  1. I’ve commented on another thread about the repeated claims that Little Lee ‘Loved this Club’ (With zero evidence)

Have tbf to BT on one thing -

I genuinely believe he absolutely does

Spot on. And at the very least, his considerable experience far surpasses anything anyone else currently at the club - on the pitch, on the bench, or in the boardroom - has ever achieved.

When was the last time - if ever - we had that experience to call upon? Joe Jordan?

And I’m not saying King would have the same impact as JJ in case anyone was ready to shoot that down. It’s a point about tangible football experience, which has severely lacking throughout the Lansdown era.

Joe Jordan who didn’t have a coaching badge ..... or a day of coaching or managerial experience

Yes he didn’t do too bad 🤣

3 World Cups , a bit of British Silverware - pfffff over rated

basically a lot of people believe in Andy King as he is a city fan. That’s what it boils down too as if it was anyone else with the same CV nobody would be calling for him

Or maybe it’s what players have said about him , his help and guidance , or maybe the experience of being a player who has won L1 ,Championship and the Premier League and what that entails and is required , International Football

    His coaching qualifications

Maybe a few of these things too eh

Ironically We had 4 **^^^* years of wonder boy and since ‘But he gert loves the club’.  (With zero evidence)  Ffs

He’s done that 8 times in the league so far as well as sidelining Ephraim Yeboah pretty much from the get go.

I’m not convinced he’s a big fan of Academy players, let’s see how many that weren’t already part of the squad ever get an opportunity under him.

Already a worry if he genuinely thinks Mebude is a better bet than giving either Yeboah or Nelson a spot on the bench.

Just about all the acclaimed football philosophies and blueprint look on hold atm don’t they

Leaving aside any LM overall assessment to date to one side,  he doesn’t look an obvious fit for the Technical Director which is in itself bizzare , unless the DoF has scrapped and rewritten the blueprint in the last couple of months

There’s almost no point bothering anymore. Just full of stupid ideas, trolls and people posting their same opinion 100 times a day.

You’d wager it based on absolutely nothing.  A fool and his money….

    A fool 🧐 🤣

I won’t start in some of your football opinions

But shall we talk about that all ‘a big fuss over nothing ‘  .............. COVID

    Fools eh 🤣

Playing experience isn’t relevant. O’Neill had more coaching experience when he was appointed at Bournemouth.

Can’t believe it’s come to this thread!

Really - his shortish spell at Liverpool Academy ?

    Or have I missed a spell ?

I’d suggest GON and AK would have very similar CVS and fair play to GON he’s grabbed his chance and puts a dent in your theory

Does it mean AK would / will have similar ‘ success’ , no of course not but I’d have a little wager that he will end up doing someone a decent job

Personally Id take a chance on AK before a LJ type appointment with his ‘experience CV’ for example

  7. 26 minutes ago, And Its Smith said:

No thanks. I don’t think pointing someone with zero experience is the way to go

Gary O’Neil with less of a playing CV , a similar character I’d suggest , both quietish  intelligent ,

He had zero experience ... and fwiw didn’t have Kings coaching qualifications when he set out

  8. Gut feeling is we could actually latch onto something good - he appears potentially to have a lot of the necessary skill set to do well as a HC / manager

But it won’t happen in a hundred years as Manning won’t be sacked and if he was we’d actually be more likely to reappoint LJ

I’d like to think the outcome of the next 12 games will decide that. To my mind poor results and more importantly poor performances would suggest he’s done nothing to earn a summer, especially as he now has empty weeks and an international break to convey whatever he wants to do.

I’m not buying the players not being good enough or capable of change, these are experienced professional players mostly of championship quality, who are used to being coached and playing different styles - we know he’s not up to it tactically as recent games have demonstrated, but perhaps he’s not that good a coach at this level either…

Not sure of the need to highlight Pearson here though, my argument is the apparent inability of the incumbent and the lack of experience at this level.

Good debate though. Let’s hope you are right and I’m not.

Not disagreeing anything you’ve said Bex

But IMO  evaluation process should be ongoing and not just about the outcome of the next 12 games

If BT particularly , is professional and competent in his position,  he is literally around LM , staff and players all day every day and should be quietly watching , listening , his coaching , the effect in and response of players , his man management , and a whole host of things we don’t see

If he’s professional and competent he should be ruthlessly LM (Or whoever in that post) to professionally confirm their opinion , that they have the right man , or be honest internally and start to accept that there are some issues.

With a DoF , Technical Director and Head Coachset up that is absolutely the No 1 priority for any DoF / TD , at any club.

The appointment and change is one thing but what would actually be totally unforgivable that this evaluation is not done professionally and  ‘impartially’

By now with results and performances part of the picture , Tinnion , by now should be in a position and had time , including dealing with a transfer window together , to give a pretty accurate debrief regarding just about every aspect of LM to the Lansdowns and in essence whether he believes LM is still the right man.

Isnt that the simple reality ?

Whether Tinnion is the right man to be doing that is of course a debate, and whether he is open to admitting an error (If that was to be the case)  but it’s time to step and be seriously judged Brian....

LM may get the engine rolling and build something good , in which case BT will , and rightly take the credit due

But, if LM does transpire to be not what they hoped or expected and they compound what’s gone before and do nothing about it , or shut their eyes , then the events of the last 6-12 months will pale into significance IMO

Courageous, give me a break. the love in is embarrassing, especially without any knowledge truly of what happened or what “truths” nige was spitting. Nigel Pearson did nothing to unite or galvanise city while he was here. Steady manager producing steady results - we were not going anywhere further so you have to roll the dice and sorry to break this to anyone but football has no certainty.
There was no excitement in the stands, no chorus’ of Nigel’s name game after game. Revisionary bullshit history to say he’s a some messiah. For 12 months we couldn’t score goals without forceps and our home form was diabolical.

the big talk from management during the change is of course the problem because the majority of people on here are petulant and pedantic and desperate to sell us into the unknown for a shot at god knows what? W*nking themselves off when MOTD is on because Danny Murphy said something nice about us? what did you expect them to say? “We’ve got an average squad with nothing going for it etc etc” not going to happen, you make a change you big it up and believe it might work. It might still work. Nigel might have got us doing more - I don’t know but he had enough time to prove it if he could.

“Say it as they see it” types is boomer Facebook rhetoric for someone who likely won’t listen to anyone else and mistakes their personal “honesty” for the unequivocal truth and believes people should be grateful for it

    🤣🤣🤣

    So in summary

You prefer bulls***s , than those who are straight

    Not a great shock

As for ‘Nigel Pearson did nothing to unite or galvanise city while he was here’

Ive posted about the blind who didn’t look , didn’t watch , ungrateful , and had no concept of what was actually going on , and actually deserve L1 — Congratulations on your Membership

Certainly isn't a criticism of him. It's what a small number of our fans consider to be a 'good' manager

No sorry , I wasn’t suggesting you were criticising him , but making the point about what the fans consider

Hes been criticised about fist pumps and that’s what I was referring too

  12. 2 minutes ago, 2015 said:

It's pretty sad that a small section of our fanbase like Manager's based on fist pumping towards them.

If that's your style then fine but I dont think it is Manning's style to do that, it's just appeasing some of our low IQ supporters on X.

Totally agree , it’s clearly not ‘him’ and he clearly does so or started to do so because the fans wanted him to do it

Always looks a bit awkward and to some degree he’s damned if he does , damned if he doesn’t

Not something to over scrutinise or criticise him for IMO

My advice to him would be , be himself , and if that means a quick thumb up and disappearing down the tunnel then so be it

Bottom line is If he gets results on the pitch he can do whatever he wants post match and will be popular

I'm probably going to get battered for this...but I think on the whole Max has looked a lot more confident since Manning.

Yes he has some errors in him, he's a keeper and mistakes really show, but his shot stopping and confidence has much improved, the reaction stuff.  It seems when he has time to think he isn't at his best.

Pat Mountain ? (Credit that we are doing ok notching from set pieces too)
And confidence by the moving on of Dan Bentley and being the clear No 1 , I would think too M

Part of the problem for me is that the club do not appear to have put key parts of the structure in place:

    - football strategy

    - football management

We’ve got people in the structure trying to cover role titles, but not job description / responsibilities.

When BT made repeated noises about a playing philosophy and they type of profile players we were going to be recruiting from now on , I actually thought it was one of the best and most promising sound bites to come out from the Club in years (I know you’ve posted and explained before that this philosophy was drawn up by RG & NP)

Its what any Club should do and what we needed to do for decades - great

Then we appoint Liam and it is abundantly clear that he is nothing about ‘front football’ and his philosophies and ideal player profile , don’t well fit with the one we had finally established and were following and recruiting too

    Mind Boggling

Agree, also how many years has he been claiming to be “looking for investment”? Are we really that unattractive that no one will invest? Is he talking out of his arse and not actually seeking investment? Or does the stupid Bristol Sport folly make investment impossible?

Firstly would you be keen to invest and work with the Lansdowns , but have no voice
