So you don’t mind us going potentially bust and having to start a phoenix club playing in the Westin counties league or something?

As long as we give it a shot?

Not really no, I’d support city regardless of what division they are in.

You come across like a glory hunter

its better to be someone for a day, than a nobody for a lifetime.

Take Gretna for example, probably had the time of their lives and still have a club to support now.

We have had bar a few years at the start and the odd game, 99% of pure mediocrity.

    FFP…

By the way, although football is strange, I doubt very much we are planning to sack someone who is currently being allowed to remove the previous coaching set up.

Oooo ffp as everyone else is super scared of that arnt they.

  3. No-one among the new ownership group was in any way offended by the attire of the fans who chose to celebrate in this way. It was a gesture that was acknowledged as positive and welcoming in its intent.

    ———

no one was actually offended then....

I suppose they don’t need a really good record, on the rise is enough. If it was just a good record appointment then yes NP was as good as it gets for us.

The problem is, with on the rise people then complain we never get an established manager, as historically we never have done.

Nigel is the “biggest” manager we have had.

Knowing his recent record, why do you still think he’s the best person for the job? Surely it’s best to catch someone on the rise not their fall? People are a bit touchy on here at the moment, so my questions come in peace as I’m just curious

We’re Bristol city, who will we get with a good record that is on the rise?

I’m no marketing expert, but what is the view of:

    - is it better to have 20k SC holders at £250 vs

    - 12.5k at £400

(I know not all SC are sold at the same price, and some are free)

Would be really good to see a breakdown of SC holders in each pay band in each part of the ground.

I highly doubt we would sell 20k at £250 a pop though, that’s the problem.

True, but it definitely moved, and clouds of dust were thrown into the air.

Without doubt! If there wasn’t movement in the stand it would of I imagined fallen down.

Dont think we will have anything like that again at the gate, even the atmosphere and demographic has completely changed since then.

  8. 144 league appearances

    7 goals

    10 assists

How anyone could think the above is good is crazy,

Even more the fact he was basically refusing to sign a contract, thinking someone better would come and didn’t proved a point.  No one wanted him on a free, yet we are still going for him?

I personally think he’s dreadful at this level and those stats prove it.

He’s an international player all by luck, being English but having Irish grandparents. He would never in a million years get in the England team, so he’s lucky he’s been given the chance for a country he’s not actually from.

  9. Hi Jerry,

I can’t find an option to reply, but I think you have missed the point with my questions.

For anyone with an annual pass who are overseas, you purchase a yearly pass, you are not purchasing a League game only pass.

Why were the 3 games not included in the annual pass?

I’m guessing for money obviously, but the club cannot change the goal posts when it suits them.

An annual pass is an annual pass, nowhere was it stated it didn’t include all games.

  10. Hey guys, come on now

Can people stop using facts like the small pox vaccination that was made to be put in everyone.

It’s just simply not fair on @Riaz is it.

You shouldn’t be allowed to bring facts to an argument.

@Riaz I take it your kids haven’t been vaccinated against anything then when they were babies? If they were, what due diligence did you do prior to letting them have the vaccines?

  11. Following up from the post that hasn’t been replied to yet,

Why are fans that have an annual pass for robins tv not been allowed to watch the pre season friendlies? Nowhere where signing up was it stated these would not be shown with the membership, it isn’t the Same as a season ticket, you have paid purely for robins TV for a year.

To make matters worse, a steam of robinsTV is always available on easily accessible IPTV platforms (yes it’s “illegal”).

Why after what has happened over the last year, the club still feels it’s ok to take the Mickey out of supporters who have already paid money for passes.

Yet again, it’s not fans, it’s customers.

So, there’s more positive tests today at Man City and Rochdale, hot on the heels of Portsmouth, Ipswich, Sunderland, Rovers and more, all in the last 10 days.

Over the last 2 months, how many footballers have tested positive? There’s been quite a few.
I wonder what sort of ratio there is in football. The percentage of players versus the percentage of players positive must surely be higher than in any other workplace.

I’m actually amazed the games are still being played. Surely it’s only a matter of time.

You know and I know it’s due to the £££, any other work place and it would be closed down by now for not being covid secure.

I can’t legally go to the pub in a tier 2 area with a mate, but if we were both professional footballers I could man mark him for an hour and a half without a problem.

I don’t know of any other job where you could stand that close to someone for that long without a daft plastic screen, or a mask etc.

  13. @phantom if you genuinely believe this new strain of covid that spreads 70% easier is only a tier 4 problem and it won’t spread, where on earth have you been since March?

Its like people on the original covid thread who said covid was nothing to worry about and we would be back to normality in month or so.

Anyone who think it is a good idea to go near a football ground with 2000 people in, or a busy pub etc and think it’s safe needs their head looking at and is one of the reasons we are at this state in this country.

People have to stop mixing, it’s as simple as that. Look at New Zealand for example, how they are basically back to normality then look at the mess in this country.

There is no way I will be going anywhere near the gate for a long time.

Interesting article in the post about sites considered for Bristol's arena. One site assessed and deemed unsuitable for reasons below, was the fruit market. It states it was not big enough for their planned arena (17,000). Also multiple lease holders.

So it begs the questions, how big a stadium could be built and, are those multiple leaseholders the reason nothing appears to be happening regarding the purchase of the site by a consortium with, no direct connection to BRFC.

    From the Post article:

Despite being further out from the city centre it was considered that the site “occupies a more accessible location to Bristol city centre”

However availability of the site was considered an issue because of multiple leases covering individual units on the site.

The site was also deemed too small for the arena complex that YTL has planned in Filton.

But @Spoons said it’s all tied up and rovers are moving in next week

It would have to be policed properly , with stewards rejecting anyone from the ground not keeping to protocol and not turning a blind eye.
I agree there’s a element of idiots who think the rules don’t apply to them. However , when the prime minister is openly encouraging people to go to cinemas , then  football clubs have every right to be pissed off not allowing fans in.

TBF I made points that I could see were a defence for the current stance, based on the message that we are tightening up not opening up and could understand why grounds wouldnt open now

Given that they are making plans to allow the Royal Albert Hall to hold concerts, and now telling us to get back to cinemas, I no longer defend the "tightening" stance and cannot understand the mixed messages.

If we're looking at safely opening concert halls, and encouraging people to go the cinema, I cannot see why football stadiums cant be re-considered.

Are you honestly classing going to the cinema/theatre the same as a football match? There’s massive differences just in the demographics and behaviour on a whole.

I suggest if you review many of the comments made in the Holden/3Lions thread you'll note very sound reasons why fans won't be returning to grounds soon.

Matters not what measures the club puts in place if the F'wits decide to ignore them, which given wholesale non-compliance with regulation pre Covid and Trumpesque pronouncements of late of what F'wits will and won't do, is guaranteed.

"We do what we want, we do what we want...." Yep, so you do.
