I've had to use it at work.

It is by far and away the most bizarre thing i have ever seen.

You can literally buy anything, and i mean anything on it. From Drugs to guns(machine guns, grenades etc), to child pornography. All paid for in crytocurrency( so untracable) and delivered to you door.

It's a whole different side to the world that most people knew existed.

It is the modern day matrix.

The one and only time I've ever heard of it was on Elementary as Sherlock says he finds things and tried to track people down on there in a load of episodes. Never thought that it was a real thing as they were describing.

I thought the same when the cricketers started kneeling in Sharjah. Amazing.

With regard the W/C. Is it possible the players could boycott the tournament itself? I mean, they're not contractually bound or anything are they?

If they had anything about them, they'd have forfeited their selection as a matter of principle.

"ZeRo ToLeRaNcE tO rAcIsM aNd AlL fOrMs Of DiScRiMiNaTiOn" they keep telling us. About time they did something tangible with that. End of the day, they do this "protest" because a terrible murder happened 4000 miles away in Minneapolis that has no relevance to British football. Qatar is also 4000 miles away and has a direct relevance to football yet not a word from anyone bar some other countries wearing a few tshirts ?‍♂️?‍♂️?‍♂️

Practice what you preach and all that. People shouldn't be afraid to call out people's BS. I've done it to people from all walks of life, and it's about time the media started putting these guys under fire too.

Gordon Strachan had it right about morals in football. Don't think I've seen him on TV since

  3. I've boycotted this world Cup. Have not watched any of the qualifiers and won't watch next year.

If the footballers really cared about racism and all forms of discrimination, they'd have boycotted the world Cup a long time ago. Yet none of them have. I'm sure the families of the slaves that died building the stadiums they'll be playing in will appreciate them kneeling down though.

    Seconded, it's a great show.

I find I miss a lot of the dialogue though as I'm too busy trying to spot locations I recognise!

There's has been some pointing going on in the batcave watching this. In episode 3 when they're on the boat, I thought if the drone went higher, Ashton Gate may have been viable in the distance but it wasn't. Cut away too early.

  5. Was watching the champions league game the other night and bt had an advert with Joe Cole about the impact of climate change and what "we" (as in us) can do. One of them being not flying.

Course, the irony being it was champions league week where I believe that every club playing away would have flown to and from their match.

These ideals are for us plebs. Not for the wealthy elite who can carry on as normal. We're the problem, not them.

If they really care about the effect of flying on the climate, do away with the champions league...... Let's see some tangible effort made by the preachers for once.

Indeed, but on 4 rape charges?

Not to rehash the Everton player because his name has been kept out of the news (we all know who it is). He was suspended following his arrest pending further investigations, and that one 1 count of child sex act, and he's still suspended by the club.

People knew about Bennell, ahd I find it almost impossible to believe that Man City weren’t aware of the rumours about him.

Man City knew about Benjamin Mendy following his arrest in November 2020 and continued to play him, rather than suspend him pending investigations.

Well said Headhunter. I’ve been having similar thoughts myself. Clough without Taylor is a very good comparison (as the film The Damned United shows, for those who are too young to remember Clough & Taylor’s managerial heyday in the 1970s).

I was chuffed to bits when Nigel was first appointed, and really want him to do well. Whilst I am still behind him, I can’t deny I am starting to have the odd doubt.

    Great film the Damned United.

    First 15 seconds of this.

I do wonder whether that is what the Leeds board said to clough when they sacked him

You should definitely hunt them out, there are some cracking episodes. The UFO one has some really bizarre people and the swingers one is eye opening.... ?

Yeah now I know they are there, I'll go through them.

Last night after the Thai bride episode I watched the Boar Separatists in South Africa and the Black Nationalists in New York.

He does find some great people to spend time with.

    Morning all,

I’ve recently rediscovered a documentary made when I was just a mere 20 year old, back in 2000.

It’s a Louis Theroux documentary entitled “looking for love” and follows the plight of older Englishmen looking for love via the avenue of Thai brides.

Most importantly you’ll make Lake Palmer. Arguably the funniest ever character to not be fictional.

You’ll need a spare 47 minutes, but I assure you it’s the greatest program ever made. It’s available now on BBC iplayer. Season 3, episode 5 of his weird weekends collection.

Watch it ASAP, or otherwise I’ll be forced to destroy you verbally (this is an in joke!).

    Enjoy.

I now have a spare hour. I'll let you know at half 8 ish.

I don't suppose anyone has any tips with regards to finding new employment?

The staff at my level in my current employment have been treated pretty poorly over the last 18 months and we have poor employment terms as it is. I've been trying to find a new job but find it so difficult. The combination of these two things is definitely starting to take its toll on my mental health.

    Where are you based?

The first thing I did was sign up to Indeed and all the other job sites...and made sure my CV was searchable. I then made sure I got registered with all the agencies out there....It works trust me!

A good idea in theory but it went against me once. May not for others.

When I was being made redundant I did what you suggested. But 2 different agencies got me interviews with 2 different teams of the same company. Needless to say, nobody was very happy with me but I didn't know they were for the same company as they didn't say who the job was for on either of them.

But I never gave up hope and I had a few mins spare one day and found a role which I thought would be a perfect fit for me, still there now and I'm doing great and I'm appreciated by my bosses. At the time I was so scared that I wouldn't get a job because my wife wasn't working and we had a newborn and the redundancy was just more of an added pressure. This was also around the time of the court case that some of you will be aware of. They made me redundant a week before the trial started. I was sure to thank them on my last day for being so thoughtful.

  12. I thought this would be the final update. My divorce came through last week. Decree absolute granted and its all finalised..... Glorious

    ....

    ....

And then it has come out that her relationship and adultery started months before the date she originally gave me when I found out. I based my divorce statement in good faith that it started when she told me and I alluded to comments she made in a whatsapp conversation we had, she then signed the paperwork saying that it was all true, but it's now come out that she lied.... Just don't understand why she'd continue to lie about it, especially on legal documentation. Perjury??? We shall see.

Your sleep pattern should slowly get back to normal...if you wake at 3 so be it......the more you think about it the more it will keep you awake. I often wake at 2 or 3 and just think "oh well, I'm awake, so what ?"...... to then slip back to sleep for a few more hours. The times I've had a quick look on this forum early hours, you'd be surprised how many people are online at that time so we aren't alone...?

That's true. I always thought it was more shift workers but suppose it could well be that and I've just assumed.

I made a decision never to look at my phone in the event I stay on it for ages.
