  1. Just genuinely think the Tournaments will be nowhere near as good on quality from any of the World Cups from 1998 - 2022. The expansion to 32 was justified due to 24 teams meaning that 3rd placed sides would qualify from Groups from 86 - 94. I don't see the 48 team world cup as signs of good 'progress'. I see it as a money making scheme for FIFA and the smaller Football Associations so they can play on the big stage. For my generation (born in the early 90s) i'm not sure the World Cup will feel the same going forward.
  2. It's better than the 16 Groups of 3, but I still do not believe a 48 Team World Cup is good. What I cant stand is when a side like Finland will qualify and the BBC and ITV media teams will be saying 'Such a huge achievement to qualify'. Well, it's not really going to be hard anymore is it?
  3. Getting hammered in the first half at Bloomfield Road gives me bad memories of 2002
  4. It looks absolutely dreadful and screams a big corporate HR department pushing for this flying Robin to be put out there for everyone to see. So out of touch with the fans it's unbelievable.
  5. The best kits generally these days are the ones that are very simple designs and can be worn casually. Going back to old style kits isn't really what I consider to be unoriginal anymore. We try and be different all the time, but we're not. The new badge itself is just a copy of Brentford's and it still is absolutely shocking. I am glad there is no Purple kit this season anyway.

For most of the last 30 years Blackpool have been a League 1 side. It's like Rovers claiming to be a bigger club than we are because they were once better than us in the 1950s. Blackpool are League 1. So are Bournemouth and Brentford who are currently in the Prem imo.

They were as bad a team I have seen for a while. I'm not surprised they are overreacting, they looked like a League 1 side.
  8. Definitely one of the better Championship Ref's. Think he did a couple of other Home matches for us early on this season too
  9. Thought King was excellent today
  10. Anyone noticed how years ago Rovers would have a couple of players who would go on and reach the top flight in their careers and nowadays they have literally zero? Just came to my mind when I saw the Stewart photo. Last player I can think of that was successful after leaving them was Lambert.
  11. Every club has them, unfortunately. A bit silly to say all of our fans are basically the same after that incident by the Blackpool fan on their forum tbh.
  12. I think that was the main reason why Carragher and Souness were in amazement about G Nev's comments. You have to give some credit to the opposition for that scoreline too. Even Keane had a wry smile on his face during the debate. He knew that G Nev was talking through passion rather than with his brain. Like you said, Man Utd have been excellent for the last 3 or 4 months and it is is a freak result. Couldn't have had a worse performance against a worse club from United's point of view.

    Tuesday night

Sorry to spread positivity, but sadly I predict a 1-0 defeat.
  14. Personally thought G Nev had lost his head for a few minutes. Must hurt seeing his team lose 7-0 to his most despised team though. I f****** hated their Fergie era
  15. I am certain Liverpool offered Man Utd a load of players after the Munich air disaster? So i'm not sure that is particularly correct. There has always been a long standing rivalry between the two Cities. Liverpudlians did not like the fact Manchester had built a ship canal during the industrial revolution which effected the City's trade massively. In terms of Football, there has always been a rivalry due to the fact both clubs are easily the biggest two clubs in England, but it probably wasn't until Fergie took over United that they turned their attentions away from Manchester City and to Liverpool as they were winning everything during the 70s and 80s. Funnily enough the weird thing about both clubs is they have much more in common than they would ever like to admit, and glory hunters/Media love in aside it is a fascinating rivalry.
  16. Totally agree with this. I like Bell, obviously a talent and has a good future but i'm surprised that not many have raised eyebrows at him now starting ahead of Wells. Not that Wells has been firing much in the last month, but he is a better option than Bell right now. He did a lot of running about today did Bell, but that's about it. Too weak currently
  17. It's ok though as we don't ever shoot outside the area
  18. Poor touches everywhere, 2nd to most balls, forced passes. Oh well, Cardiff have deserved it so no complaints from me
  19. Too many people cannot separate the hierarchy of the club from its fans. The fans of a club will ALWAYS be the heart and soul of it, that's why I do not judge Man City based on who owns them. Their fans are a good bunch and majority have been there for years supporting them. The fans never asked for the club to be run by 'Abu Dhabi FC' but are not going to turn down success are they yet some on here sit here like we are morally superior, we are not. Every single club would be extremely happy to have what Man City have had in the last 15 years.

Kavanagh was always a thorn in our side. Was playing at a level below his talents, same when they had Whittingham.

Would agree with majority of that. Loved the rivalry in 2000's. Doesn't seem the same anymore. The journey to get to the Prem sounds great though, but the final destination I hear isn't as great as is made out. I personally would never care if Bristol City never made the Premier League, wouldn't bother me one bit.
