  1. "It's a lovely finish by Backwell who receives a pass inside the area with his back to goal, pulls off an impressive Cruyff turn, and hammers it into the net. Kadji has also come off for Joe Porton." I like Tommy Backwell, all action, and he's coming on leaps and bounds. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a few minutes in the first team this season.
  2. "Backwell and Kadji are providing a solid screening". So two in front of the back three...
  3. Brilliant finish apparently. Can't stop scoring. Conway and Palmer-Houlden one day..
  4. 2 x changes at HT. Acey and Araoye off, Palmer-Holden and Backwell on.
  5. I half expected Kalas to be involved in the U-21 game. No meaningful updates and no games, not good.
  6. Now 1-1 https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/bristol-city-hull-city-live-7468888
  7. Semenyo never had the academy background that TC has had from a really early age and it showed. The club persevered with him and its now paying dividends for him and the club. As for TC, I've said from a couple of seasons ago that he will come good and this season may just be the season whereby other clubs may be interested in him. I hope he gets an extended run in the team, he will score and assist goals at this level no problem.
  8. And some people seem incapable of accepting simple facts. One last time - if a player wants to leave for a hell of a lot more salary and the prospect of higher level football, then he will leave. and all the club can do is get as much money as possible for the player. Webster, Reid, Bryan are excellent examples.
  9. Just pretend you are in front of a few people and talk very loud AT them whilst shouting "let me finish" when someone else wants to talk. Works for Ian.
  10. Which was done by Huboo as far as I know ? £1.50 is a reasonable charge anyway.
  11. So a successful pass rate of around 82% which feels about right from what I saw. Vyner had a good game imo. Be interesting to see others for comparison.

I think the point some are making is the perception that SL has personally intervened in selecting managers (as he is entitled to do as the owner) and they have ultimately proved to be failures; and set us back years. The following spring to mind with three of them being internal appointments - Coppellll, Tinnion, Millen, Holden. LJ was also pereived to be an SL appointment. And Ashton as CEO (who effectively stabbed him in the back).

    Timm Klose

I saw all of them, the only thing I would say is that I don't like to see him anywhere other than in the middle as he isn't the best on a one on one these days. Atkinson and Vyner are quicker and more mobile. But I don't think he was struggling. As an aside, Naismith would be better on the left, Klose is a better option in the middle imo.
  14. Maybe a bit soon to discuss, but the Wigan game needs putting to bed. Atkinson looked to hobble off so may not be available, James not available as well, and probably HNM not available, and Kalas isn't match fit. Can Williams and Martin do a Tuesday after a Saturday ? Or save them for Cardiff ? I think Williams should play. NP seems wedded to three at the back with WBs, so: .............................Bentley ...............Vyner Klose Naismith ......Wilson/Tanner Scott Williams Pring ...............................Sykes ..................Weimann Conway Still a reasonable team for this level imo and confident of a win (as I was today tbh). But the squad is looking thin after just three games.
  15. Luton - scored one goal in 3 games. If we can score 3, we have a chance. Seriously, the Luton game is a great chance to kickstart the season, can't wait for the game - and I'll bet it can't come quickly enough for the players either. Some will be wanting to right a few wrongs and others, like Conway and Weimann, who are bursting with confidence, will want to carry on their performances. I'm hopeful of our first win of the season and a good one too.
  16. The second one was a definite penalty for me. But that aside, Conway had a very good game, he should be pleased with that. Looked very sharp and very quick. Should give his confidence a huge boost.
