For me a good solid Left Back is a priority in January and has been for 18 months or so. JD is clearly not on the bus. Cam Pring is ok but think he is better further forward giving COD competition at LWB.
"Someone to stick the ball in the back of the net" would be good but it seems that Wells, Martin and Weimann are on the bus so not really a vacant seat until the summer when Martin and or Wells will hopefully be phased out.

To be fair to him he was already falling backwards when the ball squirmed free. Can't blame him for missing a sitter just unfortunate imo.

I watched Bakinson a lot yesterday. He worked both ways yesterday, I saw no laziness. When Williams was dictating play from deep he was trying to break beyond the Blackburn back line. And as per one of my photos in another thread, he tucked in when Baker went for a header in his area. His passing was a bit off yesterday, but I could not fault his application. Think Williams communicates well too, which helped him.
I noticed him doing this in a game earlier in the season Villa or Blackpool, I think. Dropped back in when the CH went forward. Good signs of football intelligence and doing the basics automatically.

Interesting, if difficult listen through all the continuing sound problems. Maybe should have titled it Echo Beach. It really sounded like Ian was in the garden using a baked bean tin and a bit string to communicate at times. And as for poor old Mark he was totally ignored on several occasions, the conversation carrying on whilst he was still answering the previous question.
Always enjoy though and passes an hour whilst out with the dog.

Should have pulled the trigger 18 months or so ago when Poch was available. He would have been the perfect fit imo. They have now missed out on Conte, a serial winner and will end up with either Zidane who seems to not really want the job, unless he is paid a barrel full of money or Brenda Rogers who will probably crash and burn within 2 years, as well.
Tbf the only manager who will be able to manage all those egos would be Zidane imo.
Funny though, hope they do just enough to qualify for the Europa Conference league next season. That will be fun for their glory hunting London based fanbase. NOT

And in the Dolman. All very strange.

Gentle Giant - another of my obscure but quite liked bands - was playing Octopus only the other day
That was my first thought seeing the thread title, but couldn't work out any connection between that band and BCFC. Certainly not why they have resigned and left us.

If this COD keeps turning up he'll have a seat on the bus.
Or the cynics may suggest its because his contract is up next summer and he can sign a pre contract in January with a new suitor.
Still fair play to him that was a decent performance today.

A mixed bag. Did quite well but really doesn’t use his assets to the best of his ability.
And that decision to let the ball go out for a throw in was possibly one of the most cowardly acts I’ve ever seen on a field.
Better than his normal standard I agree, but that’s a pretty low bar.
I thought that was a strange one...but not as strange as the looks he got from the forwards that had made good runs into the box. They certainly weren't too happy.

“Who are these players” indeed.
I find it quite sad that, probably for the first time in my near 4 decades as a fan, I don’t think I actually like or respect ANY of our players.
Don’t know if it’s an age thing or if I’ve just been ground down by this group over the last couple of years, but I actually don’t like any of our players. None of them.
And worse still, I don’t think a single one of them is capable of being in a team which challenges for promotion from this division. What a horrendously low base to start from. Can't argue with your sentiments and have had the same thoughts for some time. Possibly a bit harsh on Scott and Massengo but it wouldn't worry me one jot if I never saw the rest of them again.

So if I read it right one CAN park in the LA P&R on a Saturday and NOT have to buy a bus ticket, or do they do something clever with ANPR recognition. The website, deliberately I'm sure, is as clear as mud.
Just park there and walk to the ground. No ANPR or other restrictions. Used by a few switched on Away fans too.

To answer your question. Yes you can park in Long Ashton park and ride, plenty of people (including me) do so. It is also open til 10.30 weekdays so good for evening games.

Sad, but when I was a young lad I wrote out all the teams names on pieces of paper put all 92 into a hat drew them out and rolled 2 dice to decide each tie and went from there all the way to an imaginary FA Cup Final.
Wonder what kids get up to behind their bedroom doors these days ?

Tin hat time (and I am no fan) but statistically LJ is amongst our top 5 managers of all time, possibly top 3, bearing in mind all his games were in the 2nd tier of English football. His win rate puts him comfortably in the top 6. His final league positions would put him in 3rd or 4th.

Rest up, take your time and get well soon. Your health is the most important thing so lets hope you're soon up and about ,covering a few miles on the 'Moor again in the very near future.

Seems a weak response to excuse your own accountability.
Thats by the by though. I was hoping this was more in protest at where we are as a club.
I quite like the idea.
People get in their high horse if you boo or show negativity at the ground, so let’s just not turn up?
If you read the post properly you would see that I was responding to the last line of Galley is our king's post not stating something that I believe in. Totally agree that everyone on the planet should make an effort (and I seem to be the only local dog walker that leaves the beach having collected several plastic / glass bottles to take home and recycle) but if the huge nations don't bother then what we do, as a small nation, is a total waste of time imo.

Don't Want this to become too political but we should probably stop doing lots of things but what is the point of us doing anything when China, Russia and India just carry on regardless?
Perhaps Greta should demonstrate in Beijing or Moscow, see how that goes.....

Of course not.
Bristol City are one of the four teams in the championship that have the furthest to travel this season.
I am a supporter of short distances for the planned FIVE away mid week games,
and long distance match's to be played on Saturdays, WHEN the fixtures are FIRST published.
PLEDGEBALL want Football followers to try and reduce their football carbon footprint.
Nearly 3,000 City fans went to coventry fans attended the game against Coventry on Saturday
I think approx ten coaches took fans to the game, correct me if I am wrong, and approx one hundred fans were on the first available Birmingham to Bristol train
That equates to approx 2,500 City went by car, and if each car took two persons that 1,250 cars were used to attend the game.
Maybe football train specials could be started again(FREE OF CHARGE) subject to all passengers buying their match day tickets in advance.
See all you hoardes at Sheffield and Hull etc.
This exactly, even a tenner would induce people to use public transport. The extortionate price of public transport is my big bugbear with successive Governments trying to force people out of cars. I travel a round trip of 4 hours to every home game and would prefer to travel by train (to Parson St of course) but it is double the price and adds at least an hour to my journey.

Completely agree. Who is the Wade Elliott, Marlon Pack, Korey Smith….always giving an option, getting on the ball, keeping it moving, getting it back….ultimately allowing the team to get into shape to create an attacking pattern. Matty James is probably our most likely….he’s on 31 passes p90. Korey was 43 p90 in 17/18. Not everything is about stats but I’d say Korey wasn’t even used in that role, more as a ball winning ferret.
Yes we were slow moving the ball.
Nagy and we got rid. Highly underrated here imo. Perfect player to sit in midfield and keep recycling the ball.

Can't argue with any of that but he was so guilty of giving the ball away carelessly (lumping it upfield) on more than a couple of occasions yesterday. Each time he had time to just play a simple pass and thus keep possession. And as for his slice when under no pressure as the ball dropped out of the sky which almost went to one of their attacking players.
Agree with doing the simple things and playing yourself back into the side but he really does need to take more care when in possession imo.
