  1. Linington referee.. He lets a lot go in a match and rarely awards penalties. Should be a very close game, but I think they'll out-muscle our back three (well, at least two of the 3) and get the 3 points.
  2. Back to the thread - 1-1 final score. City held on to stay top of the division.
  3. 1-1 down to 10 men. Acey equalised, Backwell two yellows. From the Millwall twitter feed as ours is ******* useless.
  4. I think it was handball. Seems to me that the ball was outside of the box when the keeper handled it. I can't blame the officials for not giving it as they would have to have been directly in line with it. as a few on here were. Keeper got the benefit of the doubt imo. Their second was clearly offside and the officials weren't up with play to spot it - and they missed another clear offside just before that which nearly led to a goal. Standard officiating these days.
  5. I would think a hell of a lot of clubs have the same. The standard is demonstrably poor.
  6. How many UK referees will be officiating at the world cup ? Edit: Just looked it up and the answer is 2. I genuinely thought it was zero. Edit2: For completeness, England has 2 referees out of 36, 2 assistant refs out of 69, and zero VAR officials (which says a lot imo). https://digitalhub.fifa.com/m/1da4b811328add8f/original/MEDIA-Alphabetical-order-List-of-Match-Officials-FWC-2022-Qatar.pdf
  7. I think the way that we play is very entertaining and exciting when the players are on song. When we have four or five players having mares, it's always going to be a car crash. Hopefully, a few lessons learnt and a few bollockings given will get it sorted for the Coventry game. For me, Naismith has to be told not to hang on to the ball for too long or take the extra touches which enables the opposition to close him and others down. If he can get that out of his system maybe the errors would be minimised.
  8. He was very good against a sub-par Cheltenham team who were extremely passive and I wouldn't say he had a great game against Portsmouth. I watched both games on RobinsTV not live which does present a different perspective tbh. But its fair to say that I'm not convinced by him, if he proves me wrong I'd be more than happy. Personally, I'd much prefer Tanner in that position even though he's not really a wing back (like Sykes).
  9. Having seen Wilson in pre-season and his cup/cameo appearances, he looks far too weak for this division. I can see why he's not been playing and his subs appearance today did him no favours imo. It was disappointing all round today with several players having shockers - Sykes was piss poor, Naismith was slow with the ball, hangs on to it too long with one touch to many, Weimann was anonymous and had no effect on the game, Conway got beaten up and was ineffective (at least he comes back for more and will learn a lot from the last couple of games), I think Vyner switched off on a few occasions but was very good at other times, Atkinson had a very quiet game, and Williams looked poor for most of the game - been disappointed with him so far this season. Scott, Dasilva and Wells played well and Bentley was ok apart from his usual dodgy distribution. People saying NPs subs were odd, the reality is that the team needed shaking up, we were never in control of that game at any time and it needed a huge shake up and a wake up to some players.
  10. So we made 160k on his transfer to Blackburn. Not 500k which we were owed anyway. But all good for cashflow.
  11. On road parking on Weston Road opposite Beggar Bush Lane. About half a mile - 10 minutes walk max.
  12. If they're good enough, they're old enough. Used to be that the apprentices played in the Western League at 15/16/17.
  13. Anderson 16 years old left back. Morrison 17 I think.
  14. England goalkeeper ? My arse. Distribution crap, slow on the ball, always a mistake in him.
  15. Dier, Sterling, Shaw, Maguire, all old guard and all now not good enough. Add Southgate to that list imo, lost his way big time. But Saka.... God help us.
  16. He's a much better player than that level. But if it kicks start his career, then all good.
  17. From the clubs perspective its trade off between probably less supporters in attendance and the cost of running the floodlights for an hour or so (interior lights would be on anyway). The majority of non-attending supporters would be in the away end I imagine with some loss of POTD home supporters (season ticket monies already in the bank). In which case, I would think it is more applicable to the lower leagues with smaller attendances and smaller away followings.
  18. Enjoyed watching that. Good to see the integration between the men and women keepers.

    Weimann

He knew straight away that he was off, didn't even have anyone come on to look at him - went straight off.

    Weimann

Thats what it looked like to me. Hope not.

Off injured France v Austria Looked bad, no impact just pulled up.
  22. Conway off, time to switch off. Disappointing for him, playing up front with virtually no passing from midfield. Good experience for him, but thats all he can take out of it.
