  1. Which would make the rumour they have sounded out Rowett seem unlikely.
  2. When did he last get anyone “top six”?
  3. Lumsden too, once he had to make his own decisions the wheels came off pretty quickly. Fawthrop was sort of an internal appointment, shambolic one though.
  4. Crayon boy’s comment about “our ambition to be promoted” was the icing on the cake. Stick to the basketball, absolute jokers.
  5. Don’t you mean Bristol Sport? Your employer?
  6. Someone who will say the Lansdowns are great & we should be grateful for all they’ve done for us. Not someone who will point out their 20 years in charge has seen absolutely no progress away from infrastructure. Another toady, like LJ. Bit of advice for crayon boy, in case he’s inexplicably involved here. If a permatanned man who sounds like Noddy Holder tells you he can trade our way to success, ignore him this time.
  7. Remember Reggie Perrin? There were 2 underlings who said “Great” & “Super” every time CJ spoke. We already have Tinnion, so we are just looking for the other one now.
  8. Don’t rule it out, was told yesterday we sounded him out recently & he’s keen. Could still be someone else of course but how can we trust these jokers to get an appointment right? Their track record (considering Cotts was Keith Dawe’s choice) is abysmal.
  9. Surprised he’s gone, thought he might have had a chance of the top job. Either he’s told them he’s not prepared to stay in the circumstances, which would be laudable or Tinnion does like him. Either way genuinely wish him all the best.
  10. Not surprised at all Tinnion is involved. From things I’ve heard he’s not the lovely bloke some like to claim. Managed to worm his way back in with the Lansdowns after his abysmal spell as manager & now seemingly in charge of all football matters, not good.
  11. I actually thought Cisse left in the summer. **** knows what he’s been doing of late. Joke, small minded nobodies who couldn’t accept a constructive challenge. Still it was nice to find out crayon boy was still alive.
  12. Confused by this. Some are posting they are bound to get their first win against us. Others that it is a bad thing if they win today. Both these things can’t be correct. No side keeps losing indefinitely (look at Cheltenham) & beating Rotherham on your own patch doesn’t mean very much at all. For someone like me who always keeps an eye on the bottom three it actually means we are still well clear. Next Saturday is huge but them winning today doesn’t change anything.
  13. They certainly do. You joined “yesterday” & since have posted a very large number of negative comments about Pearson. New fan? Someone who just decided to join OTIB but has supported us for years? Interesting development this, isn’t it?
  14. Unanimous would be 100%, so no. I don’t think a statement that said a considerable majority (certainly over 60%) still want him to stay is inaccurate. There are some on here who have wanted him out from very early on (one in particular became obsessed with this once we signed Danny Simpson) but they are hardly representative.
  15. He said they were only looking to revamp 3. The thin long stand down one side that looks a bit like a cricket pavilion & has corporate boxes is apparently being left as it is. There is room opposite it, the stand that bizarrely doesn’t go the whole length of the side could be added to, or demolished & replaced by one that does. Like the Lansdown it has the capacity to go taller because it isn’t near to any housing. He talked about having a 16-17k capacity, I have no idea how many the South Stand under construction will add to their current 9k? but assuming that is say around 3k it doesn’t seem too many more for what would be significant expenditure, does it? This is all before we get to where the money comes from.
  16. Yep & some of them then making really odd posts, like the Plymouth manager would be interested. Clearly some of them are banned posters who are trying to return under other names but you do have to wonder about a few of them’s really ultra positive take on the current ownership.
  17. Until Lansdown sells up, me too.
  18. Yep, but he had a large budget at Stoke & failed, a large one at Derby & he didn’t get them up. Absolutely no real track record of promoting young players, either. Not a single promotion on his CV, 2 playoffs with Burton & 1 with Derby.
  19. There’s no “allegedly”, he did. He also got Derby to the playoffs (for balance there he also spent a fortune that we now know Mel Morris didn’t have, in doing so), was memorably sacked by Birmingham when they were 7th & replaced by Gianfranco Zola who took them down the league at a rapid rate & was one of many to try & fail badly at Stoke. His Championship CV is decent but his football is pretty uninspiring. He’s certainly no Dean Holden type appointment though if it happened.
  20. Ainsworth’s record at QPR was W5 D4 L19. Wycombe were relegated in his only season at Championship level under him. ”Good football?” They were a relentless long ball side who played no football at all. Their playoff final win v Oxford was anti-football at its peak. I can’t tell if you’re on a wind up or serious, if it is the latter, then wow.
  21. Moore has had a pretty good week, lost 4-0 at home to Cardiff & 4-1 today at Leeds. Laughable suggestion. Evatt would be absolutely mad to leave Bolton (who are 2nd) to work for an owner that has completely lost interest.
  22. Bizarre interview. Definitely said a “record attendance” maybe as you said he meant highest crowd of the season? No idea if 8500 is, he just appeared to be talking absolute bollocks. Said they were “only 5 points from the playoffs” it is actually 7, with a vastly inferior goal difference, too. His criteria for a manager seemed to be “young” yet having “won promotion to the Championship” he then appeared to imply it would also be good if they’d won promotion “higher than that”. **** knows who he thinks might be interested, the current Ipswich manager? The plans for developing the ground appeared to be to do 3 sides of it over time but he was “hoping” for loans from banks. That really sounded like it was going to happen… Bet BCC & the local residents were also delighted to hear though that “from now on” they were going to do any development “by the book” which just confirmed that they hadn’t been doing so before. Wonder if he has a nice watch?
