  1. Like other posters I agree it's a sort of rehash of EFL on Quest but with less highlights and more chat, a presenter who's going to have to do better than his current monotone delivery (he ain't no Colin Murray) and no badges showing suppirt for prostate cancer. Need to give a little time to see if it improves.
  2. Here we go again! Dodgy pen and a stoppage time deflected goal. I don't want it but VAR in the Championship would surely have overturned the pen. We didn't play well 2nd half but should still have come away with a point. Oh well we go again against Sunderland next week.
  3. Is it that difficult to understand? He clearly didn't do enough in training to merit a place in the team.
  4. Dreadful news. Stay strong Nick and I will pray for a full and speedy recovery.
  5. I'm wondering what will appear if you scan the bar codes on the sleeves.
  6. I have had pies at the Gate but not often as I'm not a fan of what's on offerand they fall apart in your hand. If I'm going to have a pie I'd sooner pick up a Clark's on Ashton Road. It's half the price and stays together. If I'm going to splurge on food at the Gate then for me it's the Goat Curry. Not cheap but it's tasty and different from the normal football fayre.
  7. Germany it is. They are not free flowing but represent a threat through Popp, whose 6 goals equal that of Beth Mead. Oberdorf is certainly a commited defender, especially for a 20 year old. Looking forward to the final.
  8. Hoping Germany can get the better of France tonight. The pace of the French attack including the strength of Diani and the height of Renard could make them trickier opponents in the final than the solid but unspectacular Germans.
  9. Phenomenal! What a 2nd half.! 3 great but very different goals. Impact substitutions were amazing. We even had the luxury of Keira Walsh missing a couple of passes. Bring on the Germans, or the French, I don't care.
  10. Great half and great goal again. As you would expect from a team that hasn't lost in 34 games (excluding penalty shoot outs) Sweden are dangerous but we just have to keep our concentration and control. Once again I counted zero passes from Keira Walsh that did not find an England shirt.
  11. The Guardian has given it a little more thought than most and come up with something different from the usual predictios but I'm not sure I put too much store in. It certainly doesn't start well suggesting that Kompany did well to guide Aanderlecht to consecutive 3rd place finishes. For Aanderlecht not finishing in the top 2 in Belgium is a bloody disaster!
  12. Don't need to ask grandad (even if I still had one living). I'm old enough to remember pounds, shillings and pence, quarts, pints and gills, stones, pounds and ounces etc, could do arithmetic in all measures, and even do long multiplication and long division showing all the workings. I even know how to convert Centigrade to Fahrenheit and vice versa, and in no version do you multiply/divide by 2 and add/subtract 30.
  13. Not that it matters much but reports coming out of Sheffield are that he signed an initial 2 year deal with Wednesday and that they paid a 5 figure sum. Don't know if any sell on clause involved.
  14. Sam Bell and Tommy Conway have come up through City's youth system together and know each others game so well it's almost telepathic. It's one of the reasons that the development squads have been so successful in recent years. The problem Sam has is that at 1st team level he and Tommy are currently being viewed as either or rather than as a pair, so one will by necessity advance faster than the other. At present Tommy would appear to have the lead as a striker because he seems more physically mature than Sam. It may be that we don't see the best of either until they can spearhead City's front line together, something envisaged by Tinnion down the line.
  15. Credit where its due the Club has done extremely well this year, and a far cry from problems of the past, especially the Adidas years! I clicked and collected the home shirt but had the third kit delivered and it was here in a couple of days.
  16. In honesty I thought Stoney was a poor comedian but a genuinely generous man who was a real City character and persona who will be missed by many. Given his long association with City, not just as a supporter, he deserves to be properly remembered by the Club with a fitting tribute. RIP Stoney with condolences to family and friends.
  17. Fair enough I know what you mean but even singers are a matter of taste. For example I don't think Bono or the whiny Manc Liam Gallagher can sing but some, presumably tone deaf, people seem to like them. Bob Dylan, who is a genius for me, wouldn't win any singing contests but it seems to suit his music.
  18. TBF I'm not sure what you expect. Not all the bands are to my taste but they have to cater for a wide range of musical styles.
  19. Not sure but possibly because Pearson is a better judge of a footballer than any of us?
  20. I like it. Reminds me of my old PE teacher during games lessons shouting at me that goals, with my right foot don't count, left foot goals only. Harsh but made me, a, two-footed player.
  21. Raphael Aroaye a 17 year old central defender from the u18s. Really big lad.
  22. James Hill was a very interesting signing for Bournemouth. Reputedly a 7 figure sum and a club record sale by Fleetwood Town.

  24. Seriously hoping that JP gets the commentary gig for France v Netherlands and that ex Dutch international Anouk Hoogendijk is on the panel again so that, assuming he doesn't suffer from Triskaidekaphobia, he can tell us how many times she played for Bristol Academy in the inaugural WSL season.
