  1. I mentioned the old cds and tapes that used to play in our house.

There was one compilation of the greatest Christmas songs that mum used to play while we were prepping Christmas Dinner and Rock n Roll Christmas by Gary Glitter was on there. That shows how old the CD was.

Actually a good Christmas song. *puts tin hat on*

  2. May have to be redrawn.

They initially included man utd as an opponent for villareal (couldn't be an option because they played in group stage together) and arshavin drew them out and they had to select another team.

Now it's just been announced that when Atletico Madrid were drawn, they didn't include man utd as an option when they should have done.

People calling fix.... Incompetent definitely. Bunch of clowns.

  3. Films, songs, traditions

Wack them all on here. Share some ideas that others may want to follow.

Could be obvious ones, ie watching its a wonderful life on Christmas eve.

Or something obscure, Only You by The Flying Pickets was Christmas number 1 in 1983 and everytime I hear it, always reminded of Christmas growing up because it was on Christmas tapes / cds that used to be played at mum and dad's house.

The same people who would be up in arms if one of these nutters came on and twatted, say Mo Salah, broke his jaw and forced him to miss three months of football..........

As usual football will wake up when one of these idiots seriously injures a top player who then employs the same genius that got Joey Shoulder Barge off and sues the club concerned for zillions of lost revenue due to not providing an adequately protected workplace.

It's all fun and games until one player has enough and goes full Cantona mode on them when they're approaching them

  5. I rewatched both the the Sunderland till I die series recently.

Must be something about being a CEO at a football club that means they have to be so self righteous and full of themselves. Both Martin Bain and Charlie Methven are just awful cringe worthy arses. And to think Ashton is probably worse than both.

  6. It's started to get a bit more common now for some reason. Some knobhead started dressing up in rugby kits and ran on the pitch during national anthems in the recent internationals. Plus it's gathering momentum in football too. Don't get it. What is the point?

  7. I actually quite like Robbie savage as a presenter and commentator. Seems to get a lot of flack because of his wind up merchant days of being a player, but he's very honest in his approach that he had to work harder to maintain his game because he wasn't as technically gifted as other players. Course he's a class of 92 player as well.

Yep...Newcastle will be great for everyone......except maybe defenders of human, women's and minority rights, Mr Khashoggi's widow, repression and freedom?  But Hey!   Who cares where the moneys coming from, as long as theyr'e a Saudi cash cow.?

Forgive me, didn't write it fully. I meant it from a financial prospective from clubs who can milk Newcastle for all its worth because they know they have so much cash.

You're absolutely right regarding all you've noted though. The sheer hypocrisy for them to be even allowed to own a club is a joke.

As @Coxy27 says above, I think Newcastle would be the most beneficial suitors for us.

Newcastle will be great for everyone. Absolute cash cow to milk.

Have a player is worth £10 million?? charge Newcastle £15 million if they get in touch. Get a huge mark up if they come calling as everyone knows they have the money.

Championship players will want to go there. Premier league players I'm not so sure because its a relegation battle from the off.

Odd that Transfer market have his current value listed as £9m - I know that's far from accurate, but as a guide..!

Having sold him for £13m+ it would take a huge transfer fee to net us anything like "millions"

IF (&that's a big IF, based on the size of the initial fee) we had a 20% sell on clause, then it's going to take a fee of £25m+ to net us that kind of windfall.

Possible, of course, especially at his young age, but for a player who's, unproven at Premier league level, and the possibility that the sell on clause may be 10% rather than 20%, I don't think we should get too excited at the hope of this bolstering our transfer budget my any significant amount - all helps though, of course.

A player is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay.

He had bad injuries in their Premier league season and with the covid factor, people ain't worth what they would be usually.

But I'd agree, that does seem a tad low in my opinion.

Buying and selling players is like making love to a beautiful woman.

Naked gun 2 and a half

It's like having sex. It's a painstaking and arduous task that seems to go on and on forever, and just when you think things are going your way, nothing happens.

For anyone who might appreciate it, here is a link to a couple clips discussing the recommendations of the review:

The first part of a two part summary from the fab NTT20 guys. Useful to get your head around the proposals:

Another link with Neville discussing it too. Useful to hear it from a current EFL owner. He estimated 95% of EFL clubs were behind the proposals when they met to discuss the recommendations yesterday:

By sheer coincidence, I'm watching that video now. Gary mentions both us and the rovers around the 5 minute mark.

Came on here to let you all know but as this thread is already open and @CheddarReds has linked to the video, may as well just reply as is.

  13. The ref had to award a goal.

Hopefully this will make players think again when they feign injury and roll around like they've been shot every time the wind changes direction. Get this culture out of football ASAP.

Also Simon Thomas was speaking pre game about ramsdale's keeper stats and said he was second only to Mendy. Unfortunately for him, he said Benjamin Mendy and not Edouard Mendy.

About time Benjamin Mendy got a mention in the sporting media. They try and ignore it but they won't be able to do it much longer.

If you look at the fixtures for the African cup of nations it will affect the 3rd and 4th rounds of the FACup plus 2 league games.

For Liverpool that's Palace and Brentford. Chelsea have Man City and Spurs.

It probably won't make too much difference.  Depends how Egypt, Senegal , Algeria  etc do really.

I didn't look that far in to it. Chelsea playing them 2 teams with Kepa in goal though ???

Saying he expects Newcastle to spend "£200 - £300m in January" and then survive is stupid in any accent.

They can spend that amount, the tight approach under Ashley means they are way off breaking P&S rules.

But I'd argue they could sign 4 or 5 players of top quality...and it won't get them safe.

They basically need an absolute minimum of 30 more points. That gets them to 37, and an outside chance of survival. Ideally they need to hit 40, so need 33 more. They've got 24 games to do that. So they need to go from 0.5ppg to nearly 1.5 ppg, and they need to do that overnight. Their xG is appalling, and last night they were hopeless.

Furthermore, by the end of January they will have played another 9 matches including against Man City, Liverpool, plus so-called "6 pointers" against Burnley, Watford and Leeds. After those 9 games they would have only 15 remaining remaining games. So realistically unless they get 15+ points from the 9 games between now and the end of January, they could be looking at needing nearly 2 ppg to stay safe. 2 ppg is top 4 form.

It's not happening. I don't care if they sign Salah, Kante, Lukaku, Donnarumma and van Dijk in January. They're relegated.

They're going down. And I cannot wait. Full of their own self righteousness.

Their last 5 games are 2 teams who will be battling relegation with them, 2 teams going for the title, and arsenal who will more than likely be challenging for the 4th CL spot. They'll be lucky to get 2 points out of an available 15. And they won't be safe before those fixtures come around.

Great signing. Liverpool recruitment has been first class for a while now. Really interesting title race between them, Chelsea and Man City. Managed by three of the best in the world. Could be a vintage PL season.

I'm hoping it goes down to the last 2 games and all 3 could still win it. Rather than 1 club walking it being miles ahead then it just gets dull.

The season Liverpool and man city both got high 90's in points was great because both could still win on the final day. To have another club still win it that late on would be awesome.

Watch Chelsea and Liverpool crumble now and man city waltz away with it ??????

African Cup of nations will be a real nightmare for Liverpool losing Salah and mane and Chelsea will lose Mendy.

Bar mahrez, can't think of an African player for man city. Plus even if he doesn't play, they have an embarrassment of replacements
