  1. So Spain are out and Morocco advance. Good for the Morrocans but I didn't want either side to through. Whilst the ITV crew looked to big up the game I was bored. Spain spent almost the entire game passing the ball around in front of the Morrocans, with few attempts and even less success to get behind their defence, whilst Morocco made few attempts to score at all. During the game I was praying for Spain to score so that Morocco would have to get forward but sadly there was never any chance of a football match breaking out.
  2. Itv are having their Bellingham and Mbappe love in at the moment ahead of the QF clash. They are certainly skilful and may well be wonderful humans but apparently so is every young player on the planet right now. Every single one is wonderful, mature for their years, destined to be the best thing since sliced bread blah, blah, blah. Not one young player is an obnoxious, over-confident, big-headed tw*t.
  3. Wee, after a poor opening 35 minutes we scored a good goal against the run of play and were in total control thereafter. Have to admit England have exceeded my expectations with Bellingham the stand out player. Will have to raise their game again now to beat the French.
  4. Sounded like Ju Ju eee to me. That's the brizzle bit at the end.
  5. Incredibly sad news. For many, especially those of a certain generation, he was and will remain the greatest player ever to have played the game. His star has always been in the acendency not just for his footballing talent but also for his modesty and especially his sportsmanship. Like a number of his generation such as Beckenbauer, Eusebio and our own Bobby Charlton a great ambassador for the sport we all Iove.
  6. Saudia Arabia score so looks like the awful Poland will go through. Argentina should have won by a much bigger margin tonight. I can't help thinking watching Argentina that they play just like Barcelona did under Guardiola.
  7. I'm glad the penalty was saved as it was a poor decision to award it, and even for the ref to be asked to review. I do hope however that Argentina can score first as it would hopefully change Poland's outlook to this game. For all his absolute brilliance, which is undeniable, penalties are Messi's weakness. He has missed a lot during his career and has openly admitted that he gets very nervous when taking them.
  8. I see someone came up with a stat on England's TV performance at world cups. BBC 12 wins from 16 - 75% ITV 2 wins from 15 - 13% England v Senegal is on ITV. Glad I'm not superstitious.
  9. Well done to England. I thought they'd struggle to get out of the group (I expected more from Iran) but they eased through. After a so so 1st half where Rashford missed a great chance and made 3 really sloppy passes, they improved much in the 2nd period. Had much to do with switching Rashford and Foden who for me plays much better coming in from the left (and the reason Grealish gets little game time). I know Rashford scored twice but MOTM for me was Bellingham. He really does help this England side tick. Senegal next which will be far from easy.
  10. The question was asked what will come first, a penalty for City or a decent cup draw. I believe it will be a decent cup draw in 2024.
  11. Not so much Canada perhaps but the USA has huge resources to call upon, including the large number of players they could bring through the collegiate system.
  12. At the end of the day if we have a desire to sell, or he has a desire to leave, his worth is what someone is willing to pay, no more or no less. As his destination is most likely to be a low, or at best middling Premier club they're not interested in buying potential but need someone who can slot straight into the 1st team to help them stay in the division.
  13. Apparently has over 50 caps for the England beach football team where he played all around the world including Tahiti. From the beaches of Tahiti to Rodney Parade, Newport.
  14. Most have more than one. Their official name and the ones given to them by opposing supporters up and down the land.
  15. I certainly hope that a solution can be found with a new distributor as I like Hummel, a company that works with a team to produce unique kits and not just trade blank template with a sponsor and badge stuck on like Adidas.
  16. We're holding out for the Sultan of Brunei. Nigel's contract will be replaced by a payment each year of his weight in gold.
  17. Like you Tone I'd love to see Samoa win, but I don't see Australia making the mistakes England made and I expect them to win by a clear 10 points. Whatever the outcome though Samoa have done their nation proud.
  18. England Wheelchair Rugby League World Champions! 28-24 over France but what a bruising game. Great entertainment that even had a pantomime villain in the French touch judge who was doing his pieces on the sideline following a decision by the ref that went against his nation. Fantastic stuff!!
  19. Anyone who paid that amount for a beer would not only be an idiot but as its Budweiser, truly one of the worst beers in the world, display a, total lack of taste.
  20. I don't know why people are so surprised at a booze ban in world cup stadiums, or for that matter so angry when most to have expressed anger won't be there anyway. It may come as a shock to many but it is actually possible to watch and enjoy a game of football without alcohol. As for the hypocrisy of FIFA in allowing drinking for the corporate punters that was a given wasn't it?
  21. But good marketing would ensure there would be sufficient stock to meet peaks in demand, especially at Christmas.
  22. I can understand your disappointment but not shock. As a corporation City have no marketing skills whatsoever.
  23. Probably but there may be other reasons he's known as Big Rob.
  24. We played well today and should of won but we were a little shot shy and we wasted some good positions. At least twice Tommy had a chance to take on the last man and get a shot away but elected to pass which came to nothing. Yet another blatant nailed on penalty denied but no shocks there. Watford managed one shot in the entire game, an awful effort after 76 minutes which flew high and wide. Overall happy with the performance but it feels like two points dropped.
  25. I've already stated I don't think we'll get out of the group and I haven't changed my mind with this squad. Ridiculous that Tomori is not included while Maguire is. We are short of a proper left back option as its not where Trippier should play, and in the absence of Chilwell I'd have brought Creswell back. Ward-Prowse should have been ahead of Conor Gallagher but England always take a youngster that doesn't play so perhaps that's his role.
