I hope not Johnson, for couple of reasons.

He is a hometown lad for me so I'd like to see him do well, he can turn it on in the big occasions and the way he tore the poms apart in the last series he has an aura about him. Half the English issues with Warne for example was in their heads.

I am torn between Harris and Hazlewood to drop one.

I think we need to play Siddle and Starc.

They will only pick three seamers though surely? So if you think Johnson, Siddle and Starc should play then that is your three.

I must say, I'd be baffled if they picked Siddle and can't see them doing so. Harris and Hazlewood will start I reckon so it is one from Johnson and Starc. If Harris isn't fit then both the lefties play.

Yorkshire aren't going to have any players left at this rate! I do wonder whether Bairstow might come in to keep wicket, while Buttler plays as a specialist batsman? Bairstow is a much better keeper, but Buttler has to play in the one day team. I suppose Billings would be the man to drop out, but that's a bit harsh after he contributed yesterday

Buttler is quality in the field as well

As Hodge says, Buttler is a superb fielder, but I can't see them taking the gloves off him as they seem to have identified him as the man across all formats. They did the same with Prior who wasn't the best keeper but ended up being one of the best in the world. Buttler left Somerset because he wanted to play as a keeper. If anything I'd say it's a shootout between Bairstow and Billings for that batting slot.

I like Siddle but you might be right.

I wouldn't bring Harris myself. Too suspect.

Bring a squad of Johnson, Starc, Siddle, Hazlewood and we'll be alright.

Harris is just too much of a fitness worry I guess?  Shame for the guy because when he hooks it all up it's pretty unplayable at times.  It's a good problem for Aus to have for sure...

Remember when he last did that?

england-ashes-2005.jpg

No he last predicted in 2013 when we won 5-0.

Me personally I think he's taking the p---.

The weather and conditions will play a part. I think we'll lose a test.

It'll be 3-1 I think.

My dad always told me we are perceived in England as arrogant pr1cks....

Anyway regarding the World Cup we will top the group and its between Eng and Wales who comes through with us.

Fair to say your old man was spot on there, Aussie

I can honestly count on one hand the amount of Aussie's I've spoken to about sport and walked away thinking that they were a rounded, sensible individual. I'd really like to think that this Ashes series is played out in a sporting manner, particularly after Phil Hughes and all the comments made by Clarke in the aftermath....but I just can't see it. Clarke, Watson, Johnson, Siddle - just a bunch of shit blokes. I suspect you probably feel the same about Jimmy, Broad etc - but I hope you lot drop the first bombs, then our lads really get stuck into you

I don't see us winning, and I wouldn't disagree with the 1-3 prediction, but I wouldn't write our boys off just yet

I used to like Clarke, but even he's become a bit of a twat.. my overriding memory of him now is his toys being thrown at the oval last time around.

Dirk Nanes always has come across as decent chap.. as did Brett Lee.  I guess the memories of 2005 and why they are so good is (perhaps Punter aside) is that they played hard but fair.  Both sides seem to have lost that attidude in the last couple of series.

Shane Watson is actually a really good bloke.

I remember he came up to Ipswich where he grew up a few years back after the bad floods and donated a load of his money and time helping out - particularly spent a lot of time with kids.

He also does a shitload of charity work up in Brisbane with Matt Hayden.

Siddle plays it up a bit on the pitch but off it again is a decent guy.

Dave Warner is a total ****t on and off the pitch.

He's had some idiotic run ins with journos.

Most test teams have at least one individual who causes problems usually with the opposing team. Australia are no different. Warner is their trouble maker as we saw with his attempted punch at Root not so long ago. India have at least two so do Pakistan. SA have the likes of Andre Nel..... The only squeaky clean team seem to be McCullums NZ.

After they dumped Jesse Ryder.

Doesn't Glenn always predict 0-5? It's his trademark. Warner comes across as a gobshite but I've always thought Clarke was alright. The arm breaker thing with Jimmy was pretty shitty but we've all had our moments.

Warner is a deadset cockhead no question.

Very good batsman though.

If he and Rogers get set we can be away on the first day of tests.

The same could be said about Ravi Jadeja. The Indian who accused Anderson of verbally abusing him. Afterwards he admitted that his English isn't too good.

Harbajan Singh is another although his english is very fluent as the Aussies discovered.
