Think it's more a case of where does the revenue go.

Chelsea could - I would imagine - donate their share, meaning Boro and the FA still get their cut.

    Who knows.

I did see on twitter also that Boro would have to take responsibility for the away fans it sold tickets to and wouldn’t have access to who was banned etc

Theres no chance of it being behind closed doors though

I think it’s because they didn’t start this season in admin, only went in part way through. So can start the next season in admin but couldn’t start 23/24 still in admin.

Although isn’t that kind of irrelevant as they’d still need funding and currently have no real assets with their better players out of contract in the summer

I would think there handling of this case would have an impact on their whole business.

I’ve heard a few times no other administrator would touch it, because of Mel Morris? Or some other reason which might not be their fault?

Although i did find it odd that there was no real effort to sell any players like others have done

Cool, if this was our current squad that got us relegated to league 2, the level of animosity towards them would be unbelievable, yet thats not how the 8 are remembered.

I understand the levels of salary arent the same as now, but they were still making a good living, yet some of them, in some form, must have been horrifically underperforming?

im trying to get some idea of whose responsibility it was that the collapse was that bad.

I get where you’re coming from but it’s probably unfair to just blame the players. From some simple research it appears anyone of any value was sold off and sometimes for less than they were worth and not replaced.

So perhaps falling through the leagues was inevitable and remember while we were the first Wolves also suffered three consecutive relegations no long after

However what’s always amazed me is how those running the club seemed to escape scrutiny. It appears there was a lot of taking more money out of the club than was being put in as well as a lot of incompetence. Maybe it was a different era but whereas Risdale at Leeds was crucified although has somehow remained in football those allegedly managing the club just seemed to disappear into the background

    Mickey Mouse club.

Why won’t they play tomorrow? Absolutely pathetic outfit.

Surely it depends on how much damage there is and whether having 12 hours to repair it is realistic

He did play, in Hong Kong, but by then even only 30 he was well past it. Few seem to wish to accept with these players City were already hurtling over the cliff, they were either past it or never were to have it. We've had loads of talented players over the years who for injury or sometimes just age, lose that they once had overnight.

Guess that explains why that part of the story gets glossed over

30 was old back then. I remember a past it Kevin Keagan playing for England in the World Cup Spain 1982 he was only 31 but long past his best.

It is interesting how it’s different now but guess there’s now more knowledge about how to look after yourself these days

I have been thinking long and hard about posting this but today I am ashamed to be a football fan , from the behaviour of our fans on the train down to Swansea from Parkway to being rounded up outside the station to the City fans damaging the new Mercedes with the casually  thrown flare onto its roof ,to the mini ambushes from the Swansea fans and the fighting between sections of fans on route to the ground , I thought the way the police handled a horrible situation well as can be expected along with the vile abuse they received from some city fans I have been supporting city 40 years and that 1 and a half hours from train arriving to kick of was disgusting

You could argue behaviour breeds behaviour. On visiting our place both Swansea and Cardiff supporters were given the freedom of Bristol to do what they liked whereas when we’ve visited Wales we’ve been kettled either before or after the game and this has magnified the behaviour of some of our less savoury fans.

As for the police escort, they might as well have put a big arrow on top of the bus saying Bristol City supporters here. And after the game they had a whole two single decker buses that were absolutely rammed so was a complete shambles

  8. It’s funny, i remember both Swansea and Cardiff fans being given the freedom of Bristol when at our place and yet welsh police are preventing those who travelled by train to leave the front of the station. And it’s raining

It’s not actually new it’s been around about 3-4 days after the race.  It just seems to have gained traction all of a sudden.

It’s not really a smoking gun but does make for uncomfortable listening. Kinda get the impression F1 and it’s more prominent commentators have put the whole situation in the too difficult to deal with pile and thought if they kept quiet it would all go away and yet it hasn’t

In the meantime the new cars look cool but Abu Dhabi and the sports credibility lurk just beneath the surface
