This isn't the biggest deal in the world but it is a little silly that Manning is saying in press conferences that no talks are taking place and then Tinnion is saying on Robins TV who we have and haven't offered a contract. I do feel there is a lack of a comms strategy at times...

That's why I've got no confidence in either.

Obviously purely speculation on my part but i have a feeling Manning will be backed fairly heavily this window, we have seen it before with LJ and i wouldn't at all be surprised if we did sign him for £5m or close to that the powers that be would still find plenty left in the infamous 'nest egg' to give Manning and Tinnion the other targets they want..

If that's the case we've haven't learnt our lesson.

Riffing on the Twine thing, I'm leaning towards signing him. I have this suspicion that we haven't seen him fully firing yet, and glimpses have led me to think I'd personally sanction it. I'm fully aware that I could be wrong there.

This might show ambition as I think this is what manning was on about but throwing are money into one basket is pretty risky he won't come cheap. And we've been here before.

You can't reason with these people mate.

They consider genuine concern about how the club is run as an 'agenda'

Apparently we all have to tow the line on a forum and must only post positive things.

These people are incapable of any sort of critical thinking.

Ultimately we have at the very most, stagnated this season. We all expected progression this season and I don't think there is any Bristol City fan that can genuinely say we have progressed this season.

Ultimately that falls upon those who run the club but also Manning must take responsibility for that too because we have not progressed under him.

6 games unbeaten is great, but it happened at a time where it is meaningless. No one wants to talk about the bad runs, when it actually mattered, because that doesn't suit their narrative.

If people rate Manning, fair play. You won't see me trolling them because of their support of Manning. Yet some people just can't help themselves because I don't rate him and I don't think he is the guy to take us forward. But apparently I'm not allowed to have those opinions.

6 games unbeaten with nothing to play for apart from finishing position. The pressures off just look when the pressure was on manning! That's what concerns me,The pressure comes back on next season from day one let's see how he handles it.

As for the owners well over 20 years of stupid football decisions nothings going to change. Repeat repeat repeat.

This thread isn’t good reading, pretty pissed off with Tinnion, so if true he has been instrumental in the sacking of Wilson and Pearson?

Wilson was loved by fans from memory although looking back now if he would have sorted the drinking culture out I think we would have been promoted.

Pearson completely turns the club around, makes the Lansdowns lots of money by progressing some youth players (although I guess he had no choice) and is again loved by majority of the fans base.

Sounds like Tinnion gets a bit jealous to me

"Sounds like tinnion gets a bit jealous to me"

I think you have that spot on he does come across like that at times.

At the point that Scott had been sold, and it became clear that we weren't going to splurge any of the profits, I'm pretty sure that the consensus was that we'd be upper mid table, but not on a charge for the playoffs.

I do agree when Nige says Liam inherited a good situation, in that we have a young squad, full of potential, all with a great attitude, very hardworking and obedient. Manning doesn't have to cull or overhaul. That's a good footing. But it doesn't therefore mean that the expectation should be playoffs. I don't believe Nige would have got us in the playoffs, but you and I may differ on that?

I think this confirms that Nige was sacked for the reasons that we all thought: relationship with owner and NP's health. He rightly appears pissed off about it.

Our owner needs to ship out unfortunately thinks he's Mr billionaire big bollocks.

"We need to take the emotion out of it"

    Now apparently we didn't listen.

Same as the players don't listen when we have lost.

    Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit.

I really want to have some belief in this guy, because I don't have any modicum of belief in anyone above him.

But all I see and hear is a blagger.

Nothing changes my mind on him I don't listen to his interviews the blokes a bore and full of brown stuff. Wait until the pressures on again then we will see,This club isn't no mk dons or Oxford.

People above are saying above that this is more than the same stage last year (makes sense as presumably there are more people who could renew this year ie less season ticket holders in 2022-23 v 2023-24)

Yeah that makes sense but I think they are still down from this season ticket holders as people haven't renewed.

That’s credible.  But, I’ve opted out of texts and still had one.  It could be a fairly costly marketing strategy for them

I only accepted text etc from the football club none of the other clubs. But it does seem alot more desperate(if that's the right word) this time around with no figures being released yet and a week to go for renewals.

I’ve had an email and a text message today

Can't help themselves the more they bombard you with texts emails etc the more you feel guilty for not renewing. That's what there hoping anyway.

I think we'd start a waiting list before we got to 20k.

20k, plus needing to allow for a maximum away allocation of about 3,000, leaves only about 3,000 for POTD.

I reckon at around 18.5k we'd start taking about waiting lists, loyalty points etc.

18.5k is a good number but we should be doing better than we have been but again that comes down to the owners and the entertainment on offer we have done well over the years to increase the total but the figure of 18.5k plus we really should striving for.
