I'm not really sure how to feel about this, some suggestions online Robinson will be dropped for the 2nd test, you get the standard response of 'its ridiculous, he's apologised'. But in reality has there been any form of punishment for his actions? The public apology, did it really cost him anything? Publicly it'll probably blow over very quickly with few people caring. The ECB have also put themselves in a corner with how they treated Kohler-Cadmore and Clarke (fine and 4 game suspension), if Robinson didn't face any punishment (from England) does it send a message that there's no repercussion if you're in the main England team rather than just with the lions when its discovered?
Thinking logically how much test cricket was Robinson likely to play this summer? Woakes is back for the India series as likely is Stokes, I imagine England will want to see Olly Stone before the ashes and you'd hope they'd like to see Craig Overton as well. The India is a 5 test series, so give Robinson a 4 game ban like the other 2 got, misses Edgbaston and Stone replaces him, misses the first 3 India tests and returns for tests 4 & 5, he'd likely play as many tests as originally he might have this summer anyway and the ECB shows they've acted.
You’ve almost answered your own question there. They can easily be seen as doing the ‘right thing’ and making a statement because he’s unlikely to play anyway.
If it was say Root in a similar situation, no way would they consider banning him for a game

Good to see Marcus Trescothick get a “not bad for a gas head” remark in his speech as he presented Bracey with his cap. As well as saying he’ll take him down next time they play football

Missing Overton and I think in the second innings Leach

I must admit I’ve finally got used to Somerset’s top order being woeful, especially in the first innings. I used to get wound up but now I just know the middle/bottom order will always dig us out. Incredible really, never known a team like it.

Anyone hear the Simon Mann/Vaughan exchange?
Bracey had just taken his first test catch, which Mann praised him for - exchange went something like this:
MV: Unlike you to praise someone from that side of the city. For those that don’t know, James Bracey is a big Bristol Rovers fan. Allegedly, he’s a real anorak about lower league football
SM: Well he’d have to be supporting them
Yes it started with Vaughan asking him if he enjoyed being on comms when a Rovers fan took his first test catch.
Mann said - you can’t have it all your own way.
Vaughan now amused asked him if it’s a double edge sword when Bracey does anything good .
Mann: ..............’silence’................Robinson bowls to Conway
Then as you say he soon jumped on the Bracey’s apparent knowledge of the lower leagues.
I think Simon preferred commentating on Trescothic

That might be it for this game, What a shame the weather has spoilt this, Somerset we’re clearly up for revenge and I think they’d have got it

Good fight back for the 7th wicket, the only way there will be a result now is if the captains contrive a finish tomorrow.
With the forecast for rain in the afternoon I think that’d entail the Glos captain forfeiting their 2nd innings.......and 5 wickets of this innings

What a knock from Abell, best part though bringing up the 300 and declaring to stop Glos picking up another bonus point
Shhhhh! That’s against the rules

Played Abes. Our first ton of the season, after this many games last season I think we’d had about 6 different players scored tons.

4 of the 5 matches today were thrillers that went down to the wire.
Anyone who feels the need for the 100 tournament to gain an interest in cricket are barking up the wrong tree.

Fair play Gloucs, they made it hard work playing the joker but got the job done.

Extraordinary 2 games against Middlesex, we really have had some incredible 4 day cricket in the last few seasons.
It’s vital this format is protected and encouraged at every opportunity- 4

Seems bonkers can’t sit at Taunton and watch cricket yet people can watch the snooker inside. The vast majority at the county championship games are likely to be fully vaccinated !
It really is the craziest of all the fans at sporting events rules.
I’m in the draw for the restricted crowd for the next game

Another thrilling finish at Taunton and other grounds.
I love the County championship so much, can't wait to get back.
Meanwhile Somerset's Jos Buttler gets an IPL ton off 55 balls

This is why you shouldn’t always bust a gut to save a 4

No, I was just saying that I wouldn't have thought (or been surprised if) it was one of the biggest outfields (having been there a couple of times), no mention of age .
Another 5 just scored, definitely overthrows this time.
i haven’t been there for decades but I do remember someone saying it recently, according to Wiki it’s one of the biggest amongst the county grounds but not as big as some test grounds.
Everywhere looks big when you’re from Taunton

Hit helmet is a good suggestion.
Re. ‘Our Glos. friend’, maybe I am wrong, but I thought he was joking about you saying you remember Grace, i.e. WG.
Incidentally, COVE got Patel first ball this morning - 51/4.
Great start, although it’s a game we are expected to win you’ve still got to produce the goods.
Should wrap up the win today

I have never been to Grace Road, but I would be surprised if they could run 5, no matter how far away the boundaries are - I suspect they were overthrows, but shall ask on the Grockles forum as I am sure AGod amongst others was watching the live stream.
Incidentally, concerning Grace, I believe our Glos friend @slartibartfast is suggesting you might be getting on a bit .
Maybe it was ball hit helmet, that’s 5 runs isn’t it?
I have seen all ran fives without overthrows, when fielders would have been better off letting it go for 4.I didn’t really understand our Glos friend but there, I am getting on.......though nowhere near as much as he’s getting on

I am out and about today, so unable to watch the live stream.
Just catching up with the score on Cricinfo and the Somerset site, however, I note that we have scored two fives, presumably overthrows, and that Tom Abell was saved from a tight runout as the umpire was looking in the other direction!
Is anybody watching and able to advise?
A quick check on the Grockles site reveals a post from @TomF’s favourite, who confirms he has checked the scorecard and that Tom Abell’s possible runout was definitely Not Out!
I didn’t see the 5’s but I do remember Grace rd is one of the larger outfields in county cricket so could have been all ran to a long boundary

Well played Glos, deserved victory. First home defeat since June 2017. Every run comes to an end eventually.........even City will win at home again one day

Can’t believe we’re not allowed in when you see other groups outside enjoying themselves.
Mind you, I reckon there would be a big crowd in normal times.
Honours even, should be a good game.

Sorry if this has been asked before but if Bristol win the league do they get a league trophy and then go into playoffs for a different cup or do they just do the latter? Which would be ridiculous
