  1. As I said during the Euros Keira Walsh always seems to be in control of her own game. Having been outplayed in midfield by Lyon in last seasons Champions League final its no wonder Barcelona came calling for her in the summer. I doubt there's a better midfielder in the world right now, although Georgia Stanway us giving it a good go.
  2. Good game of football. England defended better second half although their playing of the ball across the back gives one palpitations, particularly when the go back again instead of turning into space in midfield.
  3. Good half of football that. USA unlucky not to be level. Firstly the England penalty is one of those not always given as Bronze did duck a little. But the offside that denied Rodman's 'goal' was incredibly tight and not clear on what we've seen so far. I don't think Smith was offside but possibly a player wider out, Rapinhoe or Rodman.
  4. Jantzen Derrick was more skilful than those 4 combined. By far the most skilful to put on a City shirt in my lifetime.
  5. Coventry came for a point and achieved it. They conceded the middle of the park to us and sat back to defend. For the most part they defended well but had some luck it on the few occasions that their keeper flapped at a cross or McFazdean got his legs muddled up. Up to the edge of the box we played well but our final pass was off all night and didn't pose a real threat on goal. King, Vyner and Massengo were the stand outs. First time this season we haven't scored but at least it was, a clean sheet.
  6. It's now the 24 and it still runs. You can pick it up outside Primark in Broadmead, from the cenotaph or the last stop on Broad Quay opposite the Hippodrome. On Ashton Road it stops outside of the Coopers.
  7. This is ridiculous. It used to be the case that the league took precedent so what the hell is the EFL doing allowing this farago.
  8. I think you're right and he will have to wait his chance but he can't do much more than he's doing right now. I haven't seen Joe Porton live but from snippets of videos I have seen he looks technically gifted and neat and tidy in posession. If he, and others, continue their current rate of progression the future looks bright.
  9. Assist from Omar Taylor-Clarke. Acey came on for Porton (injury) at half time.
  10. No I'm not but it looked the set up to me with possibly Taylor-Clarke as the one to be replaced by Ben Acey later.
  11. Dean is a nice bloke but I see them going down the table if he's appointed.
  12. Looks like they'll set up like the first team with 3 at the back, wingbacks, two in Central midfield and one behind a front two. A fair few have stepped up from the u18s too.
  13. I'd cerainly have Chilwell in the squad and would play him or Shaw dependant on who was in the best form, especially defensively as like Pearson I like Defenders who can defend. For the same reason I'd bomb out Maguire and play Tomori.
  14. He'd have held that while at defensive minded Burnley but now he's at gung-ho Newcastle he's caught the mood.
  15. Oh dear. The media will go into hyper drive and if you harboured any hope of getting decent odds against Iran they're shot now. Although betting on England is a mugs game.
  16. Sir Gareth of Southgate now hailed as a genius for his substitutions.
  17. Harry Maguire, a centre-back who lacks the finesse of Razor Ruddock.
  18. I'd agree that Shaw is inconsistent and for many he's a marmite player, but his presence in the team tonight has given us better balance and he played the pass of the half to Sterling who should have scored. Being a better balanced side has meant England have played better tonight than against Italy but as mentioned elsewhere the bar was pretty low.
  19. I see Bilic has only signed a (rather ambitious) 18 month contract. I'm sure his pay rate is higher than that of Edwards but perhaps he doesn't need such a hefty golden handshake having some of the money he banked from West Brom left.
  20. It was odds on (and therefore not worth the bet) that Edwards would be gone before Christmas and likely that if they appoint Bilic he'll be gone by March. It's a guaranteed monetary handout to work for Pozzo.
  21. In fairness they are not a bad side and were on a high after winning away last week.
  22. Following on from Abi Harrison and accents I'm just watching the Women's Championship highlights on Sky. Cor! Strike a light guvnor We're now goin' to watch Charton gainst Burminham.
  23. What's worse, England's current performance level, England's relegation to B level, or that we could find ourselves below Scotland in the Nations League.
  24. But there have been some awful books that have made the Times bestseller list.
