Burnley away match thread

Can't argue with the result, Burnley best side we have played so far. Understand why Scott was subbed off at HT, but we didn't half miss his play in midfield second half.

I wasn’t suggesting both should start, just felt for them when they come on but don’t produce the goods and get slated. It’s not easy.

Shame, not quite at the races today. Had our chances at times but a fair result. Burnley are a very tidy ram.

Decent effort this week just beaten by 2 very good teams. Easier games on the way.

O well. Cannot complain about the result today. Last two games been in it to up to the  last kick, but just falling a little short. We know where we are weak, NP I am sure does as well, it is what it is.

Looked a bit tired today and not quite clicking up front, but for all their possession they managed 6 on target to our 5. A break and a chance to regroup.

Yes we missed his bite come 2nd half and yes Burnley were deserved winners if they don't go up they have under performed.

Lost to a better side than us, just go through their team man for man, wage for wage, but still competed. Not going to ruin my weekend.

The thing to take away from the last two games is we have been competitive and played at times some good football. Making mistakes against top sides like Burnley and Norwich will only end one way though. 

Ten games in though and we are 8th we I am sure we would all have taken.

We would have lost both those games last season by a lot more than the odd goal but it's still disappointing we can't seem to defend. I look forward to the day we get it right at both ends.

I’d argue it also shows how far we still have to go . I am really starting to get pissed off with how bad we are at the back 

It’s almost a goal giving clanger every game now. They are letting the rest of the squad down big time

Losing at Burnley is OK, especially after a tough game at Norwich (where we deserved more than we got).

This time the international break comes at the right moment, because the team need to regain some energy...providing Scott & co. won't be overused by their national teams.

Still 8th and a point off top six after two tough away games and a world of travelling - I`ll take that.

No shame in defeat. Burnley the best side City have faced this season and moved the ball around slickly. 

We worked INCREDIBLY hard and nearly snatched an equaliser.

Scott's industry and creativity was badly missed in the second half, but Pearson was probably worried about that yellow card.

10 games done, and Norwich and Burnley away done which are gonna be two of the hardest games of the season. 

I’ve seen enough to think we’re in for a genuine play offs push this season.

No real complaints, the schedule did us few favours, two relegated Parachute clubs. Our strikers have scored goals vs these ex PL sides away from home- there will be easier games to come and this two week break comes at a good time probably.

We do have a long way to go. Everyone knows (or bloody well should do) that and we've all been told that enough times by the management. We aren't a top 6 side but we have shown more than enough to think that we won't be a struggling one either.

Agree with many comments…but Naismith was player of the year at Luton on the LHS or a three?  We certainly need that dominant centre half, and perhaps move  KN in the midfield. I see Kalas replacing Zak and would like to see Klose in the middle.  
fixture scheduling unkind with Norwich and Burnley. Looking forward to two home games..

We have come a long way since last year. We would have expected nothing out of the those two games last year. The fact that we are  all disapointed shows how far we have come.

 

Would swap Williams for James next game. He is more mobile,

I'm still feeling positive despite consecutive defeats. We are a decent team capable of scoring in every game. We all know where we are lacking, and it's massively frustrating sometimes, but I'm thoroughly enjoying watching us play at the moment, especially considering how dire we have been in recent years.

Big Nige and his mob know what we need, I trust him to get it right.

At least we haven`t let in six at home and aren`t in the bottom four of the third division.

Unfortunate with 2 hard away games and them having an extra days rest. 

Thought we looked better earlier in the game when we pressed high man for man, when we dropped off and just let them play from the back and dictate the game, they looked much better.

We would have lost both games by four or five eighteen months ago so it`s progress for me.

Not for me.

We won't win enough games if we keep giving teams 4 shots on target per game and keep conceding at this rate. Have to get that down to 3 per game to give ourselves a chance.

Good that we've scored in every game though.

Our average game over these first 10 is a 2-2 draw. That doesn't get you play-offs in the long run.
