The Injured List

James and Bentley get the night off, Bajic, Atkinson, Kadji, Morrison all in the squad (the first three starting). I guess Bajic has built fitness… ?

Injured:

Naismith

Kalas

Wilson

Benarous

With Atkinson back that’s only 4 injured which is really good. Let’s ave these tonight. I’m very early and typing this from a quiet concourse. COYR.

This season is starting to smell awful.

Injured:

Naismith

Kalas

Wilson

Benarous

Atkinson the only sub off that looked like injury may have played a part, looked like a head bump. We’ll keep an eye. **** me, that was upsetting.

Bajic, Low, Klose, Kadji and Morrison disappear from the squad in the week, Klose the only surprise. A Pearson banishment maybe?

Bentley, James and (now seemingly unbanished) Massengo make the 18. James in from the start. No returns from injury sadly.

Naismith

Kalas

Wilson

Benarous

At the WC break here’s a summary of all 24 matches missed (league and cup):

image.thumb.png.e7551ad801c5b0ba73cd6c53905770bb.png

and here’s a summary of yellow cards, next limit is 10 yellows by game 38:

I know many will be worried about Scott getting to 10 and another game ban, but that’s the way he plays and a game off at some point would probably happen anyway.

No Kalas, Wilson or Benarous in the squad today as expected. Slightly odd though is the lack of Vyner and Dasilva. Klose and Massengo are bombed out but the other two? With Kadji taking a place on the bench I wonder if there’s a sickness bug or something. All speculation for now though.

Some day of football this. Let’s start strong with 3 big points. COYR. ?⚪

Lovely return, really enjoyed that. Played some good stuff in moments and defended well. O’Leary very good (barring a bit of ropey kicking - easily forgiven). Sadly, Weimann takes a knock. Hopefully not serious!

Injured:

Kalas

Vyner - ill

Dasilva - ill

Wilson

Benarous

Weimann

Weimann, Vyner, Dasilva all fit; the first 2 in the XI, Jay on the bench.

Atkinson and Kadji absent from the squad to allow Vyner and Dasilva back in, we’ll keep an ear out to see if Atkinson has a knock. Kadji is surely just out through competition.

Kalas

Wilson

Halfway through the season and 27 points - could be close. Two more tough games this month… it’s all a bit concerning but this squad is more than good enough to see us over the line. We were the better side today imo, we HAVE to start converting that to points.

Injured:

Kalas

Wilson

Benarous

A bit of a knock for Williams led to some limping - fingers crossed not an issue.

Only 1 change to the 18 today, Martin out and Atkinson in. Starting XI unchanged from Stoke. Klose and Massengo in the wilderness, not sure if Martin has an issue or is just out through competition.

Injured:

Kalas

Wilson

Benarous

Edit to add: I’ve been critical of some of Pearson’s tenure but since he brought in Rennie our availability numbers are so much better. Massive credit. Makes writing this list a lot easier!

Seemingly a new injury yesterday in Andy King. I don’t particularly like him as a starting CB but never want any of ours injured. Hopefully just a knock.

Wilson

King

Benarous

Any update on Wilsons fitness?

I’ve heard nothing, though I believe Kalas is now due back. Benarous of course has had the reoccurrence so not at all soon - all the best Ayman in your recovery.

I’m guessing he did his ankle / foot in the challenge on Dike at the near post from a cross?

It’s not good news I’m afraid.

Conway and Weimann - both looked like hamstrings. Pring limping too apparently? Shoulda played the b’s.

Kalas

Wilson

Benarous

Weimann

Conway

Pring stayed on so we’ll wait and see.

Naismith seen hobbling post game so may be a knock there - will add him to the list if he’s absent Saturday. Whatever XI goes out Saturday, be it patched up or full strength, need to find a way to win. 3 tricky but winnable league games this month - let’s start climbing. COYR ?⚪

Conway and Weimann’s squad places are taken by Taylor-Clarke and Kadji. Massengo, Klose and Martin are fit to my knowledge so it’s a bold call. Let’s hope it pays off, we’re 20th so need to start bloody winning!

Best day at the Gate in a long while - really fun day. Credit where it’s due to Nige - shape change worked a treat and atmosphere helped no end! Wonderful stuff ?⚪?⚪

Semenyo and Scott both took knocks but hopefully they’re both fine. Didn’t look too bad for either.

Well, nice to still be fighting on two fronts I guess! Wasn’t that fussed on the result tonight but I’d be lying if I said the Bell goal didn’t almost bring my house down.

Pring… hopefully a precautionary sub after a night in the wars. Will update if I hear anything but for now let’s assume and hope he’s fine.

Any news on Wilson….really looking forward to seeing a ‘fit’ Kane Wilson…last news was on the 11/1 from Dave Fevs and I recall the club saying at the end of the summer it would be early next year..

I wonder who would make way now we seem to have gone to a back four? You can`t justify Zak or Rob A being left out on current form.

Nobody yet but to have him in the 18 would be good.

Last thing we want to do is a) Throw him right back in and he pulls up again or b) Unsettle an improving defensive unit with a sudden switch (by unit I mean defending as a team).

No doubt a fit and in form Kalas is great to have but feel it best we ease him back in right now.

And that’s exactly what we’ve done, 1 change to the 18 as Kalas replaces Kadji on the bench. Love to see it. Here’s hoping with time comes form and with form, a new contract.

Wilson

Most of the season we’ve been around the 4 mark for injuries - very solid. Rennie was a damn good pick up from Nige.

Weimann should be back next weekend, I hope. It was quoted as 2 weeks wasn’t it?

Big pinch of salt with any timeframe given by the club - they almost always underplay it.

We played well today, refs didn’t help us. I suspect we’re saving all our referee luck up for the FA Cup final. ?

No shocks in todays line-up as Bentley (?), Antoine (?), and Pring (suspended) are replaced by Haikin (?), Kadji, Thomas and Francois. 3 replaced by 4 as we have used one of the allotted extra spots on the bench. COYR ?⚪

Dasilva capped off a really excellent return to the turf with a knock - but he looked fine doing his lap of honour. And didn’t we look fine on the pitch. Oh my what a performance. Feels a special day to me ?⚪

When are we expecting Wilson to come back into the fold? I am really interested, and excited frankly, to see what he can do.

Based on the performances yesterday of George Tanner and Mark Sykes, poor old Wilson must be wondering whether, even when he is match fit, when he is going to be given the opportunity to show us.

Things change quickly. Tanner must have worried about his future when we were playing 3-5-2 and WB was the way forward and him being classed as a FB. TBF I thought that was doing him a disservice . But then Wilson comes in with a good rep, then Sykes was playing really well as WB , Tanner looked no where near the team. TBF I think Wilson could play that more advanced role Sykes is playing, but it shows how quickly things change and how luck (good or Bad) can play a part.

5 out, 4 in on the Matchday Squad (one fewer bench spot).

King, Taylor-Clarke, Kadji, Thomas and Francois are replaced by the returning Pring (from suspension), returning Weimann (from injury - great news) and exciting new boys Cornick and Mehmeti. Only Pring into the XI for today, the other 3 on the bench - a very good looking bench too.

I couldn’t watch yesterday as I’m in Poland with some buddies but of the 4 subs, it was only Naismith that was injured right? Bell, Wells, Tanner all tactical?

Phenomenal win by the way - 8 unbeaten and starting to put some real ground between us and the bottom three. Fantastic, COYR ?⚪?⚪??

Any news on Naysmith anybody , we criticise him when he plays but we don’t half miss him when he doesn’t.

heard nothing about his injury since Saturday ( if he was injured )

There’s been no club / media interviews yet, so no update as it stands.

Let’s hope no news is good news , been such an improvement on the injury front since Nige came in .

just a bit frustrating we seem to get 1 back then 1 goes down - kalas back possibly naysmith out .
