  1. As above, getting kicked left right and centre!
  2. That’s largely intentional I think, it’s something Brighton do quite well (and Colwill has been with them this season). Intended to draw pressure and try to beat the press. Spain haven’t fallen for it and have set their own traps when we’ve had the ball.
  3. This isn’t a good advert for the tournament or this side. Looks like Spain have deliberately set about disrupting England and trying to kick us off the park
  4. That’s awesome did you go for the tournament or just happen to be out there?
  5. Absolutely, he’s not without fault. I was at the Hungary 4-0 in the Nations League and there’s been a handful of poor results but I think he’s well in credit. His biggest achievement is the “club” mentality he seems to have nurtured in the camp and got a lot more people taking interest in England again. This generation may fall short of the final prize, but if the roots are planted and we continue with the philosophy then I’m hopeful we’ll get there. We’ve got younger age groups winning tournaments now.
  6. That's the words of someone who sounds like they don't actually watch the first team and just repeat the same nonsense. There's been little boring about our qualifying campaign so far Or our Euro 20 (21) efforts, and arguably WC 22 though it ended sooner than we'd have liked. That France game was a great game and if it hadn't been for a very rare Kane miss we'd have pushed them further. Nations league aside, where the team rotated quite a bit and seemed experimental, Southgate has produced some of the best performances I've seen from an England side. I absolutely get that he'll be judged by what he wins, and ultimately each campaign has ended in failure, but we're making progress. And following on from above, this is the big change that we might not quite see in the current flock - though there's definitely signs of it with Saka and Bellingham. With the build of St George's Park there was an emphasis on changing the style and developing better players like they do on the continent. There's evidence of this, with the u20s winning the World Cup in 2017, the u19s winning the Euros last year and now the u21s reaching a final again. Ozil, Boateng, Hummels, Khadira and Neuer to name a few We had Lee Cattermole ?
  7. Absolutely, probably more so than "just a work uniform", you have to perform in it, in a game of fine margins. I've had loads of shirts over the years, not just City and it's amazing how different in quality, fit and breathability they can be. I'm not saying a player will sign because of the kit, but you want to be comfortable in it dont you? Colour, probably less so important.
  8. And for those of us that still play on Saturdays, Fridays and Sundays are much better. For every person you disappoint, there’s probably someone else who gains. That’s just the way it is, would be much worse if we were on TV more too
  9. It’s 5 months away, it’s not like they’ve given a weeks notice. The message said something about an event clash, could it be a band touring or something?
  10. Yea he was, Tom Lawrence drove into Bennett’s car, both were drunk
  11. Disagree. They have to make an example, this man admitted to trying to affect the game/result. If he wasn’t treated harshly it could lead to others attempting the same. Going on the pitch is illegal and potentially carries a punishment, there’s no excuse.
  12. You’ve just said you don’t find them effective, so why would you fret?
  13. Does it only apply to away games then? They can’t really call what they have at the Mem a stadium
  14. I’ve never had a problem getting millwall tickets, even New Year’s Day / Xmas period games (we seem to play them quite a lot at that time of year?!)
  15. I found that with Macca last year, if you're too far away it's just not a great experience in my opinnion. You're almost just there for the sake of saying you were. I saw some people say they'd been at the front since 9am to get their spot. That's some effort
  16. Fairly certain we scored from one last season? Not directly but from the flick on edit: season before, Kalas was on throws for a while. 2:47 below
  17. The retro shirt scene is massive at the moment so you’d be looking to spend a fair bit especially on the 93 shirt (it’s actually available on classic football shirts.co.uk right now) they had the purple one from same season a few weeks ago and I just missed out on it. Pretty good advice, I’ve started buying the shirts again lately if for no reason other than to pass down to kids etc. trying to identify now what will be rare in a few years, those goalkeeper shirts a probably a good example and this years one off white sleeves
  18. We just played a whole World Cup with a back 4, and Italy in qualifying? we played 3 at the back in a couple of the nations league games, but last time was Germany before the World Cup as far as I can see.
  19. Well a Brighton CB was selected in the current squad, so that's not necessarily true. Webster was great for us but Dunk is just better IMO, and according to Brighton fans.
  20. I don’t know what people expect, the comments about England being boring are almost as tedious as someone saying the OS is the only site for official news… Comprehensive win without too much difficulty. Don’t forget we used to make these types of games look difficult
  21. Hell of a strike that
  22. No thread on this yet? Bit disappointing as this was one I really wanted to go to but couldn’t get tickets, one of my best mates is Maltese and we all went out on a football trip a few years back. Great place for a “lads” trip that’s less common than the usual. No Man City players starting tonight, punishment or just additional rest as their season finished later? Interesting to see Trent looking like he’s in a midfield role from the line up I’ve seen. Cant see past a big win for England here
