Is there any reason why they don't put seats in the stand behind the goal and put a six man tent over the small standing area in the corner for away fans?

They can't put to many tents up or it will be classed as a holiday park.

The kind of quote we heard all season re his recruitment.  At various stages I responded by asking whether it’s best to wait until the end of the season. Well, we are almost here…one week to go.

Here’s my view.  Not meant to be right or wrong, so more rationale than “rating”

    Fees Paid:

Atkinson: started well, suffered mid season through illness / form but has come back strong.  More than happy with Rob.

Tanner: low expectations of minutes overall, and injuries have hampered progress, but looks a decent signing for the future.

    Free Transfers:

James: a bit like Atkinson, started decently, mid-season injury, come back well.  Probably more influential than we think.

King: just hadn’t played enough, although I thought he was decent when he played

    Klose: bloody excellent

    Re-signings:

Weimann: stellar, nothing else to add, other than done this on a smaller wage

Baker: was playing well until injury…such a shame.  Was a risk, didn’t pay off

Simpson: poor signing, only mitigated by him being on a low salary / coaches salary.

My view is that although the above shows a mix of results, I would go with a positive overall (others may disagree), and I’d certainly have no issues with Nige making the decisions on who to sign this summer with limited budget.

Going by vardy and Mahrez I have faith in nige he certainly knows a player and definitely can turn a lower league player into a quality one without spending a fortune. Mahrez signed from ligue 2 for 450 what steal that was at 22 years old.

I’ve contacted our SLO about the lack of products available in the club shop for a while now with absolutely no reply. With the financial position the club is in you’d think they would want to increase products available to generate extra income. We’re miles behind many clubs in merchandise. @Street redI live by Leeds and the club shop at the ground is well stocked and they have a club shop in the city centre (I appreciate they’re a bigger club and a bigger fan base than us) but their club shop is always busy. Our club shop is closed today and tomorrow and when I asked the reply was it’s a bank holiday weekend !!

Don't city still have a shop in the centre or cribbs? Not sure if you know Always thought they did.Clubs 39 million in debt but they close a revenue stream on a bank holiday is the through put of customers that bad.

Should take a leaf out of Arsenal's book in general for products. Appreciate they're one of the biggest clubs in the world and with Adidas but they have a great range of products and bring out retro stuff a couple times a season. Theres demand for similar with City and could do it in limited runs to maintain demand.

Same with Leeds utd and there retro wear that's smart and class at the same time.

I'm really not sure what their aim is with the shop. I've said on numerous occasions the organisation and choice is poor. You make a good point about things under £5, I went in looking for a few jokey things to leave around my QPR supporting Brother in Laws house , I struggled.
I said at Christmas about jumpers, they either don't bother or run out quickly. Not only that, with our Mascot being a Robin, they had a Deer on the front. Absolutely not effort or thought.
They need a manager, or even to have a chat with the supporters club maybe. It's an income stream they are neglecting.

Just looked on the Hull site. Something I have mentioned before to several people but they ignore Twitter unless it's praise. I have tried to get Baubles for ages, eBay is one way but expensive , £5 each. Seems Hull can do them and at £9 for 4.

I find the lack of choice and class about the products at city some of the tops polo shirts etc just seem over the top. All you want is a simple quality top with a club badge. Arsenal do a sweatshirt in black with a simple badge of a gun in white but it looks smart a nice casual top to wear out obviously in the summer a smart t- shirt but you get my point.Have the over the top stuff but mix that with more smart wear more choice. City do the car air fresheners badges which I purchased and they look good and promote the club well more of that and like you say with the baubles more of that.

Been like it for to long think we all agree if more was available we would buy it.

The forwards will rightly get the plaudits today, but my MoM was Klose. Masterful performance. We need to get him signed. Y

Yep klose is top pro and quality,Atkinson and cundy couldnt ask for a more decent player to play alongside,Klose a free and Kalas 8 million say no more!!

Martin has been a very decent forward for several seasons and I’ll always remember Flint when asked who his toughest opponent was he replied without hesitation “Chris Martin”.

At the time Martin was at Derby……I was delighted when he joined City and even more delighted when he bagged 10:for the season so far. He may get a couple more yet……who knows?………:dunno:

    Who knocks him?……….:dunno:

A few of our fans have since his time with us.

I know he isn't everyone's cup of tea but I don't think we should underestimate what a clever player he is and I think he is very important to the way we play. Weimann and Semenyo get the headlines but I question whether they would be as effective without Martin winning those flick ons and making runs to create space.

For me he is a forward that we have lacked since maybe Jon Stead (I see them as similar ish others may disagree).

I enjoy watching Martin play and in my view we are a far better side with him in it than on the bench. I know he is getting older now so maybe not starting 46 games next season, but for me he has proven to be a good signing and an important player for us.

True professional not sure why people knock him to be honest.

It appears that there’s a major glitch in the season ticket renewal software, which dates back to the block transfer of groups of season tickets for those who wished to sit together when the ground was rebuilt some years ago. Something has occurred in the system allowing a season ticket holder to inadvertently release the other seats in the block group onto general sale, meaning that season tickets have already been sold to someone else before the season ticket holder has had a chance to renew.
How the block arrangement is still live on ticketing system some 5 or so years after the move of blocks of fans from the Atyeo to the South Stand is not clear, but there’s going to be a lot of unhappy fans finding out their season tickets have been sold before the renewal deadline.

Think Richard Gould is going to be a busy chap sorting this mess out.

Seems we have amateurs on this side of things as well shock ******* horror! The club needs to sort itself out this summer bloody laughable.

This is a perfect example of what can happens when a club gets taken over by new owners - in Burnley’s case a bunch of Americans. They’ve saddled Burnley with debts and the risk of losing PL income is frightening them.

If SL ever sold up the same could happen to us.

Could be a slippery slide for them now.

I haven't been particularly impressed by Matty James but i do wonder if he's another victim of the lack of identity we have as a team.

We don't play with any width and we tend to be under a lot of pressure in most games we play, so it can't be easy for our midfield to dominate a game.

Just like Joe Williams, he was highly rated by his previous club, so he may well be a better player than he's been able to show with us.

Exactly this! Don't become a bad player over night we seriously lack consistency in individual performances.

  12. Personally think it's down to injury and quality around him like a couple of our players injuries interrupt form it's the same with Scott same with Dasilva etc etc James doesn't become a crap player over night he certainly has it but I don't think we will see it this season now unfortunately.

With respect the loss of £38.4m does make it pretty difficult to spend unless we can guarantee promotion to avoid falling foul of FFP, which we can’t.

Pearson is just telling us the unvarnished truth, he isn’t pointing any fingers but it is obvious that the previous regime plus current owner & chairman is badly culpable here.

We pack the gate out each home game they have no excuse and yes I agree about the previous regime and current owner etc but turnover is the biggest thing and if we can get crowds of at least 25k(regularly) its a move forward. I just feel those not wanting to renew might miss out just have a good feeling about next season.. Pearson is honest and for me the best appointment since cotts and he will be honest in the transfer market.

That'll get them Queuing round the block for Season tickets.......Great PR  from "Chuckle  Brother " Pearson? ..... That's a coincidence, because I   won't be spending any money either.

I can understand times are hard but this isn't the answer, If us fans don't spend money then dont expect the club to spend either. If we can afford a season ticket then get one we need bigger attendances at the gate we need to generate money for Pearson to spend we can't keep expecting lansdown to find the money. The more money coming into the club the better and we need to play are part.

Funnily enough he saved Forest from relegation then had all his players sold from underneath him as well as a lot being let go and then when he wanted to build the attack for Forest he may resistance and they ended up in a right mess. He fixed a hell of a lot that was wrong there but the fans overlooked that because they are the mighty Forest and deserve to compete. The reason I say funnily enough is because Pearson now finds himself in a similar situation with many of our fans taking similar stance.

Hughton did a lot for Forest but ultimately the club gave him nothing back and then was surprised when the results didn't come in. Since then Cooper has signed 3 attacking players and essentially built on what Hughton was trying to fix.

I think this happens far too often in football, managers coming in, starting a major overhaul job and then having a bad run before they can finish the multiple season turn around work they've begun only to have someone come in and continue that work and get all of the credit.

I hope forest fall flat on there arse hat the club Hughtons done the hard work and cooper comes out of it smelling of roses

  16. I honestly don't think people realise how much work nige has had to do apart from his main job,It seems the club behind the scenes is a mess and nige seems to be settling that but it won't be until the summer when things can be done. Like Johnson he needs time even more so without the finance but it's important Pearson gets the chance to get the club on a more professional footing and don't forget the club's still operating under COVID protacals.
