If EFL had any they'd take a big stick to Derby who having argued in court that Pride Park was 'worth' £81m has just seen it sold for £22m.
Although it’s only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it at the end of the day

Can i nominate DRS as driver of the day

Was there today but was only able to still until tea due to a prior commitment, i now know how those Man Utd fans in 1999 and Liverpool in 2005 who left early thinking it was all over felt

What’s amused me the last couple of days is how many people claimed to be in the know of his bank account

I suspect they’ve been given time because there was a real prospect of a buyer - which there probably wasn’t with the likes of Bury. A big name club is simply a more saleable asset with more prospect of becoming a going concern.
Wider point I’m making though is nothing is going to change until one of the so called bigger clubs goes pop. Otherwise it’ll be another name going into administration and on life support
It’s easy for the bigger clubs to ignore what happened to Bury but not so easy if it’s Derby

I’ve no particular beef with Derby but surely the time has come for a so called big club to be allowed to die as a warning to every other club including ours that lives beyond its means
In the last twenty years we’ve had this with Leeds and Portsmouth and Bolton and if Derby survive it’s only a matter of time before some other club gets into this sort of mess
The fact they’re a so called big club means they’ve already been given a lot more leeway than Bury did for example and the time has come to set a hard deadline with an explicit warning that if it’s missed they be expelled from the league
Having a bigger club die would hopefully focus some minds on reform which probably wouldn’t happen otherwise and deal with the financial gulf between the premier league and the championship whilst levelling the playing field in the championship. None of this is likely to happen when clubs are allowed to soldier on having paid only a fraction of their debts

I think it’s realism more than pessimism. We aren’t going to turn into world beaters overnight. And many recognise that. I’m as happy with a committed squad of fighters as I am with ‘names’ even if the results are wildly different.
It can be done though, Huddersfield jumped from finishing 18th to losing the playoff final in one season courtesy of some shrewd transfer business

Apologies for the mammoth post but a picture truly speaks a thousand words...how they were allowed to get away with so much for so long is baffling.
They are founder members don’t you know

Would be interesting to know how many more keepers shirts they’ve sold in the last few years to before

Because Wales have earned the right due to a better qualification campaign.
That doesn’t make it fair though especially when every other year it’s over two legs. Obviously Ukraine would’ve had to hold theirs at a neutral stadium

How is it fair to have a one off final at one teams stadium. I know they’ve tried milking these playoffs by having more teams than normal involved but surely a one off match where the winner goes to the World Cup should be played in a neutral stadium
-
Also bizarre that both Bristol clubs season tickets cost more than Man Utd although it was during their barren period

Given some of the decisions Huddersfield were on the receiving end of it’ll be interesting to see what if any pressure gets put on the PGMOL, normally these wrong decisions in the premier league don’t cost teams upwards of £100 million
Might ruffle a few feathers if Huddersfield suggested taking legal action..

He did say he didn't like loans - he then went on to explain his reasons, he doesn't see them as providing value, he questions the commitment of loan players, he doesn't want outside influences while he is trying to build the correct mentality, he wants more equality within the squad.
I'm sure if there were players available on loan that would improve us enough to get us to the prem then we would go for it but at the moment we would probably need 5 or 6 so what's the point wasting money.
The way you're presenting it it's like he has made a decision without explanation and stubbornly refuses to change his mind, it's not that.
He also makes the point about why pay to develop someone else’s players when you can develop your own for free

I’m torn, with the arrogance forest’s fans have shown I’d love to see them stay down but if they do sky will spend all next season fawning over them

Can’t help but think if an English side played like that and won the reaction around Europe would be that our sides can’t play but because it’s Real Madrid they’re world beaters
I don’t really get the anti Liverpool stuff though, they’re a english based team and I’ve even supported arsenal in a champions league final before. Don’t get why people wanted Madrid to win yet another one

Seems as though Luton weren’t aware he was coming to us…
We have learnt that Kal Naismith has agreed to join Bristol City when his Luton Town contract comes to an end next month.
We were surprised to discover from our fellow Championship club’s announcement, without advance warning as is the usual etiquette, that the 30-year-old has rejected the opportunity of a new contract at Kenilworth Road.
The Scot joined the Hatters as a free agent after departing Wigan Athletic in January 2021, and leaves with a total of three goals from 68 appearances, including 45 last season while winning two player of the year awards as Town reached the play-offs.
Out of interest is it us or the player who’d normally notify Luton?

I see there’s an option for choosing specific seats for this game, is this a new thing or just for this game?
Could possibly solve the age old argument of whether it’s sit where you want versus sitting in your allocated seat
