Almost 2 weeks on from his shin injury and he's been recommended to see a specialist, though unclear when this will happen.

With a continuing 'anxious wait' before the severity of the injury is known

    All seems a bit slow,

May have been waiting to see if the injury settled. I had a long running shin issue which, as a last resort, eventually required minor surgery. Same leg I had a complete ACL reconstruction. It now looks like a grandmother’s patch work blanket.

On his day, Semenyo’s unplayable at this level and worth every penny of the £20m asking price being banded around this summer IMO.

I thought, however, there were signs teams were beginning to figure him out towards the end of the season and for that reason I think it’s a massive season for Semenyo next year. He’s no longer an unknown quantity and will have to raise his game to maintain the standards he’s already set.

You only have to watch 5-10mins to figure out what he’s all about. Power and pace. Stopping it is a different problem.

He's such an important player but the reality is that if there is no contract extension his value declines with just one year left on his contract at the end of this season.  He's got a great attitude but like all players, he's ambitious to play in the Premier League aside from the financial considerations.  I think it's almost inevitable he will go for between £15m and £20m with add-ons.

He'll be a significant loss but I am very impressed with how Nigel and co have operated this transfer window.  That was my one fear that the manager had a taste for players a bit past their sell-by date. But that was clearly just an interim approach and he is now going for both experience with mileage left on the clock and high potential flair players in tandem with bringing on academy players.  Very relieved and impressed by that.   Antoine will be hard to replace, but there's no doubt the recruitment team have upped their game and there are always exciting up-and-coming players out there in the lower leagues that they will have their eye on.

It’s hardly a shock that we’re receiving a bid, with probably more to come. Let’s hope recruitment have been succession planning for this eventuality.

When he signed from Oxford, he seemed to be an out and out left winger, bombing forward, beating full backs.

Johnson then  tried to be clever, sticking him out on the right wing.  Then whenever he had to cut inside on his left, more often than not lost it or got crowded out.  I am not saying he didn't have his faults, but Callum strikes me as confidence player and if he was put in his proper position early on I think he could have flourished.

Good luck Callum, you don't deserve some of the nonsense written on this thread.

I remember LJ saying he was teaching O’Dowda how to do the Waddle shuffle and drop the shoulder. No sure which made me laugh more, the thought of LJ demo-ing a step over or the fact O’Dowda, as a professional footballer, playing out wide, needed the lesson.

This. The most logical option all round. Say he's on 20K now, say you go right how about we guarantee you football this year, we pay you £15,000 a week, you're helping our wage bill, but in return we'll give you a 2 year extension on 10K a week for the following two seasons, with appearance, goal and win bonuses, so if we win and score, you'll get 15K that week.

Why would we guarantee him football?

Every club now knows what league they will be in next season. Surely if there were other clubs willing to make an offer this would have happened now otherwise they run the risk of missing out.

Of course this may well be the case but surely it would have made its way to the media if so?

It could be that he’s not first choice for some clubs and he has to wait to see how things progress over the window, who knows? I think we can safely say we won’t be the only club who has put an offer in front of him.

Scandalous wage considering their role and the pay of their fellow colleagues. I used to work with students who'd intern at prem and efl clubs (including City) who were paid nothing for a whole season of interning. Lead performance analysts would get about 25k average at championship level, less at lg1 and 2 level. I knew one guy who'd been a performance analyst at Peterborough + left the game and retrained as a heating engineer because he couldn't support hsi family on the wage he was being offered.

Maybe teams would be more generous with their levels of pay if it didn’t go towards FFP?
