  1. Interesting comments from Nige about people drawing conclusions about the right way to do business. It's already been mentioned that Bournemouth's approach might be to deliberately unsettle the player and goad him into making a transfer request. But that may not get them the result they want. Would be interesting if Semenyo did just that but chose to go elsewhere.
  2. I wouldn't advocate that it was right simply just possible.
  3. I suppose its just possible if he was 17 when he had his daughter who is, 17 now.
  4. Probably but I'm surprised they're worried about getting on the Brains S(kill) A(ttack) so early when the police seem to think we're all drugged up on Cocaine now.
  5. I don't know what it's like now with Bristol Sport but before the ground refurb City used to be quite accommodating. Some years ago when my nephew broke his ankle and was on crutches they were happy to move us to the end of a row and specifically asked which leg it was so they could find us a seat on the right end.
  6. Very true. Wasn't it mentioned on Sky the other day that the unfortunate Kevin Nisbet (who scored twice for Hibs) had ruptured his ACL 3 times, and he's only 25.
  7. It's been clear for some time that Spurs need a new keeper. Both Qatar and the last three PL seasons have shown that Lloris is not the keeper he was 4 years ago. I don't know if he wears contacts but he, seems to have trouble seeing anything approaching his near post.
  8. Yes, I think we can and have consistently said so. He's an honest player and his power can make him look spectacular but he's not one for me who'll ever be a consistent top striker. His first touch is generally not good enough and he often lacks composure and finesse in front of goal. Every now and again he will have a great game but there are too many poor ones. If anyone offered £15M for him I'd snatch it from their hands. Elsewhere I don't understand comparison to Bobby Reid. They are a totally different style of player. Until he was 23/24 Bobby Reid had spent his football career as a midfielder not a striker, and it's questionable that Fulham are using him as a striker now.
  9. It should but the City official position is that they can't guarantee reading from the phones and it'll cost you £5 per ticket if they have to print one off for you.
  10. I don't know whether Semenyo will depart but I don't see that our game changes if he does. We'd lose some power certainly but in Wells, Bell, Scott and Sykes we have enough energy to maintain a high press when defending and enough pace to transition on the counter in attack. Add in young players like Taylor-Clark and in due course returning Weimann and Conway then we should be able to cope.
  11. It's not Charles fault his Coronation coincided with the final Saturday of the EFL season. Camilla told him it was the only day she could free up in her diary.
  12. And not just Bath but Wiltshire too where they picked up players like Nathan Dyer who my nephew played against as a kid when Nathan played for Trowbridge Tigers. For years Southampton has been the pre-eminent academy in the South and West, much to the chagrin of Pompey supporters, but I'd like to think we can compete with them now.
  13. I'm an advocate of scrapping VAR but if we have to keep it then the VAR referee should view incidents in real time and make a decision within a minute. If he can't decide in a minute it's not a clear or obvious error. There should also be no need to use VAR for every goal.
  14. You're right! TBF I've never particularly disliked him as, while we can all think of some dodgy decisions by him, he is his own man and is not swayed by the crowd or blindly conforms to the ridiculous instructions meted out by the football authorities. I only used him as the first EFL referee to come to mind.
  15. What a disappointing OP. I thought by the title there was going to be a referee change for Blackburn and we were going to get the popular Keith Stroud.
  16. I'd noticed that. I don't know the case here but it seems to be the modern way to keep both surnames on marriage, usually, as per the Spanish way with the male surname first. Perhaps there'll come a day when an entire team will be made up of double barrelled name players.
  17. The sadness is I'm not surprised. I've long believed that the football authorities only pay lip service to racism and this just strengthens my view.
  18. Coaches usually pitch up about 1pm to give time to greet players entering the ground. Plenty of time for a walk around and a drink.
  19. Reminds me if a song I once saw a band perform at Cambridge United's supporters club If matches are made in heaven why does it say Sweden on the box.
  20. I said in the Semenyo thread that I would sooner let Semenyo leave and keep Bell around instead of loaning him out. While this was said against a background of poor Semenyo form at the time, which he has to be fair turned around, it was principally because I see Sam Bell as a more natural goalscorer than Antoine who is power rather than finesse. Given our injuries and squad size I hope that Sam gets more opportunities in the weeks, ahead and goes nowhere this month.
  21. Great result tonight. Let's beat Blackburn now so that winning becomes a habit.
  22. I've never looked but do Manchester United and Salford ever play at home on the same day? That's a better parallel to here.
  23. For those Wrexham fans in Rhyl and Llandudno are they putting up Scouse subtitles.
  24. But you can make a start on that extension you always wanted by utilising the bricks they propped your car up on.
  25. It's been a long time since City and I visited Goodison. I can tell you its a lot more intimidating than Anfield.
