  1. Wilson for Sykes on Sunday and more of the same please.
  2. Great team performance where every player put a shift in. I think the red is a little harsh but its not worth appealing as its a close call that would likely see the equivalent of 'umpires call' in cricket. Clean sheet is a real bonus.
  3. For the first time in their history FC Andorra are playing in the Segunda in Spain. Interestingly they are owned by Gérard Pique. I wonder what the position would be should they gain promotion to La Liga and Gérard Pique remains a player at Barcelona.
  4. I see that former Blackburn Rovers, Burnley, Swansea, Bury and Hartlepool midfielder Lenny Johnrose has died from Motor Neurone Disease at just 52. Condolences to family, friends, his former clubs and their supporters.
  5. Let's return to the ball moving forward from a kick off. Push it forward to someone who tries to lob the keeper as they're usually way off their line at kick off. I hate this passing backwards nonsense.
  6. I heard nothing at the time and only know about it through reading the same report as you. Absolutely disgraceful. Pleased to report i didn't hear a sexist chant from the City fans at Wigan. Long may it continue.
  7. I want to keep him and we have a one year option so there's no rush. However, if he is going to go I hope the links with the three clubs are genuine and we can generate a bidding war.
  8. Oh for a return of the days when we all wrote proper English and not revert to text speak.
  9. He also picked up the Man of the Match award.
  10. The 'sending off that wasn't given' wasn't shown on the EFL on ITV4 tonight.
  11. Just got back from Wigan and another frustrating afternoon watching City. For the first 20 minutes we were brilliant, playing fast flowing football on the deck that ran Wigan ragged. We scored a good goal (Weimann 4 in 4), may have won a soft penalty and should certainly have seen Wigan down to 10 men. The refs decision was bizarre. If he didn't see it then it was nothing, if he did it was a stonewall red. What it wasn't was a yellow which is what he gave. We created other good situations withou testing the keeper. But after 20 minutes we stopped playing and handed the initiative back to Wigan, merely lumping the ball towards Martin who hardly won an aerial ball all game. But then that's not his strength as he wants the ball to feet to layoff. Apart from one header 2nd half when Conway should have scored we weren't in it and the inevitable equaliser, albeit a scrappy goal, came. Must do better.
  12. All the matches shown will feature Barca, Real or Atletico Madrid. So if you hoped for the Valencia v Villareal derby then you're out of luck. Once again English tv favours the priveleged few.
  13. I see that City's that match tickets for City U21s first 2 home fixtures at the HPC are available to ST holders on a first come first served basis. This is fine if you can get along but I also note that no City U21 fixtures will be streamed on Robins TV this season, not a service for those with a keen interest in our future.
  14. If you're there before kick-off look out for the partridges flying in to the ground.
  15. 2-1 up now. Second from Palmer-Houlden converting a penalty after he was brought down by their keeper.
  16. Against Sarr I'd agree but give Denis a kick, he doesn't have the cohonas to play against proper men.
  17. I liked this tribute too. It was tasteful, well presented and covered the needs of family and friends alike. I'm for a single tribute either at the end of the season, or the beginning of one for friends we've lost in the last year but if the feeling is for something more frequent we could do it once per month.
  18. On that list, given his length of service with Barca and number of Spanish caps Gérard Pique looks underpaid.
  19. What would constitute the Bristol area or qualify a player? To play for Bilbao you need to be born a basque, but not necessarily in Spain. French basques count and Fernando Amorebieta was born in Caracas, Venezuela. Do we claim anywhere in the West Country (whatever that is defined as) or anyone born to a Bristolian.
  20. Perhaps he didn't fancy being another Galactico striker who fails to keep Karim Benzema out of RM.
  21. Bit of a risky move, but a brave one, for Wallsend Geordie Boy Sting to get his band mates together to take on the Mackems. Not sure that it'll be a message in a bottle he'll be receiving.
  22. We know it doesn't look as bad as Derby's old Baseball Ground where the local paper ran a Spot the Grass competition, but things have moved on. What interests me though is the quote "The match official that inspected said he wouldn't have played a League Two game on it, let alone a Championship game" . If true he could get in trouble for that remark.
  23. Funny isn't it, Man Utd defend worse than we do. I suppose their fans console themselves that while Man City have had the bragging rights in the past few years, have them now, and will likely for a few years yet, no matter how much money they have, or how many titles they win, they'll be seen as a bigger club that Utd.
  24. The perennial problem continues and its disappointing that we haven't brought in the quality of sound engineer to sort the problem. But let's not pretend it's an easy fix. Tannoy systems in outdoor stadiums are much harder to set up than in indoor arenas and anyone who's been to concerts will know how the sound quality can vary there. Many factors affect performance and how the stands are open to the elements, the infrastructure from which the sound may bounce off and the numbers in the stadium are just some of them. If you've ever seen a gig at the Colston Hall you will have witnessed how the sound quality can differ between a half full auditorium for the support band the the full house for the main act. Equally, how open or closed in a, stadium may be can significantly affect sound quality. Many other football grounds have rubbish tannoy systems too.
