Utter waste of time. Twenty odd years of his stewardship and what have we got? SL grinning like the village idiot as his" legacy" is being polished by pop concerts. festivals etc., to leave him even wealthier when he finally sells up.

Oh, football, is that the game with the round ball or the oval ball, just asking? Not that interested to be honest, produces nothing for my future wealth increase

I just thank God every night, that I had a spare bedroom. I was at least bright enough to see the possibilities and grabbed onto Peter Hargreaves shirt tail. Who says an accountant (qualified?) is the dullest bloke on the planet and will empty the pub in under five minutes? Peter stays in Somerset and pays his full UK taxes, Sap. It's lovely in Guernsey. Am thinking of having Davefevs and some of his sycophantic disciples over for a day or two

@Davefevswelcome to the top 10 tenuous links of all time list ?

I'd hoped for something more exciting than a so-so third kit. Given that City now seem to like some sort of theme their shirts what does grey and orange represent? Having a tango on a foggy day.

The orange is a nod to Luton, thanking them for Naismith

IMHO Palmer's greatest weakness was his wages. His salary put him (understandably) under scrutiny whenever he touched the ball - or conversely whenever he didn't get selected. However, I don't blame him for that - I bet there aren't many of us on this forum who would turn down his salary.

Not the worst actual PLAYER on the pitch we've had at the Gate either - not by a long stretch, but one of the highest paid, so therefore that makes him one of the worst by way of value for money - again, his salary making him feel to many of us fans that he was worse than he actually was.

I wish him well - he has some good skills and tricks - it will be interesting to see if Coventry manage to 'unlock' him (as long as it's not against us of course).

Lots of Bristol housewives will be disappointed he's gone!!!!

    Well put.

It was always a nothing story.

Nobody ever claimed we’d tapped up Kal or anything like that.  All Luton claimed was we didn’t tell them we were going to announce it, so they could announce at their end at the same time (as is the common courtesy in this things).  We have professionally stayed away from responding.  FWIW, I reckon we did tell them, but they’d pissed off early on a hot, sunny, Friday afternoon, and got caught out.

Diverted their own fans anger and attention towards us, instead of them asking why their POTY has just walked out in a free to a rival.

I don’t understand all the animosity towards Lee.  I was watching the highlights of the Man Utd match the other day (as you do) and I can’t find it in me to criticise someone who gave us that.  Ok, things didn’t work out, but it’s quite clear that he has Bristol City at heart.  Good luck to the bloke.

When he comes out and try’s to piggy back on someone else’s success, 2 years down the line claiming he had a part to play. I personally don’t hate the guy, he just talks a lot of nonsense.

Well yeah, I watched all the games but at no point did I have a great feeling of enjoyment watching them, it was more of an excuse to go to the pub and see some friends. I found myself not really caring if they win or lose, when they lost the final I wasn't disappointed, just walked out of the pub and went home no anger, frustration, disappointment more a feeling like the end season of GoT that wasn't as good as the rest of the seasons - it's just a TV program and not a particularly good one (England not GoT). Compare that to my feelings for City and its night and day - city competes with my kids for love and enjoyment, there probably isn't a day in the last 30 years I haven't thought about city in some way.

I went to Wembley a few years ago to watch a game and no one seemed to openly enjoy it, there must have been 20 people in the whole stadium that were singing - most people treated it like a trip to the cinema, turned up bought there half and half scarf popcorn and a drink, watched the game in complete silence and then walked out, most didn't even cheer or even stand up when England scored. There was no passion or vibrancy to it, I thought going to a game would get me more into it but if anything in cemented my feelings.

I felt similar to you. The gloss wore off watching England a while ago, for myself.
All the games were on at home as my son watched them and had his friends around but I don’t think I sat through a full 90 mins all tournament.

Thankfully they are quite good at it. That’s why they will loan out Max and not just release him.

Or we are loaning him out and having part/all of his wages covered until the end of the season and then going to release him, without having to pay up his final year?

Needs to hurry up now and get back for his season long holiday to sign for Coventry. I’m eager for the club to progress with other incomings and no doubt his wages still on the books are a hold up in some regards

He doesn’t need to do anything, he’s not AWOL. It’s cheap and easy to paint him as the villain.
