    Not possible

    See my post above.

Brighton v man utd. Ref blew the final whistle ended 2-2. Var checked for a penalty. It was given.

Bruno Fernandes scored the penalty. Then ref blew for full time (again)

VAR check for a possible penalty after the final whistle.

Which raises the question…….Has anyone ever scored a goal after the final whistle?

Yeah. Bruno Fernandes penalty against Brighton. Ref blew for full time but var checked a handball I think it was.

    An electrical fault.

I wonder how much revenue they’ve lost out on.

Players probably instructed to play for extra time so they could recoup the losses in the additional time.

Don't fancy England tomorrow with the injuries.

I've bet on a Scotland win.

Love the 6 nations. Looked at tickets for Wales v Scotland and there were plenty left, and nearly all of the seats in the non alcohol zone were available. No idea if that's still the case.

    Ages and appearances are fun.

I don't believe it's an urban myth. Lukaku's mum had to bring his birth certificate to games because nobody could believe he was the age he was. This was him aged 13 I think.

The other end, I played for my rugby veterans team because I'd reached the age that you qualify (35) and not long after, one of the colts mums asked me what age group I played for believing I was still a teenager. Still get id'd now occasionally. One day it'll stop.

  6. I knew those Cameroon players would miss just based on their run ups. Such a huge moment in their professional careers and that's the run up they go with.... I don't get it. But they're the ones there and it's a situation I'll never experience.

Is he still on fifa though.

Course he would be. His name hasn't been released

However, he is no longer listed as a player on the official Premier league fantasy football. He was for a while but isn't as of now.

If you're hoping for some sort of weird scandal on this I'm afraid you'll be sadly disappointed.

I don't know what the exact reasons are why there's been no major news coverage of that specific topic, but look at Google. All of the results are from overseas. That suggests there are some kind of reporting restrictions in place, which is far from unusual.

Reporting restrictions you say? Well sherlock holmes' and Colombo's jobs are under threat with you around. Blige. ?? (I jest obviously)

As the Everton player's name has never been released by the club or the authorities, what is wrong in asking why Everton's record signing and highest earner hasn't played all season? It's not like they're doing well without him. What rules would they be breaking? They're not reporting on a crime, they're asking a football related question......???

Mendy is accused of horrific crimes and is in custody awaiting trial. As such he's de facto suspended. If convicted - and the little I've seen looks damning for him - I can't imagine him ever earning a living in the sport again. Even if a non-European club might be tempted to hire a serial rapist, he'll serve too long to be in contention on release.

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-60216445.amp

Mendy was released on bail recently but today, has another rape charge against him.

We also have the Everton player who we cannot name but that is still ongoing, and that involves a child.

  10. Each case has to be taken on its own merits. Same happened with Mendy. He was released on bail then charged and went to prison and is now out on bail again pending trial. It'll be subject to a whole host of conditions, passport surrendering, no contact with people etc.

Just to highlight my point again, let the necessary justice procedures take their course.

You realise there isn't much they can say, yes? Especially if he's been charged by that point.

Reminds me of the Manchester Derby earlier in the season. It was just after the Yorkshire cricket story about the racist abuse the player received and Martin Tyler said on commentary that footballers were leading the way on social justice...... Didn't say why Mendy wasn't playing though....

We will see what happens come Friday evening

I just can’t believe that if this was widely known in the club that it could be kept secret and more importantly there wouldn’t be at least some employees, be they players or other staff that wouldn’t take some sort of stand.  But then, if the girl and her family wanted to hush it up as well, who knows, maybe my slim hope of some decency left in the world is misguided.

It will come out in due course. Let the relevant authorities do their due dilligence and necessary enquiries and all will become clear (hopefully).

Now on to Friday nights game on ITV where United are home to Boro in the cup. Nome of the media (bbc, sky, bt sport etc) have never asked Everton why their record £45 million signing and highest earner hasn't played all season (don't ??????) so I expect some carpet sweeping on Greenwood too. Protect the brand and all that.

If there are people at Man U who knew the truth, then I doubt it was many, how could it have been kept quiet other wise, surely golden boy Rashford with his social conscience would have blown the lid if he’d known, wouldn’t he?

    ??? You're funny.

They wanted champions league football and to win the Europa league. As if they'd drop one of their top young talents in the process.

The key is the Everton game that he missed in November 2020. An arrest was made on a Manchester based player around that time and he missed the Everton game due to "illness". Course once the Mendy stuff came out, everyone thought it was him..... Well....

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.manutd.com/en/amp/news/detail/solskjaer-reveals-why-greenwood-missed-everton-1-man-utd-2-on-7-nov-2020

Could be nothing. Could just be a nasty coincidence.

A Manager who left in 2013 and is 80 years old, why would he have any idea what the current players were doing in their private lives?

He's still involved with the club on the board of directors. He still has a major role in club matters.

You're right though, he may not have known .... But solskjaer has history of covering for players who commit sex crimes.... Google babacar sarr.

First and foremost, this was a football related decision.

Course it is. Its what I've been saying the whole time about football clubs somehow being a beacon of social justice and showing zero tolerance towards discrimination of any kind.

No they're not. It makes them feel good about themselves but when the chips are down, it all goes out the window.

Just watched a YouTube video of 2 United fans talking about the greenwood situation. They believe the club knew about what he'd "allegedly" done back in late 2020 and covered it up because they wanted to finish in the top 4 and win the Europa league, and if Sir Alex knew and turned a blind eye to it then his statue should be taken down and the stand renamed.

Glad my questions were taken in the way it was meant, just a general thought really.

I’d be surprised if Rashford didn’t know who Wiley was, but it’s plausible he didn’t know about the comments.

I think you’re probably right about Tommy Robinson example though not specifically in that circumstance. It’s a little different if the questionable person is bigger than the people they’re having a photo with - I was trying to think of a better example but couldn’t but get the point you’re making

Yeah I knew what you meant by it.

I get my example wasnt quite apples with apples but I was multitasking and couldn't think of anyone else off the top of my head.

How about David Starkey? As if any footballer would be in a photo with him anyway ?

Did Wiley ask for a photo with them? Did they know Wiley’s history?

It begs the question should footballers worry about who asks them for a photo? How do they know the random fan in the crowd that asks for a photo hasnt recently posted controversial comments?

I realise this is different as Wiley is well known in his own right so perhaps they should have known, but it’s an interesting discussion. Should footballers (or anyone for that matter) be checking the background of everyone that asks for their photo?

It's a perfectly legitimate point to make. Begs the question did they ask him for a photo and only apologised after the backlash, or did he ask them. I don't know whether they knew who he was or not. I'm too trusting a person and treat it in good faith when someone says something to me (it's a problem of mine) but he's a very popular artist who was banned from all social media because of what he said about Jewish people. He's well known enough in my opinion for them to know who he was. Rashford said he got pulled in for a photo opportunity in a tweet (or his pr company said at least) ....

If 2 of our white academy players had a pic with Tommy Robinson and used the same excuse Rashford and Lingard's pr company came out with "it was a photo op, wasn't aware of any comments" , would it be as glossed over? I'd say not. I'd say they'd be out of here ASAP. But that's hypothetical and some don't like those on here.

Almost certainly. Their sponsors will want them distanced from anything to do with him. Act first, protect their interests and they can always be friends at a later date if it’s appropiate.

Same goes for sky, bt, BBC. Protect the brand.
