Ten days now till we play Bolton. Time to rest a few tired legs for the cup or do we fancy a run in it?

It’s a winnable game RRH. Would love to see us give it a go. Cup run could have the same effect the League cup run did first half of last season.  You never know!

Personally I’m not too bothered about the FA Cup and won’t be going.

Im sure LJ will put out a ream he thinks can beat Hudderfield.

Genuine question here, why antagonise fellow fans who also have the best for the future of the club at heart?

The "doom and gloomers" love a result as much as the next man, but what they want is some actual consistency and convincing performances.

Even with another good result here at Stoke the performance has been not far off awful. It's fine to play bad and win, but when the wins stop and you're losing and playing poorly things can turn to record loss runs, as we've seen before. That is what the "doom and gloomers" fear, not whether they are right or wrong, but how quickly this club could sink if the results stop coming and all we're left with is a team who can't get the fans behind them because they play such drab football.

It matters because arguably a vocal minority of fans with an agenda of their own could prove to be a far bigger negative influence on the club as a whole than our supposed ‘clueless’ ‘out of his depth’ manager whose going to take us backwards anytime now

First half wasn't pretty - but we were resolute and organised and a classic sucker punch away goal for us against the run of play.

Kelly was quiet going forward but did a job on Ince.

Bailey Wright slipped excellently back into CB.

Grew into the game as the home fans got more frustrated.

A couple of cracking interventions from Niki - not least the penalty. What an underrated signing he is. Calm when needed, distributes well and some solid stops.

Thoroughly professional performance Famara outstanding in the lone striker role - took his goal well and was a focal point for relieving pressure. Jamie P frustrating but did provide the ball to Hunt for the 1st goal. Could have done better on a couple of occasions - everyone worked hard and we looked very solid in the second half despite the enforced substitution of Webster who clearly did not want to go off. Top result and excellent way to start the year!

Not after last season. Give squad players the shirt and if they beat Huddersfield Town Reserves next week then bloody marvellous and let them play in the next round. If not then no disaster.

I tend to this personally. Don`t give it away but don`t go full steam at it either. If we win, great, if we don`t no harm done.

Really not convinced we are quite flowing yet...missed pen, bar for them, and thought Pack could well have seen red, but blimey, what a result! Maenpaa, Webster and Fammy all very good today.

Its unfortunate we have been unable to overpower teams more at home this season, the only real difference between us and a top six at the moment, but we are what we are. Dare I say more of a GJ than a LJ (2017) style at the moment? Kind of away result and performance we have seen to often at AG this season, but 16 points off eight unbeaten games has put my 'might get dragged in to a fight at the bottom' collywobbles in their place.

Well done to the manager and team, and here is looking forward it a great 2019!

Fingers crossed he does it on a regular basis from now on.
