  1. Nige said in his pre match today that he needs to take his chances when they come along and train to a high standard every session. Guess he's not quite doing it in training to force an opportunity for himself at the moment.

    Attractive mind.... 😂

We must be a pretty attractive proposition.

    New stand coming along.
Eulogised by many for our signings and team staff structure.
Had close to a mil to spend but messed it up.
Training ground that championship clubs train on.

It's certainly as attractive or more attractive than we've ever been.

Whoah there, lets break this down.

Stand? Hmmm shelter more like and they've even ballsed up the legal work on it, it remains without planning permission.

Eulogised by who and for what now?

Yep, messed it up but certainly wouldn't of been paying the full amount up front. They have a few sheckles but forget they've just used some of it to bring Martin in.

Does that make it a Championship standard training ground then? We had an international side use ours, we wouldn't claim world class facilities.

If that's as attactive as your club has ever been, then your club is a minger.

  3. Having a nose their forum, came across this post from August. It's aged so well and reads fantastic in contrast to today's news...

This start of season feels so very different, doesn't it?

A renewed sense of purpose is running through Bristol Rovers. I can certainly feel it as well in the positive vibes from many on gas chat. The prospect of glory, promotion and possibly champions is certainly worth thinking about.

Our squad, strengthened seemingly every week, have returned to the training pitch with a fire in their bellies that's unmistakable as seen in our recent performances.

Joey Barton's passion is infectious and clearly attracts top players. We can be confident about the future. There's an aura of determination and unity around this club that's the hallmark of any footballing success.

A winning culture is being forged, and for those of us who've stood by Rovers through thick and thin, this feeling is as precious as silverware.

The whispers of hope are growing louder, not only within the stands but within gaschat. Our Dreams, long held in check, are converging with the reality of what our club can achieve. No longer looking down but looking up to the future.

Joey Barton has nurtured a spirit that is seen in of champions, and our style of play is imbued with the same energy, the same hunger that defined the great teams of yesteryears.

This season, the road to promotion is in front of us. The bus is here, as it has been since 2011, ever hopeful, waiting for us to climb aboard and carve our name in the annals of Bristol Rovers football history.

For me, I am daring to dream of the unattainable - To be Champions - the ground-breaking goal. Like everyone, I’ll take promotion in anyway.

With the right mindset and the talent in our squad anything is possible.

The bus is ready to ride again.

Think they will find that the bus has been jacked up on bricks and some scouser has had the wheels!

  4. Nathan Jones, John Eustace, Warnock to name 3 they are already talking about.

Get real, it's predictably going to be someone who got sacked from a L1/L2 club in the last year or so or an internal appointment.

Remember Barton said he was working for free, so this next appointment will cost them😂

  5. “I’ve had conversations internally here, yes, and, look, the most important thing is that we concentrate very much on the football side of it,” Pearson said. “My job will always remain the same, and that is to support my staff and our players and that we do everything we can to continue to look forward with a bit of optimism in terms of what we can achieve on the pitch - that’s the biggest thing.

“I’m well aware of what I am and sometimes how I frame things can be an irritant for other people, but I say what I think.”

“I’ve had a chat with Tom this week who I think will be really good for the football club in terms of his role as the COO, he’s liked but most importantly he’s very well respected within the training ground in terms of his integrity and what he brings.

"So early days for him,” Pearson added, with a chuckle. “Baptism of fire, maybe, but he’ll be fine and I think he’s a really good appointment for the club.

“So I spoke to him, I spoke to Gavin as well. Whatever happens behind the scenes, it’s not about being particularly aggressive, it’s about voicing opinions and for every one opinion, there’s a counter opinion and so, I think it’s just something we’ll try to resolve.”

  6. Nige can't win. His successes only highlight the failures that were here when he arrived and we all know who is ultimately responsible for those.

Perhaps he was only hired to demolish and put down foundations, which he has done very well. If so, he's done his job and you bring in the next contractor to do their bit.

Personally i like where Nige has got us to in his time here already and with perhaps a signing or 3 more we'd be able to sustain a play off push. If it were up to me, i'd extend his contract at least until the end of next season now and if we are still top ten in Jan, release the purse strings a bit.

would they have someone lined up or will there be a vigorous/rigorous search taking weeks for the next chap?

Surely Jason and Curtis would be out too?

As a matter of principle I think the whole back room chooses to follow him if he goes.

We'd end up with King as caretaker or something.

Just had an email from Stream AMG, they have now reversed the transaction, took £140 back, said they will then send the partial refund shortly. Blamed a system error for it but no apology or prior warning, got a notification from my bank at the same time as the email arrived.

What if you don't have the funds in your account at the time or if you do, what if you can't afford the £140 today? Thankfully i did but might not be the same for everyone.

I've since had the partial refund paid back of £7.50 which covers both the Leicester and Stoke games. That's all fair enough but baring in mind i never even asked for a refund, it's been a right old mess and i appear to have gotten off lightly compared to some of the rest of you.

As mentioned above, we are customers of BCFC, not Stream AMG. We shouldn't even be hearing from them but it was them that issued me the full refund and BCFC the partial one. Whole thing has been a total mess.

I think lumping all into one thread is unrealistic - you’d get Massengo comments next to a reply about John Galley and it’d be unreadable.

The other thing is many ex-player threads, as I’ve said, veer onto other things. The Lita Undr The Cosh one veered into discussion about that pod, the Massengo one about Burnley’s transfer strategy generally (with contribution from a visiting Claret, which would be less likely in a sub forum and for which the thread was richer). An “ex player” thread isn’t always an “ex player” thread.

Your first comment is the clincher here. And I’d also note, albeit it’s a small sample, that the new forum had a post about Bas Savage - two responses, including one person saying it justified the forum. Yesterday a post re “rise like a salmon” was made on the main forum - about Cheese, hasn’t been moved, lots of engagement. Proves the point.

It’ll make engagement worse. If there is no harm in a trial, then there’s also no harm in having a poll before splitting the forum into sub sections and surely that would have been the best thing here? As it stands, we’ve given a solution to a problem that didn’t exist.

Yeh I agree, just chucking out some ideas to try mediate.

If it ain't broke, don't try and fix it!

Anyway, does anyone know what Bas Savage is upto these days?😀
