  1. Sadly it hurts every time I see a new club promoted to the Prem before we do. I know we have been 'top flight' before, but it hurts. We've come close only really once since 1980. The club is massive in terms of support, infrastructure and potential, but we have been acting like a small club for way too long. Probably ourselves and Plymouth really.

Just me has this been 3 pretty dire play off finals
  3. Bournemouth you have been useless
  4. Please Bournemouth just do your job and send Everton down. The meltdown would be great
  5. I watched the whole time thinking eventually Dortmund will blitz Mainz here. Just didn't happen. The usual huge atmosphere Dortmund have just slowly evaporated as the game went on. Was a very strange match to watch. Have to feel for their supporters today.

I genuinely don't know why any City fan would wish Luton well. It was bad enough with Blackpool in 2010, then Bournemouth, then Brentford but Luton going to the Prem before us really is a bitter pill to swallow. In the global sphere of Football today, where new generations of football fans are being born by the minute everything that happened pre 1992 is becoming more irrelevant, sadly. Unfortunately the clubs who are a Premier League club and clubs who are 'Former Premier League' clubs are the ones who are seen as relevant in the mainstream media and global football community. Everything else is irrelevant. We will always be seen as small time by the casual fan until we one day make the Premier League. It's sad but true

Plymouth, Preston, Millwall, Rotherham will likely get promoted before we do. I can't see it ever happening for us as sad as it sounds
  8. I watched the game and the whole set up pre match and at the start felt very cagey and nervy for my liking. I don't think their players handled the situation very well at all. They ideally needed to start fast, go 1-0 up early but they didn't. Bayern went ahead and the pressure mounted, Mainz went a goal up and Dortmund immediately got a penalty, which they missed. Mainz were always a threat on the counter for sure but Dortmund in my opinion lost all composure on the final day when it mattered. Unfortunately for Mainz I think the whole of Germany will hate them now for allowing Bayern Munich winning yet another Bundesliga title ?
  9. I don't think i've seen a last day bottlejob as bad as this ever

    Utterly depressing to be honest
  11. Having played Football at an ok standard I can confirm that even the smallest amount of positive support can push players that extra 10-20%.
  12. The stats were embarassing that game. We should have lost 8-2 but won 2-1. We were very 'spawny' under LJ and Holden

Get in Stockport. Do not want the Salford vanity project to be successful.
  14. Hampshire's accent is what I would call 'fake cockney'. Salisbury and South Wiltshire are very much like this too.
  15. Why cant we play Newport and Swindon away and give fans a chance to go? Can't stand the phrase Robins HPC ?
  16. Best side this Country has ever seen. They're incredible

Proper play off final imo. 2 sides who haven't been in the top flight for a while. Bit like Bristol City vs Hull in 2008? Hopefully Coventry win, the side who play Football and not Rugby.

    Playoffs

They may get it forward quite a lot, but on very few occasions have they scored over 2 goals so they must not have a lot of quality in the final 3rd to make clear chances to score, they certainly do put pressure on sides that's for sure but they're 'effective' rather than beating teams based on the quality that the side possess. However, they are the best side in the League BY A MILE at set pieces and most goals I ever see Luton score usually come from a corner, like last night. Their 0-0 draw at Millwall in April was among one of the worst games of Football I've seen in a long time at this level. They don't impress me, they play very much a modern version of kick and rush imo.

What do you enjoy seeing when you watch them play? I've seen them in quite a few games this season and they're like a Warnock side, to me.

That is unbelievable. Mowbray isn't getting the respect he deserves. Blackburn did similar to him.

    Playoffs

I'm the same as you on this. I wouldn't want to be seen as the team playing football Stoke did in 2008 or how I view Luton play right now. I know Football IS ultimately a results business, but how I watch my team play and enjoyment in watching City is far more important than just grinding results out every week. I must admit i've enjoyed the last 2 seasons much more than I did the last 3 seasons of Lee Johnson's reign simply because of how we set up to play. There is no right and wrong to how we view the game, some are win at all costs and some go to the football not just for a result but to be entertained and I've watched Luton play on about 10 occasions this season and I've never once found them enjoyable to watch.

    Playoffs

Luton are very good at the basics, which many other Championship teams are not. They are brilliant from set plays and when they lose the ball they immediately press to get the ball back. Sadly they also have good defenders in Lockyer and Osho. Yes I also cannot stand Lockyer either. Hopefully they don't win the playoff final as I don't think I can stomach seeing yet another club of a similar level to ourselves reach the Premier League before we do.
  23. I think the hatred is targeted towards their fanbase and Arsenal Fan TV has done nothing to help that case. If it isn't directed towards their fans, it's probably envious Tottenham, Chelsea or Man Utd fans right now. Haters will always hate.
  24. It massively killed their momentum losing to Sporting Lisbon , however they had got lucky a few times before with comebacks, particularly the Bournemouth home game. They just don't have the squad like Man City do.
  25. Typical modern football fans. A football club who finished 8th 2 years ago 'bottles it' for ending up 2nd in a title race with Man City. When Arsenal were 8 points clear Man City had a game in hand and also had Arsenal to play at home. If it was Arsenal 8 points clear with a game in hand i'd may say different.
