Lanterne Rouge
Unbelievable last ten minutes - four goals in time added on, two for both sides. The best of it was, it was 0-0 until the third minute of first half injury time when Ipswich scored. If Plymouth beat Exeter on Monday night (live on Sky) they go four points clear at the top and seven clear of Wednesday in third. spudski
Just now, TomF said: Ipswich's 3rd is a lovely worked goal to be fair.. but jeeze you forget how slow paced L1 is. You never get that much time on the ball in the championship. That was my thought exactly. Almost walking pace. Tbh...I thought Swansea were slow also in their build up play yesterday. I've noticed when teams play slow methodical build up play, the opposition often slow down in their press as well. I thought we did yesterday as well...then got more energetic after they equalised. You never get that much time on the ball in the championship. Spot on, so slow.. Couple of other thoughts, fair play to the ref, very easy just to play the 6 minutes on the board but Ipswich’s time wasting was off the scale. A full minute before the game restarted after they made it 3-2 & nearly as much again after their 4th. Absolutely brilliant tackle by Thomas, the Charlton 3 at 3-4 (he’d also scored the third) & the lad who got the 4th (Dobson) is probably the best defensive midfielder at that level, be amazed if Jason Euell hasn’t suggested him for us

Port Said Red
Anyone missing Mark Ashton will no doubt get a dose of corporate speak tomorrow evening. I am sure he won't miss the chance to get on national/international television to highlight how well the team is performing, what a great job he is doing on the East Coast.
petehinton
Now out of the automatics….I’m sure Ashton will throw another few million onto the pile in January as a result. If they don’t go up this year, they are deeply ******

Especially with the “skill of luck” comment. I think Ashton will be shitting himself if they don’t get promoted. Davefevs
Here’s a list of all their transfers in 18 months: I’ve crossed through in black, those players that Transfermarkt include, such as promotions from u21 to first team and returning loans. I’ve circled in red those players that signed last summer, and who moved on by the end of this summer, either perm or loan. They now want more players…forwards!! Strikers (forwards) signed so far: Bonne - loan / ended last season Celina - loan / ended last season Barry - loan / ended last season Aluko Pigott - now out on loan (red circled) Chaplin Harness Ladapo John-Jukes - loan Ahadme to accompany what they already had: Norwood - now left Jackson - tried to move him on, couldn’t, so now back in the squad Simpson - couldn’t retain him, sold to Huddersfield Ashton claims they were net £0 on transfer spend. Absolute horse hit. 6

Davefevs
Ipswich recruitment summed up here: Buy a striker (free summer 22, good wages). Don’t play him. Loan him out to a team in your own division. They don’t play him much either. Moan he’s not had game time. Joe Pigott btw.

Ashton was allowed free rein to appear to do what he wanted, but ultimately the buck stops at the top. Ashton is unlikely to have signed the cheques but is likely to have requested the money spent. Every manager wants two or three more players , Johnson was very quick every transfer window to state it ,Ashton would no doubt go to the board that these players would see us over the line and the Lanswdowns would sign off the expenditure. The bulk of the blame is with our ownership , unlike Ipswich we asked no questions or challenges Edited January 3, 2023 by daored
