Super
What is the difference with what Broad did and a guy claiming a "catch" that wasn't. The West Indies keeper got banned in the champions trophy didn't he?

Eco
Players dont walk in club cricket let alone a test match Possibly due to the shite example set by players like Broad. I love it how the ECB & England team go on about the Spirit of Cricket yet when it's tested the win at all costs mentality prevails.

A player doesn't have the right to claim a catch he knew he hasn't taken.
Lrrr
And Clarke can't complain at all after the last Ashes when he didn't walk despite hitting it to short leg off the face of his bat.
kevinmabbuttshair
Everyone in the ground knew he was out apart from umpire, disgusts me that Broad didn't walk. Obviously an old fashioned view. Australians have never walked, ever. Gilchrist apart. Laws state in the umpire's opininon.

The spirit of cricket was only put in the Laws by Colin Cowdrey when the laws were rewritten by the MCC when it was still running cricket. When a batsman in on nought or in single figures and walks then come back and have a pop until then it is a crock

HIGHRIDGE BCFC
We've already seen Bairstow walk in the same innings so the old fashioned values aren't entirely lost. You kind of know that Broad won't walk (And he's well within his rights not to),because he'd rather stay in the middle and frivolously blow a referral as per normal. Talk Of The Town
A batsman is with in his right to wait for the umpire and what broad did is with in the laws of the game end of story Indeed, it's in the laws of the game for the umpire to give the batsman out. So what Broad did is not cheating, it's just unsporting
Super
But this is what the review system is for isn't it? And the Aussies wasted them. Best way is to give each team one review then they won't waste them.
MichaelRobartes
If it's all about being moral then surely Trott should have refused to walk when he was wrongly given out knowing that he had got a big inside edge? No, he was told to go and had to walk. Why should Broad walk before the Umpire indicates that he should?
'Orns
Not hear any Aussies whining about it, they know they wouldn't have walked. Nothing to do with fair play, or the moral high ground, its international cricket ffs

Lrrr
Because he hit it to slip ffs ! It only went to slip because it came of Haddin something a lot of people are making seem a lot more blatant. I didn't watch it live so don't know how much of an edge sound there was but the ball had only just passed Broad when it bounced off Haddin to slip. Not saying the umpire was right in anyway of course, but everyone saying he edged it to slip isn't bang on.
