It was a fantastic strike to win any match and if only you could hold more than just  4000 without additional tent pegs, more Gasheads would have seen it.

I reckon you need a new venue, ideally  one with all satellite TV channels available, no horses, and room for the floating 20,000 Indonesians on Facebook.

BTW Wael has been asking for credit for weeks. All the banks have refused so far.

Curiously he comes from a family who own their own bank.

  2. They think it can't be made pay on the day because that will allow Cardiff fans to buy tickets joining them in the away end once the Cardiff stands are sold out.

    1) It's the League Cup First Round

2)They're Bristol Rovers, not Man Utd

    3) There won't be any space for Cardiff in the away end once all the "Faithful and True" supporters are in there.

add to that the 50 over stuff ends today until the end of July

Kent 100% the best limited overs team - that's twice they've spanked us now this season

Oh well on to Glammy in the T20 tonight - shame the forecast is not great - oh well an evening the Ale House it is then. Just hope the coach load of coked up morons from the valleys don't turn up again this season

We are far too inconsistent to be the best. We aren't even qualifying for the next stage of either limited overs competition last time I looked.

Somerset pay some of the best wages in the land are probably better supported than most. It's not that i expect silverware, it's that I expect us to be in contention and not fighting relegation each year.

But you don't have the "glamour" of playing in a big city at a Test match venue. The Surrey's, Middlesex's, Lancashire's etc will always have that going for them as well as paying good wages. It will also be in a player's mind that if they have international ambitions they are better off playing for one of those counties as they are the ones the selectors pay most attention to. How many times do Kent, Glos, Somerset cricketers put in top performances all season (Kent notsomuch with the "good performances all season" but Darren Stevens should have had a one day career) and when an injury occurs the call goes out to the latest Test venue county player to score a big score?

  5. Tom is always gonna be tough in the first division for any of the non Test venue counties. A good season is simply staying up. I see the changes to a 8/10 split to be favouring the haves even more. Question needs to be asked, would the ECB be happier if all the have-not counties like Kent and Somerset just gave up and they could crack on with a City based franchise around the Test venues? I'm sure if they were being honest they'd say yes.

Bloody Kent always seem to beat us.

Well we haven't beaten anyone else, so thanks for that ;)

Things look to be a bit better this season (for Kent) after a few years in the doldrums. Tried well & Haggett have skittles Derbyshire out for 94 this morning to give us a chance of getting our 2nd victory of the season and it's still only May!

  7. God the moderation is a bit harsh on their site. Saw a Red got banned for this considered post :/

I'm defiantly not gutted. Obviously you are all getting a bit excited about, which is fair enough, the same happened when Lansdown happened.
If anything, this may make City push further on, for obvious reasons.

There is however a danger to the deal you've just done, just hope it ends positively for you lot.
