  1. Do you not think though that had Pearson walked into the club and it was on the same financial footing as we were in the summer of 2019 say that he would still of been giving Bell , Conway Benarous etc as much game time? Im certainly not knocking Pearson for developing the younger players but i just feel at times he has been left with little choice because of our dire financial situation over the past 24 months or so.
  2. Agreed. I think LJ gave the younger players that were ‘good’ enough at the time the opportunity, the current academy crop we have coming through right now is arguably the best we have ever seen at the football club. As you said add to that the unbelievable find in Alex Scott and the same in Antoine and Pearson has in many ways been quite fortunate with the young players he has had at his disposal since he was appointed in 2021. Also worth noting that Pearson as of yet hasn’t had anywhere near the available funds that LJ had. In reality if Pearson hadn’t of had his hands tied financially like he has the last 3 or 4 transfer windows and had the war chest that LJ had over his tenure would players like Bell, Conway etc been given the amount of game time?
  3. Congratulations to them. Personally feel they will struggle next season though.
  4. He is arrogant though, isn’t he. Steve and the family come across as decent people, i certainly wouldn’t for one minute think their has been any malice in SL’s poor footballing decisions but it doesn’t excuse them and the damage they have done to the football club over the years. He does though time after time fail to see that he is at fault for any of it though i feel, and that’s why i think you get this underlying arrogant attitude from him in interviews. ‘Its my club, i’ll do as i please’ remember was trotted out from Steve in an interview not so long ago, i lost a lot of respect from him after he said that to be honest. As i said he isn’t a bad bloke and credit to him, we are certainly a better club off the field from where we were when we took over. He is fairly clueless when it comes to the footballing side of things though which is a shame as that will tarnish his legacy when he finally sells up.
  5. Decent start to be fair. Burnley look as if they could be there for the taking today.
  6. Indeed. It’s pure fantasy from our fans. Lets take the fee (hopefully £25 million plus) wish him well and move on and try and use the funds to build for a play-off push next season.
  7. Can see Levy doing what he does best though and asking for silly money for him that nobody is going to pay. The only club that will have the appetite for the deal would be United but I’m not even sure they will want to pay the £100m fee upfront that Levy wants.. Can genuinely see Kane being forced to stay again this summer irrespective of if he wants out or not.
  8. Late to the party only just seen the result as currently in Las Vegas at a pool party absolutely steaming! ? Fair play to the boys another home win will take that..! In Nige we trust, up the City ?
  9. Badge looks silicone but hard to tell from the picture..
  10. Agreed mate. I think performance wise we have been as you said superb since the turn of the year bar a couple wobbles. I think next season is going to be a interesting/exciting one. We are a couple of players away from seriously challenging IMO, get the recruitment right in the summer and next season we will be there or there abouts IMO.
  11. Was obvious what was going to happen. We needed that killer instinct in the first half but we just don’t seem to have it.
  12. Are there anymore working streams anyone is using? cheers!
  13. Indeed they did. I think the £8 million we paid was far too high and i thought so much at the time. Add to that the alleged £20 k a week he is on then it represents a pretty horrendous financial deal for us in reality.
  14. VAR has done the exact opposite of what it was supposed to do imo, it hasn’t improved decisions at all and we are now having to wait around for 3-4 minutes for a panel of people to still make the wrong call. It’s embarrassing and does make me question if there is something more sinister at work in regards to the bias decisions towards the bigger clubs. All football ever needed was clear and concise goal line technology IMO.
  15. It would. I think the streets around BS3 could get very interesting after the game if that does happen mind..!
  16. Can definitely see us having an improved season next year, not sure if we will quite have enough to sustain a promotion push but you really never know at this level. The summer recruitment is crucial. With the sale of Scott it’s going to be the first summer since 2019 that the purse strings are going to be relaxed somewhat - which is an exciting prospect as we now finally have a manager and recruitment team who know what they are doing in regards to signing players to fit a system and style of play. Keep key players fit for the vast majority of next season and add a few additions and we could surprise people.
  17. Always rated Mick at this level, thought he did a excellent job at Ipswich considering the lack of funds he had to spend there. Maybe time has caught up with him a bit though, you wonder where he goes from here.. at 64 this might be the end of the road for him.
  18. Never a pen that - shocking decision imo.
  19. Indeed. All about trying to finish as strongly as possible now. We have not finished in the top 10 since the 18/19 season - think thats got to be the aim now ?
  20. We back in with a shout of the play-offs then….?!
  21. Said it before and I’ll say it again, colin is an unbelievable manager at this level.
