  1. Sweden win 1-0 with a goal in time added on. They were the better side but Belgium probably deserved extra time for their stoic display. So it's Sweden for England and nothing to fear unless the Swedes improve significantly.
  2. It was tight but if Brooker's 'goal' against Cardiff was ruled offside then this was a mile off by comparison.
  3. Thats a very good loan to Cheltenham (although in his mind he was going to Carolina). I hope that when he gets his chance they play him on the right though so he can show them his best form. He really isn't a left sided player.
  4. Tonight's Sweden v Belgium game will determine England's semi final opponents. Sweden are at 2 on the FIFA rankings list so are clear favourites but the Belgians have done well to make it to the knockout stages and have nothing to lose. Interesting comment that they're both big teams. Presumably excluding the Belgian left wing back who's tiny and I'd be surprised if she's 5ft tall.
  5. Obviously a variation of couldn't hit a cows ass with a banjo. Either way it makes you wonder why you'd want to.
  6. Excellent news. I think this lad has what it takes and given the chance will score goals.
  7. And Liam Payne and that bloke wo used to front the One Show. Niall Horan supports Derby County
  8. Warren Mitchell - Tottenham Hotspur (not West Ham like his Alf Garnett character)
  9. No way Bentley holds the winner, Basso maybe.
  10. That's it! Neither Vingegaard in yellow and polka dots or Van Aert in green will be beaten for their jerseys on the road now. Only a cruel Covid test will prevent them being on the top of the podium in Paris. Partly due to retaining their complement of riders Ineos will likely win the team competition despite both Jumbo Visma and UAE Emirates being the strong teams in UCI right now. Ineos have serious work to do to again be the leader of the pack and will certainly need a fit again Egan Bernal. No 3 in a row for Pogacar but he will go home with White jersey at least.
  11. The Daly positioning is really interesting considering she is a forward in club football. But Serena Weigman is not the first Lionesses coach to play her at left back. I have to agree that Bonmati was the pick of an excellent Spanish midfield but I was impressed by their full backs too, Batlle on the right and, especially, Carmosa on the left. They only started to fall off once England pushed more forward and Keira Walsh found more time on the ball. I hope it was only cramp at the end because she's vital to the Lionesses style of play.
  12. They don't call it diving. The new buzz phrase is anticipating the contact that never came.
  13. That's what was said. She's scared stiff of the winger and I'd bring on Greenwood or Demi Stokes.
  14. This is tough. Spain have been really good at denying Keira Walsh time and space to operate, while their full backs, have been all over Hemp and Mead like a rash. England are usually better 2nd half though so I'm hoping to see enough improvement to eventually come out on top.
  15. Ephraim Yeboah, Tim Ap Sion and Billy Phillips with the goals.
  16. Not on topic but I noted that City's U-18s beat Clevedon Town 3-1.
  17. So in other words if her grandfather, father, uncle and brother got their career jobs on merit she probably did to.
  18. 'she's clearly got the job through her family connection' You don't know that you're just assuming it. Researching further her LinkedIn page: I'm a multimedia journalist that has worked across a range of national and regional press, television and radio, with my expertise being in sport. I'm organised and can adapt my communication skills to a variety of demographics. Having been brought up in a footballing family, born in England, raised in Scotland and spending my teenage years in New Zealand, I’ve been exposed to different cultures and sporting environments around the world. It goes on to give numerous references and examples of her work. In short therefore while you could be right she might also have got the gig on merit.
  19. Aren't we getting a little heated about nothing. She is not presenting on a major sports network, at the Euros or heaven forbid at the BAFTAs wiith thousands, possibly millions watching on but on Robins TV in front of at best a few hundred viewers. She may be cutting her teeth here but it's good enough at present and everyone has to start somewhere.
  20. 2-2 another from Conway and another assist from. Wells. I sometimes think Conway is the most natural finisher at the club.
  21. Good goal from City. Excellent ball from Omar Taylor-Clarke and Nahki showed good pace to get to the byline and cross for Conway to tap in.
  22. Not so much bad as strange. Osbourne seeking the opinion of Semenyo on Scott as if Antoine was a 30 something seasoned pro, rather than being a rising star himself.
  23. Looks like Araoye had his weetabix this morning. I think the Exeter player is enquiring about the number plate of the truck he bounced off.
