Goal sizes were decided over 100 years ago where the average height of a man was 3 inches shorter. Probably closer to a woman today than a man today.
Apparently City’s keeper today is just over 5’.5”
Compared to Dan Bentley just over 6’.1”
8” difference to play in the same goal seems a lot
-
One of the biggest differences in the men’s /women’s games for me is the goalkeeping. Moments like that 3rd goal seem to be more common, I wonder if the goals are too big as I guess the keepers are overall smaller than the men

That won’t happen. I’ll be surprised if City women lose by less than 4.
The odds I have seen still have Chelsea favourites with City given a 4 goal start, so as you say, unlikely

Can’t even find anything on Sky bet, I guess they think it’s so one sided.
C’mon City, let’s cause a major upset

Royal London cup final on a Thursday.
What’s the ******** point, a great competition in its different guises over the decades and now reduced to a 2nd eleven competition with a final they’ll be praying nobody watches and will be a poor game or rained off. All so the T20 might look a bit better.

The club would have been waiting for this moment for months and been ready to implement a ballot or whatever at the drop of a hat.
I wonder how long they’ll keep us waiting before letting us know their ticketing plans?

What happened to Hirst - can’t seem to find much info
Good question. If I remember right he was studying at Bristol Uni while playing for us.
I'm guessing he was being paid peanuts playing for us, a couple years after going bust. So as a post graduate from Bristol could probably earn more in the real world.
would love to know what happened to him and if he ever played football for anyone

Up there with my favourite games ever.
That and Chester away a bit later for promotion were the 2 games that marked the end of as bad a few years any club had ever had.............I would finish that sentence with - and marked the start of our rise back up the top flight - 36 years later, nearly there!!

We’re literally one of the hotspots for levels of infection in the country with the rates soaring. No chance it will anything other than tier 3.
Sure but for how long? Exeter’s numbers went nuts but came down as quick as they’d gone up. Clutching at straws here but the Boxing Day game is still nearly 5 weeks away

Don’t know if it’s been mentioned but has anyone had there refund for the matches to the end of the year as promised last week?
if Bristol numbers fall as quickly as they rose we might be paying it back.
I’ve not had mine, they did say by the end of the month but now might hold fire

As an aside to a fellow Devonian it will be interesting to see how they approach the county as a whole. Will Plymouth/Exeter/Torbay be in a higher tier than the rest of us I wonder?
Yes it is a difficult situation, Teignbridge is currently bottom of the Devon cases league and when I last looked 3rd bottom in the country but out of my window across the bay I look over Torbay which is high and a place I visit every day for work.

When will we find out which areas are in which tiers do we think? i`m guessing we`ll be in tier 1 down here in Devon but Bristol will be in tier 2 or 3?
Even if 4k fans were allowed in to AG I doubt I`d want to go - I don`t want to drive 120 miles on my own to sit on my own (none of the people I go with are in my `bubble`) and then drive 120 miles home again.
The club need to do an initial canvas to see who feels the same as I do so they can be removed from the ST total and then see how many are left.
I’m not joking, I miss that place so much I’d go if I was the only person allowed

So we’ll have to wait until Bristol is in tier 1, where I live in Devon has been in the bottom 10% of the country pretty much the whole time, fingers crossed it stays that way.
I’ll be furious but not surprised if I can’t go when it actually happens.

Didn't like some of our players trying to scuff up the penalty spot while their player was being treated.
Seen it done before by other teams, memories thinking against England? thought it was wrong and im not changing my mind now our players are doing it
-
As long as we're allowed in to watch I don't really care what the format is. First thoughts, it seems ok, though I'd like to know how they come up with the groups
-
The points deduction will have to be less than the original 12 points as we've 4 games fewer to play to claw them back
-
Doesn't look like it's going to be.
But what a season, albeit a truncated one. A real team, 7 different players made centuries, the bowling figures were unreal for our seamers, the youth coming through are already looking like half a future England team.
We've proved we don't rely on spin, we don't need overseas players, although our top order weren't at their best our tail nearly always wags.
The future is bright and something would have been not quite right to win this but still after 125 years we wouldn't have been county champions. Let's do it properly next year.

Most wickets have fallen after tea in this match .........but I'm not sure about 6 falling
-
It looked out, every fielder was celebrating immediately so it's hardly a shocking decision even if he didn't nick it

Lewis has always gone well at Lords, think he masters the slope. The rest haven’t bowled that badly on what really isn’t the greatest of wickets. Maybe we need to get Abell and Lamonby to have a go
No they've certainly not bowled badly, it's just they were almost unplayable at times this summer
-
Some of the balls from Gregory make you realise how Davey hasn't been at his best this match and Overton to a lesser extent.
-
It's gonna be a last minute decision at 1pm which game gets streamed on the main tv and who gets the laptop, plus which game's commentary I'll be listening to.
Stressful stuff!

It's not stretching it to say, if Sir Alistair had retired from all cricket when he retired from test cricket like many others do, we'd have this game almost sewn up and might even be current county champions.
Well played Sir!
