  1. I don’t mind a positioning of: where we should be (based on several factors), e.g. 10-12th vs what we aim for (if we can get certain bits correct), e.g. 4-6th
  2. Haha, that’s Jack Whatmough (Preston) who is a CB but has played some minutes in CM, so gets included. No, all passes.
  3. Agree by and large. Might’ve been targeted but used his body well to put his opponent off. Defended his back post well aerially, good awareness. I do think his second shin-splints costs him half a yard of pace.
  4. Imho he’s been good all season, and latter part of last season too. We have nobody who plays like Joe. Hope we find a way to get the deal done.
  5. Only based on what went through the accounts and a few rumours. So I should’ve said allegedly, or rumoured. My bad.
  6. No, we sold him at a net loss, although the money we got from Cardiff represented his amortised value so no loss in the books.
  7. It really wasn’t going out of play. Angle tightening? Yes.
  8. It’s something I don’t really track, only cursory glances in relation to whether it’s changed in relation to total passes. It’s remained around the 46-48% mark all season.
  9. I only froze the frame at point of contact…which there was. Are you suggesting that the contact caused TC’s right leg towards his left, therefore tripping himself (albeit caused by the keeper). Certainky gives more credence to the penalty doesn’t it?
  10. And lo and behold, todays update of Opta / The analyst shows: the swing from negative xG GD into positive xG GD for the first time pre-Leeds (h) reflecting upon the improved performances and results since Easter. an upturn in rolling xG for a stabilising of xG against, maybe a slight trend of improvement (tbc) Since Easter the data shows: More build-up attacks than at any other period in LM’s reign, but importantly circa 25% of long pass sequences ending with a shot or touch in the box (previously 14%) A consistent number of turnovers in opposition final third pressing at its best level since LM was appointed, despite game-state meaning we can sit-off when ahead (we’ve led for 177 mins / drawing 444 / losing 9 (total 630)) You can use data to present both positive and negative trends, benchmark / baseline it for future reference too. Rasmus’s TedTalk might be too much!
  11. Lovely post @BillGill01
  12. Very true. The facilities for Joe and me are great in A4. A little waiting room (very warm in winter) before going outside, our own toilets and a single row of seats / cater positions for an unobstructed view.
  13. Indeed, only whoppers trying to twist it. I just saw Timmy’s reply in a quote.
  14. Nicely put, it’s not nonsense is very useful to try to measure a complex game, especially a low-scoring sport. XG along with other stuff…box entries (however much people scoff), etc, etc. is widely used, and when used beyond just in isolation.
  15. Fair play for writing this. You never know the back-story, so thanks for posting on here. Must be tough for you, and tougher for your son. All the best.
  16. Come on Timmy, Mr P updated a post last night with a new table, a few people commented on it. It’s such nonsense that it’s even been quoted by our beloved head-coach to defend performances.
  17. @Silvio Dante yes! When you take it as a 6-game rolling average / season, it can highlight some trends. Is it the be-all and end-all, nope. But nobody is saying it is all-defining are they, either?

    King

Our best hope is he stays on in a coaching capacity, but this certainly seems to signify the end of his playing time here. I think we are all going off of the many platitudes given to “Kingy” by the players and staff alike.
  19. Between Lg1 / Lg2 - 5 out of 24 each weekend round.
  20. This made me chuckle!
  21. Reckon he was a Millers fan who snook in wearing steward fancy dress!
  22. Yep, we’ve no idea yet. @Never to the dark side reckons they will be 12:30, but nothing has been said.
  23. Roberts is like the pre-shin splints Dasilva but 2 foot taller!
