a pass and turn their CBs as much as possible and make them play facing their goal - there was none of that and that’s what disappointed me

If we had done those things and put a shift in and still lost then fair enough but we didn’t and we got embarrassed

Technically good enough but mentally he’s lazy. If the penny hasn’t dropped by now it never will. I’ll be surprised if him , vyner, Moore & O’dowda are here next season . If we’re going to evolve the squad & rightly as NP says bring in better that we have , then they’re not good enough.

I think you are spot on, they have been given opportunities and not taken them. If NP wants to build progressively then the four you have listed won’t be here next season which frees up space for players he thinks will do a job for him
