Dean Gerken returning to the club as a youth goalkeeping coach according to Gregor.

What a great bloke Gerken is. I remember being in my early teens, me and my mates were going to buy some away tickets from the ground.

Gerken walked past us, and asked us how we were and what we were up to. Once we said that we were getting away tickets, he asked how many we needed. He gave us all (6 of us) tickets for free.

That’s because players don’t need/want their away comps ? home tickets a different matter, like rabid animals fighting over them!

Best crosser of a ball I have ever seen apart from Becks ( yes i really do think his crossing was that good). Lacked in other areas unfortunately

    Critical areas too.

The comments have been around. He should not have played as much as he did last season. WSM was a thing because NP was was trying to set an example with Wells and wages. Clear to see Wells offers so much more than Martin and we likely missed out on points last season because NP why trying to send some sort of message.

During the last two wins we have used 1 new player. Naismith is great and makes a difference but we could have seen this style of football so much earlier. Keep in mind we have been down two of our best players from last season as well.

Absolutely nothing in your first paragraph is true though, is it? NP sent a message all of last season just to go against it after 3 games this season?

    Now who's gone missing?

    Haha! Name them !

I couldn’t off the top of my head. Most aren’t regular contributors and that’s part of my annoyance. No problem with those who are critical of the team or NP because most can also appreciate when we play well and are happy to say so. Only coming out when we lose and in some cases, probably creating accounts purely to moan is just odd, to me.

It's human nature to be more bothered or pre-occupied by negative events than by positive events, it is quite commonly thought. That's why "news" is full of bad things and news outlets pump out bad stuff, 24/7. It gets more attention than "things are going well."

Some people just feel the need to offload when we are shite, get it off their chests (and get a/see the reaction), and not so much when we beat Luton 2:0. People feel disappointed when we lose and need to do some-thing about it: the forum offers a public arena for dealing with this need.

Best way to reduce the moaning is total tumbleweed, no response at all to anything negative. Reason and logic and facts in response to when people are feeling emotionally disturbed in the immediate aftermath of defeat (and late surrender of one point or three) is worse than useless, it's counter-productive.

    Very true. Thanks.

Exactly this.....what value is this thread adding?

I never promised value in the title or my OP. Merely calling out “supporters” who are strangely absent during the good results but are prominent during the bad. Not that difficult a concept to grasp really.

Ok, the club has received an apology letter regarding the Hull City game, stating it was not a penalty to them,we should have had 2penalties, ok, then replay the game ,strip Hull City of the 3pts, different referee, or still strip them of all 3pts , and give 1pt to each team, but they won't, incompetent referee again, bring VAR to the Championship,

It wasn’t any fault of Hull though. They shouldn’t be punished for the inadequacies of the referee, the referee should be.
I’d like to see a league table for professional referees and have their performances in black and white stats for all to see. They are paid extremely well so should absolutely be under pressure to perform and get decisions correct.

Who are the "they" you're referring to?

Seeing @GrahamC on the thread it must include us (FBC) but if you see my tweets and listen to the Luton review on our latest episode we are giving an outpouring of praise!

Would be good if some of these critics came on the pod but they won't!

Wasn’t aimed at you or the pod in particular, more a general statement about those who are missing all pre season but turn up at the first bad result. The same ones who then disappear and strangely never seem to celebrate or have anything positive to say, when we win.

For those who say they just want to be entertained, what about some of those runs from Atkinson and Dasilva in the 2nd half?

Jay was absolutely flying and Atkinson, well one day he is going to get it absolutely right and score the goal of the season for a centre half.

Atkinson’s runs are great aren’t they? Pulls them all out of shape! Just waiting for the Kompany-esque banger now!

Interesting you say that, my thoughts to all the criticism of him not signing is, how do we know he has  been offered a good deal worth signing.

Depends if what he is currently on is high relative to todays climate. If he’s on £10k per week, is he worth £15k?

I was actually happy for him when he passed as he had escaped his agonies.

Sorry to hear that, it’s a heartbreaking thing to witness.

Set to sign for blackburn for 2.5mill. We likely due a reasonable sell on fee here? 10-20% of 1.7mill? Every little helps

I wonder if the sell on filters down to Colchester still?
